In partnership with the Goethe-Institut, The French Embassy, The Department of Drama at Trinity College Dublin and the Trinity Centre for Beckett Studies. This Franco-German event explores Samuel Beckett’s art of resilience across two contemporary artistic projects: a screening of En Attendant Monsieur Godot (France, dir. Alice Clabaut, subtitled in English) and a visual presentation inspired by the exhibition Samuel Beckett: The German Room currently at the Regensburg University. Through film, photographs, and conversation with artists, the event reflects on Beckett’s exploration of resilience and creativity, as well as on the ways in which Beckett's work keeps inspiring communities to find means of expression and grow solidarity and resilience. The artistic panel will include the director of the film Alice Clabaut and Céline Thobois, Teaching Fellow in Drama at Trinity College.

Let's improve our self-awareness, by getting into the habit of writing our thoughts and emotions. & Let's enhance our curiosity and compassion in others, by giving others and ourselves an insight into the unknown lives of strangers. Join us for our 1.5 hours writing event. We will have some exercises prepared that give us the opportunity to write and share about our thoughts/emotions/experiences and use a variety of prompts. HOMEWORK: Before the event we ask participants to reflect and write +/- 10 minutes about a time they lost someone or something they cared for. Participants can choose which parts of their writing they feel comfortable sharing. **FEE:** €5 to support the group. Please pay the organiser at the event. A weekly board game meet up in "Mc Mahon’s Bar and Eatery" which is a pub. We get our own section, it's wheelchair friendly and parking is free! 🙂 Whether you are new or a veteran player you are all are welcome! General guidelines are: 1. Avoid handing drinks to people OVER a game. 2. We cannot take responsibility in the event of theft so keep your valuables close to you. 3. Strictly over 18+ only. The "rules" would be: 1. Be respectful to each other. 2. Don't be a creep. 3. Be patient to players of all skill levels. Failure to be a decent human being\* will jeopardise your participation in future events. The pub owner is really nice and are letting us use the space so if you can - please buy a tea, coffee or a drink on the night to support them if you can but don't feel obligated to do so. They also do food so you won't go hungry! The event starts at 7 PM and everyone is free to play until 11 PM where we'll wrap it up for the cleaners. Feel free to bring your games, join in on a game if there's space or organise a game here for the upcoming event to get participants. Just a note for those coming by car from Dublin: 1. I highly recommend using the motorway then driving into the pub. There's a slightly faster way with the back roads but unless you are from the area its not worth the 2 minutes saved since it's barely lit and the bends are somewhat hazardous. 2. Traffic from 5 - 6:30 is horrendous but the roads are clear enough after this time.

The Next Chapter: Looking Back, Leaning Forward is a warm, facilitated vision circle designed to help us pause together, reflect on what truly worked, and imagine what we want to carry forward into what comes next. This is not a talk or presentation. It’s a small, participatory gathering focused on shared reflection, sense-making, and connection. **Together, we’ll explore:** * What supported you over the past year — in your work, leadership, or life * What you’re ready to leave behind * What you want next January’s version of yourself to be saying To support reflection in different ways, we’ll also have optional art materials available for anyone who would like to create a simple artifact for their year — a visual or tactile reminder of what they’re carrying forward. We’ll provide basic art supplies such as colored pencils, markers, paint pens, and small canvases.
