Wellness Wonder: Breezy Yoga @Harbour Front
Wellness Wonder: Breezy Yoga @Harbour Front
In this 1‑hour class, we practice gentle stretching and Hatha yoga with mindful breathing, focusing on basic poses, clear alignment and slow, steady movement. The pace is beginner‑friendly, with options to go deeper if you already have some experience, and the goal is to leave you feeling calmer, lighter and more connected to your body. I didn’t grow up with a sports background, and my body is naturally quite stiff and not very coordinated – that’s exactly why yoga has been so helpful for me. It gave me a gentle way to start moving, and over time it’s helped me build flexibility, mobility and strength in a way that feels kind and sustainable. If you feel stiff, out of practice or nervous about joining a class, you’re very welcome here – this session is designed with beginners and “not‑so‑sporty” people in mind. **This class is for you if you:** ● Are new to yoga or returning after a break ● Want a simple movement routine without a gym/studio membership ● Prefer small, relaxed groups and a supportive atmosphere ● Are local or travelling and want to enjoy the waterfront with mindful exercise **About the instructor – Sophia Chu** Sophia is a 200‑hour certified yoga teacher and practicing landscape architect with experience in hospitality design, giving her a strong eye for space, atmosphere and how nature and cities shape how we feel. She is also a landscape architecture lecturer, used to guiding groups step by step and helping beginners feel at ease. Originally from Taiwan, she has lived abroad for over two decades, teaches fluently in English and Chinese, and welcomes people from all backgrounds. Since 2021 she has run the social Meetup group Wondering Wanderer and leads yoga sessions with FitFam Hong Kong, creating comfortable spaces for people to move, relax and connect. **Class fee** Free event – no payment required. ☆ This April class is offered as a community introduction session so you can try Wellness Wonder’s outdoor yoga, meet the group, and share feedback before we start regular paid classes later in the year. **What to bring / wear** ● Your own yoga mat ● Small towel (optional) ● Comfortable clothing you can move in Mats for newcomers (first come, first served): ● 1 soft foam mat (very beginner‑friendly) ● 1 thin rubber mat (more grip for those with some experience) ☆ Please message in advance if you need to borrow a mat. **Meeting point** Wood deck by the waterfront in Tamar Park. Please check the photo/map on this event page for the exact spot and arrive about 10 minutes early to settle in. If you have trouble finding us, contact Sophia via Meetup. **Weather & Cancellation** If rain or bad weather is forecast, we may move to a covered area nearby or reschedule. Updates will be posted on this event page 2–3 hours before class. **Memeber's Cancellation / RSVP** Out of respect for the host and other participants, please update your RSVP if you can’t attend. If possible, cancel at least 48 hours before class so your spot can go to someone else and the session can be planned properly. We understand that sudden illness or emergencies can happen – in those cases, just send a quick message when you can. **Disclaimer** By signing up and attending this event, you acknowledge that you are participating voluntarily and are responsible for your own health and safety. This class is not a substitute for medical advice, and you agree to practice within your limits and inform the instructor of any relevant conditions or injuries. The organizer and instructor are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that may arise from your participation.

Embracing Fluidity: Life Beyond Labels
Embracing Fluidity: Life Beyond Labels
*"You are under no obligation to be the same person you were five minutes ago." — Alan Watts* **What is one phase, hobby, or label you used to fit into, but have happily outgrown?** During a busy daily routine, it is easy to feel swept up in the current. The world around us naturally uses labels to help organize everyday life, and it can be genuinely comforting to find our "group" or define exactly who we are. But human beings are wonderfully complex, contradictory, and constantly evolving. This Curious Souls Cafe gathering is an invitation to explore the beauty of fluidity. We are turning our focus inward to discover a quiet sense of spaciousness within ourselves. We will discuss the quiet art of wearing a label to function in our daily lives, without letting it define our core identity. Let's share how we navigate changing our minds, outgrowing old versions of ourselves, and allowing ourselves to be a gentle "work in progress." Bring your thoughts and an open mind. Let's discover the joy of living without boxes, together. **Inviting all who are...** 🌊 Reflecting on how everyday life naturally uses categories, and seeking a quiet space to just "be" 🧠 Eager to cultivate a cozy internal space for evolving, growing, and changing their minds ⚖️ Navigating how to stay engaged in our communities while holding our personal identities lightly 📵 Interested in stepping back from digital echo chambers to savor authentic, unstructured human connection 🤝 Believing that we grow best in community, sharing insights and inspiration 📅 Agenda / What You'll Experience 💬 Prompted Conversations We will use virtual question cards designed to help people playfully explore their personal habits and internal operating systems. Here are some sample questions: * Have you ever naturally outgrown a phase, hobby, or label that used to feel like a perfect fit, and what did that shift feel like? * What is an everyday interest, taste, or opinion you used to have that has gently shifted over time? * How can we use labels as helpful tools to navigate our daily routines, without secretly letting them trap or define us? * If you didn't have to define your identity to anyone, what beautifully messy, contradictory mix of hobbies or traits would you embrace? From there, we’ll embark on a respectful, engaging, and meaningful conversation, celebrating the diversity of perspectives and ideas within the group. Note: This session may involve virtual question cards accessed via a link or QR code. If you do not have a device (phone/tablet) to access these, please ask a facilitator for assistance; we have spare units available. The exact format of the event may change depending on turnout according to [https://curioussouls.cafe/#how-to](https://curioussouls.cafe/#how-to) and other factors. 💬 Final Thoughts and Feedback Where time allows, in the final 10 minutes of the event, we’ll take a moment to reflect on the key insights, memorable moments, and takeaways from our discussions. This is a chance to distill the shared wisdom and leave with a deeper understanding of the topics we’ve explored together. After the event officially concludes, the group may choose to extend the session, depending on the group’s interest. Of course, you’re welcome to leave at any time that feels right for you. An anonymized summary will be shared for sessions where key insights are identified. After the meeting, our facilitators and participants may reflect on the discussion and contribute to a summary or collaborative workbook based on their notes and observations. Additionally, questions may be revisited in future sessions in an anonymized manner. To explore what our events are like, check out our official website at [https://curioussouls.cafe](https://curioussouls.cafe) 📍 Location City: Hong Kong Address: Empire Centre, 68 Mody Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East Inside the shopping mall of Empire Centre, there is a large open area dedicated to a café. We will sit at a round table or sofa inside (near a Hang Seng ATM or 7-Eleven store). Please look for the big words "Curious Souls Café" on our table. If you take the MTR, the nearest station and exit will be East Tsim Sha Tsui Station (Exit P1). From there, you can walk to Empire Centre, which is just a few minutes away. Contra dance with Big Scioty May 2 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
Contra dance with Big Scioty May 2 - Clinton Heights Lutheran church
**Caller: Richard Ades** **Band: The McKenzies** **Clinton Heights Lutheran Church** **15 Clinton Heights Ave, Columbus, OH 43202** WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner. Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot. For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/) Please bring your own refillable water bottle.
Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, Columbus, Ohio
Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, Columbus, Ohio
From birth, human beings are learning. Before we are able to hold concrete memories, we are being shaped and impacted by everything about our lives and situations. From the point that we become capable of cognizant thought and memory, our lives could be summed up as a series of our responses to our circumstances, whether for good or for ill. Dr. Joe Dispenza sees a deep need for human beings to live *on purpose*. Rather than just living life in reaction mode, he challenges people to live intentionally, to seek to change the negative that we have encountered and to pursue the positive through purposeful steps in a different and healthy direction. His study and work seek to demonstrate the changes that can be made from the inside out. Join us as we take a look at new ways to grow at **6:30 pm,** **Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at True Food Kitchen, Easton Town Center, Columbus**.
