Come meet Katrine Hald and Magdalena Dzierzynska - two visionary food technology engineers, dedicated to creating sustainable change in the food system. They develop tasty, healthy, sustainable foods by using fungi fermentation. Meeting at DTU, through their studies and through the DTU Alt Protein Project, they bonded over a shared passion for sustainable alternative proteins. Katrine and Magdalena will give a 25 minute talk on alternative proteins, the DTU alt protein project and their journey building Oh My Celia! Afterwards there will be discussion and questions. We have the venue all evening so you have the option to continue chatting as long as you want. The event is hosted by Effective Altruism Denmark who will be providing a few snacks.

Hi everyone! Thursday is the offical book meeting day, so let's gather and share our reading. As usual, we will meet at the fourth floor of the Central Library as it has good facilities for book clubs and it is also free to use. No extra cafe money to spend. Idea is to meet and connect over books. Each participant present 1-2 books they would like to recommend or just talk about, and then we'll see where conversation leads us. Again, there is no limitation to genre or type of book you are reading. The point is that we are free to read whatever we want and then share those reading experiences, so remember to be respectful to each other. I hope to see as many of you as possible. :)

Everybody is welcome, whether you are new to board games or you are an experienced player. We play everything from Codenames, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, The Resistance, Secret Hitler to more medium-long games like Terraforming Mars, Pandemic, Power Grid, 7 Wonders and Catan. You are welcome to come and play for a few hours or even stay longer if you feel like it! Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at our Copenhagen Shut Up & Write! sessions. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, résumé, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: - 15 minutes of hellos and getting settled; maybe some quick intros. - Then, the timer starts! : writing for 1 hour. - After the hour is up... chat / take off / keep writing, if you're on a roll. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens once the hour of writing is complete. Writing can be very solitary... connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. It's best to be on time, but BEING LATE IS ALSO OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with us after the session. (We’ll be the ones with the small Shut Up & Write! sign.) This all ages event will meet in the front meeting room, with kids games and light/medium weight adult games for the grown ups. Come and make new friends while playing some favorites like Uno, Carcasonne, Catan, Ticket to Ride, or whatever your favorite games are! You can bring snacks to this room, and can check out games from the library's game collection.

Join us at Easton Town Center for a casual evening of board gaming. Play from our library or bring one of your favorites to share. We usually bring along Catan, Ticket to Ride, Cascadia, etc... We'll be set up at the Donatos Pizza Party Room. It was free for us to reserve, but you may want to buy a drink or go in on a pizza. Why Easton? Although there aren't any board game stores / cafes here, it's a nice area. More importantly, this event coincides with LifeTime Fitness Parent's Night Out, so our kid will get babysat. If you happen to be a member of Lifetime you too can get free babysitting and play some games.

Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations. 
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that. We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus. 
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn. 
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play. 
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders… 
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords… 
IMPORTANT: 
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for. 
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
