Board Games at Bastard Café

It is Sunday again! So it is time for us to gather at Bastard Cafe playing games, enjoying a good drink, and having fun in the lovely atmosphere of the Cafe. Everybody is welcome, whether you are new to board games or you are an experienced player. We play everything from Codenames, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, The Resistance, Secret Hitler to more medium-long games like Terraforming Mars, Pandemic, Power Grid, 7 Wonders and Catan. You are welcome to come and play for a few hours or even stay longer if you feel like it! So girls and guys, come and join us for fun and games at Bastard Cafe! :D **FAQ** **Q**: *How can I find you?* **A**: Sometimes we got white flags saying 'Meetup' on the tables, and at other times we simply write the table number in the comment sections. But if you have any trouble finding us you are always welcome to write (chat or comment) and we will gently guide you to our table! :) **Q**: *What language do you speak?* **A**: Since our group is a mix of natives and internationals we primarily speak English. **Q**: *What games do you play?* **A**: All sorts of games! Social deduction games, strategy games, deckbuilding games, dice games, card games, dexterity games, you name it! If there is any game you want to play feel free to put a comment below, or bring it to the table to see if people are interested! **Q**: *For how long do you play?* **A**: As long as people want. We don't have a minimum or maximum time. The timer set from 1:30 pm to 8 pm are merely guiding times. Some leave after a few hours, others play until the cafe close...xD **Q**: *I am going to be 15 minutes late, can I still show up?* **A**: Of course! You are always welcome! Just be aware that people might have already started games if you show up a bit later. **Q**: *What is the average age in the group?* **A**: In general, we are a very mixed age-group but most people are probably in their 20's and 30's. Though by default, anyone no matter the age, gender, or otherwise, is welcome! **Q**: How does visiting the cafe work? **A**: A membership of the cafe cost 150 dkk a year and gives you access to all their games. Else you need a day ticket costing 30 dkk to play all games. There are also free games, but it is required you buy at least one drink from the bar to play them. Come join us for a trail run/jog/hike. It is the kennel’s anniversary birthday run and traditional laid by the founders. Run Longer, Drink Stronger, A Rabid Dane Enjoys the Pain! Rabid Danes Hash House Harriers is a non-competitive running social club with a focus on running/jogging/hiking in nature. Trails cover a distance of apx. 15 km. Hash traditions apply: we do not know in advance where the trail will lead us, but we will figure it out together. Walkers and joggers start at 10:00. Runners start at 11:00. Unlike our weekly runs, everyone follows the same trail, there are no shortcuts. The lunch is usually served from 13 The run fee of 75 DKK covers all the food and drinks after the run (picnic style), including beer/water and hot cocoa. Remember to bring a bag with spare clothes for after the run. You don't have to carry the bag during the run, as there will often be a bag car. We look forward to seeing you! Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington. The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo. Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine. We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you. The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly. Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome. The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit. Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times. Speak Easy (Storytelling)

The topic for March is "Our Bodies, Ourselves" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome.
