Social After-Work Bouldering (Casual & Beginner-Friendly)
This is a relaxed after-work bouldering session at **[BlocHaus Bouldering Port Melbourne](https://maps.app.goo.gl/sXoZZVviD4eJY8w89)**, focused on moving, chatting, and unwinding rather than performance or grades.
If you’re curious about bouldering, coming back after a break, or just want a low-key way to be active and social on a weekday evening, this one’s for you.
No partner required, no pressure to climb hard, and no expectation to already know anyone. We’ll climb at our own pace, take plenty of rest, and socialise between attempts.
**Who This Is For**
* Beginners or first-timers
* Casual climbers who prefer a social pace
* Solo joiners who don’t want it to feel intimidating
* Anyone who wants to move their body without it feeling like a workout class
If you’re an experienced climber, you’re still welcome — just expect a chill, mixed-ability vibe.
**Plan**
* 6:00 pm — Meet at reception, quick hellos
* 6:15 pm — Gentle warm-up & easy climbs
* 6:30 pm — Climb at your own pace, rest, and chat between attempts
* 8:00 pm — Wind down, stretch, and head off
Feel free to arrive later or leave earlier — no rigid structure.
**What to Bring**
* Change of clothes
* Climbing shoes (hire available at the gym)
* Entry fee paid individually at the desk
* Check out the pricing here: [https://mlb.blochaus.com.au/pricing/](https://mlb.blochaus.com.au/pricing/)
**Event Notes**
This is not a lesson or coaching session — just a friendly container to climb and socialise together. The goal is to make weekday movement feel easy and welcoming, not intense.
**Meeting point:** [BlocHaus Bouldering](https://maps.app.goo.gl/sXoZZVviD4eJY8w89) reception at **6pm**.
I’ll post a photo of myself here once I arrive. If you’re running late, please message me your ETA beforehand — once you arrive, I can share our location with you.

Wednesday Climb
Hello Climbers!
Just meet at the yellow sign and introduce yourself :) From there we pair up to climb. If we have an odd number of people, we can make a rotating group of 3. There is also a self-belay area if you want to get in more climbing if in a group of 3 or arriving earlier.
If the event you are planning to go to only has one or 2 people on the ‘attending’ list, we encourage organising a climbing partner in advance so you can make sure you have at least one other person there to climb with! Feel free to reach out on the event wall or message a host :)
Meet up will start at 6pm (5pm on Wed) but if you want to start earlier you certainly can, but again you will need to organise a climbing partner in advance.
New climbers are welcome, however your mandatory induction takes about 15/20mins. Harnesses, shoes and chalk bag can be hired also.

Raja Yoga - Online Course
This course, facilitated by Wendy Dixon, explores the concepts and exercises in Wallace Slater’s book *A Simplified Course of Raja Yoga*, which follows the Yoga Sutras or Aphorisms of Patanjali.
We meet online every Wednesday night and follow the 10-lesson structure created by Slater, allowing a month for each lesson. We will thoroughly explore each step, with time for discussion and practice.
Each session contains material on one or more of the eight limbs of yoga, so named by Patanjali - self-restraint (yama), self-discipline (niyama), posture (āsana), control of breath (prānayāma), control of the sense (pratyāhāra), concentration (dhāranā), meditation (dhyāna) and contemplation (samādhi).
Additional material is sourced from I. K. Taimni, Swami Vivekananda, H. P. Blavatsky and contemporary Raja Yoga books.
We begin and close each session with sitting meditations.
**This is an ongoing course that you can join at any time.**

Saturday Arvo Brighton Fish and Chips with Elwood swim. Easy Social.
Saturday Arvo Brighton Fish and Chips. 13 km. Easy Social.
It’s Valentine’s Day so bring your beau along for a surprise.
We’ll meet at ‘Time Out’, Fed Square, for a chilled Mocktail at 4pm, then departing along the new segregated bike lane along leafy well shaded St Kilda Road.
We’ll get on to the Fitzroy Street St Kilda segregated trail via the pedestrian underpass, then the Bayside trail.
Remember to bring your bathers if the weather is hot and we’ll stop at Elwood Beach for a quick refreshing dip.
Some streets through to St. Andrews Church where there is a public eating area.
The Tank, Fish and Chips is nearby.
After dinner, the ride tends to fragment with many riders choosing to return via the train from Middle Brighton Station.
However, if the day has been hot then returning via the Bayside trail to Port Melbourne Trail then Jeffs Shed is very pleasant.
What to bring:
If the weather is hot then bring plenty of water, electrolytes and bathers.
Also bike lights because it may be getting dark as you head home, however, this is a social ride so that’s probably about it.
The route can be viewed on ride with GPS and it’s always handy to download the route before the ride:
