Welcome to The Club.
**Welcome to The Club.**
A **curated** social community in Brussels for people who want real connections, memorable experiences, and **better energy than the usual random meetup chaos**.
Most of our events happen in **private homes**, gardens, hidden places around Brussels, or unusual locations outside the city. The goal is simple: create the kind of atmosphere where people actually talk, laugh, connect, and want to come back.
We organize things like:
โข gourmet lunches & dinners
โข picnics & roadtrips
โข cooking nights
โข walks around Brussels
โข karaoke & movie nights
โข debates & discussions
โข card and social games
โข occasional โchaperonedโ social evenings where people can meet naturally in a safe environment
The difference is that we personally curate and vet new members.
The host actively introduces newcomers, helps people integrate into the group, and keeps the atmosphere respectful and relaxed. We have zero tolerance for creepy behavior, unwanted pressure, spam, random uninvited people, or drama.
*Unfortunately, posting too many details publicly on Meetup or on the internet in general quickly attracts bots, scammers, fake profiles, crypto weirdos, and people who completely ruin the vibe for everyone else.*
Thatโs why most of our real coordination happens privately through our ***vetted WhatsApp community***.
To join, simply scan the QR code in the image.
If you are on your phone and cannot scan it directly:
โข take a screenshot of the image
โข open the screenshot in your photo gallery
โข most phones can automatically detect QR codes from photos by long pressing or using Google Lens / iPhone scan feature
Then request access to the group and introduce yourself briefly.
See you soon
Intervals Workout Session ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐๐ป Hippodrome de Boitsfort
We do cycles of 4-6 weeks, with a progressive intensity, and the last session is lighter.
Program:
15โ warm up
**To be defined**
Cool down to get back to the starting pointโฆ or more
S=All out sprint
RF = Run fast, at MAS (Maximum aerobic speed)
CF = Run comfortably fast (1h threshold)
J = Jog, recuperation
Notes:
It should take about one hour in total, as the cool down will end when we reach back to the meeting point.
It's NOT required to have an activity tracker or smart watch to be able to follow the program, as I'll be giving signals with a whistle.
For the "run" part, you can follow your own pace and we'll be regrouping in the "jog" part.
Intervals training is not advised for total beginners. To have an idea, the average pace at the warm up is around 5'45"/km-6'/km so this pace should feel very comfortable
***Acknowledgement of member responsibility and release of liability.***
By signing up for this event, you agree to release the organizers from any responsibility and liability in all claims. As the participation is strictly voluntary and you freely choose to join, it is the responsibility of individuals participating to ensure that they are fit enough and have adequate coverage to protect themselves.

Brussels Singles Relational Lab โ Facilitated Connection Experience
# Tired of dating apps culture and surface-level?
This is different. And people often leave surprised by how quickly strangers can feel human, warm, honest, and real again.
Free to RSVP,
๐ $59 to confirm your spot
[https://consciousconnectionsclub.com/stayconnected](https://consciousconnectionsclub.com/join)
Relational Labs is a guided connection experience for singles who want more honest, playful, emotionally intelligent interaction โ without performance, pressure, or endless small talk.
This is not speed dating.
Not networking.
Not โpitch yourself to strangers.โ
Itโs a facilitated relational container rooted in psychology, emotional intelligence, attachment work, social dynamics, nervous system awareness, and real-world human connection โ made practical enough that you can actually live it instead of reading another 50 books about it.
## What happens
โข A 2-hour guided online relational experience
โข Real-time connection exercises designed to create authentic interaction
โข A format that adapts in real time to whoever is present
โข Optional participant-led in-person continuation afterward
โข WhatsApp connection thread after the session
## This may be for you if:
โข Youโre tired of shallow or repetitive social spaces
โข You want deeper connection without forced intimacy
โข You enjoy personal growth, psychology, communication, or relational work
โข Youโre open to meeting people in a more intentional way
## Important
This experience runs with whoever is present and takes its own shape each time.
Sometimes expansive.
Sometimes intimate.
Both are the real thing.

Deep Conversation - Question Chosen in Session
How do we connect to people? What is so great about being different? Is love selfless? Should we be dreamers or realists? What values are we losing? When are we at our best? Does childhood ever end? Is morality a matter of convenience? What makes a person beautiful?
Such questions, and many more, await you Sunday at Sister's Cafe (second floor) . After introductions we will collect questions from the group participants, choose one by voting then discuss it for an hour. Then most of us stay for drinks and bizarre conversations :-).

Tennis doubles (NOT FOR BEGINNERS) - Terdelt Schaerbeek
Hello! This is a meet-up to play tennis from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday. Meeting is on the courts. The courts are booked under the name Jean-Marc. This event is for intermediate and advanced players and not organised for novice players or beginners.
Please make sure to bring the exact sum of 10 โฌ in cash.
The event is non-commercial. This sum covers the cost of the courts reserved. The organizer is not there to make money out of you. Ladies are encouraged to join.
If anyone wants to drop out, they should do it on Saturday morning, not on Sunday the day of the meetup, another wise it would be too late to find a replacement in time or to cancel a court in time with reimbursement. If you don't do this, you will be asked by the organizer to reimburse your participation fee. If this happens too late then those who have cancelled after Saturday morning will have to cover the extra cost for reserving the courts.
In the past meetups, it happened too many times that we were an oneven number and because of that all those present had less fun to play. If you don't show up without giving a written excuse in time, the first future participation will be cancelled and you will be asked to reimburse the participation fee. If it happens too many times you will not be able to participate anymore.
In case if we are an uneven number of players, then the last player (except the host of course who has to collect the money) can leave or persuade other players to play with him or her. Of course if the last player leaves, then he or she doesn't have to pay the participation fee. If this player leaves, he or she will be added on a future event by the host or organizer in the participation list if the player is far away in the waiting list. This is the advantage of leaving on a voluntary basis;-).
We operate on the principle of Fair Play as we do not have umpires or referees. Any disputes or disagreements over line calls or scores should be resolved immediately on the court and, when agreement is not possible, the point or game should be replayed. To be able to replay the game, 3 players need to agree on that without manipulation of the one who disputes an entire game, anotherwise injustice could occur where in the end possibly the biggest cheater could win... This situation applies also, if the host or the organizer is involved.
When one of the players still doesn't accept this compromise, then it should be reported (meetup message by preference) to the organizer or host of the meetup event.
One of the consequences could be that the first upcoming event could be cancelled by the organizer for the player who doesn't comply with the compromise to play the point or the game again. If the same player does that again for a second time, then the person will see 4 of his next tennis meetups cancelled. If this happens a third time with the same player, then the player in question will be banned from all future tennis meetups with an exclusion as a final result.
Whenever there is a big problem, it should be reported as well to the organizer of the group so he can, if necessary, take actions to improve the situation for all the players.
Please also note that if you are the first on the waiting list, you will automatically be moved up to the attendance list if someone pulls out. So if you are on the waiting list and see that you cannot attend, please also change your status to not going.
If you would like to organize a meet up either this week or next week please get in touch with me, my name is Jean-Marc. It will depend on your initiatives to create more tennis meetups per week.
Let's Write!
Let's meet to write !
Schedule :
11:00 - 11:30 am : Presentation tour. Share briefly with the group about your project and your "goal of the day".
11:30 - 13:30 : Let's write !
13:30 : Conclusion tour. Did you achieve your goal of the day ?
See you soon !
Badminton Sunday Advanced
First time comers
Please make sure to read the rules and contact the organizer before! Otherwise you will be moved to waiting list. Apologies for inconvenience but we have to do it to avoid no-shows.
New and Interested in being part of our group? Join here, https://chat.whatsapp.com/KqdVhyuBhFz1d56lv4WVVi
Please Direct Message the Organizer with your level. Approval is required before your first RSVP.
Games format.
95% are double games (unless someone needs a break), typically 4 people play together 2 sets and then mix with players from other fields. We play with plastic shuttles - Yonex Mavis 2000 (which are provided).
Registration
If it's your first time, please send a private message to the host to confirm. No-shows are taken quite seriously because they unbalance the games a lot. Also once you register please keep an eye on you private messages, in case we need to contact you.
Players level
Having players with much less experience often unbalances the game making it much less interesting for more experienced players. We still try to be welcoming.
As a rule of thumb, if you know what a "clear" is, you are welcome to join.
Otherwise, feel free to get in touch with me (John) and we can see if we can arrange so you and existing players can have good experience playing.
Price and payments
The price of participation is EUR 9. Payment is on-site in cash, or via online. Info provided during or shortly after the event in the WhatsApp group.
Cancelations and no-shows
Switches and cancellations are free of charge if done more than 50 hours before the start of the matches
If you cancel within the 50-hour window before the event starts, you will be placed on the wait-list for the next week's event, whether or not a replacement is found. If no replacement is secured, you'll still need to cover your share of the costs.

CBusData - Highlights and Hidden Gems in SQL Server 2025
Highlights and Hidden Gems in SQL Server 2025
With so much emphasis on cloud data platforms and AI these days, SQL people can feel left behind by all the marketing hype. SQL Server 2025 was officially released in November of 2025, though, and contains a ton of improvements that will make our SQL Server deployments a bit faster, better, and more secure. There are even more improvements tucked into the release that never made a marketing blog or press release that you'll likely be learning about for the first time in this session!
Join this session to learn about what makes your high availability a little more available, your performance a bit more performant, and your database more developer and app-friendly. Come spend an hour with SQL people talking SQL Server 2025 โ the good, the "not quite ready for prime time", and the hidden awesomeness.
Data & Analytics Wednesday - Learning from Everyday Data
**Practical Curiosity: Learning from Everyday Data**
How do we actually get better at utilizing our day-to-day data? Fancy dashboards and complex models might look nice and draw attention, but thatโs not where most of us spend our time. In fact those shiny outputs frequently sit unused, while the real insights are drawn from the analystโs daily practice.
Sometimes itโs as simple and as powerful as noticing that a segment is shrinking, a channel is underused, or certain links keep getting all the clicks. Thereโs many different places that the spark of insight can come from, but you have to keep your head in the data and know where to look.
In this session, weโll explore real-world examples of how segmentation, testing, and click behavior can uncover practical digital marketing opportunities. Youโll leave with inspiration for your own use cases, along with a few simple ways to ask better questions, spot meaningful patterns, and make smarter decisions without overcomplicating it.
**About Our Speaker:**
[Elaine Armbruster](https://www.linkedin.com/in/elainearmbruster/) is a Director of Digital Experience at the [American Diabetes Association](https://diabetes.org/), where she focuses on using data and insights to create smarter, more effective digital experiences. A lifelong Columbus resident, she has built her career in email marketing and the broader digital user journey, and is finding she most enjoys working in the messy middle where systems, data, and big ideas donโt quite line up yet.

Stop Guessing: How to Measure and Improve LLM Outputs
Most people use LLMs by feel: ask a question, read the answer, decide whether it โseems good,โ and move on.
That works for casual use. It does not work when you are building software, automating workflows, writing important documents, or relying on AI for anything that needs to be repeatable.
In this talk, weโll look at how to improve and evaluate the inputs and outputs of LLMs using practical measurement techniques. Weโll cover how prompt changes affect results, how to compare outputs, how to build simple evaluation sets, and how math-based methods like similarity scoring can help you move beyond guesswork.
This will be beginner-friendly, so even if you don't know anything about AI, you should get something out of it. However, this will be a little more technical than our intro talks. You do not need to be an AI researcher, but programmers and technically curious attendees will get a lot out of it.
Weโll cover:
* Why โit looks goodโ is not enough
* How to improve prompts by changing the input, context, and constraints
* How to compare LLM outputs more systematically
* Basic evaluation techniques for accuracy, consistency, and usefulness
* How embeddings, cosine similarity, and scoring can help evaluate results
* Where automated evaluation works โ and where humans still need to stay in the loop
By the end, youโll have a practical mental model for treating LLMs less like magic and more like systems you can test, measure, and improve.
LOGISTICS AND PARKING:
The talk starts at 7:00 PM. The first half hour is reserved for everyone to get set up and mingle. Free pizza and drinks!
The cheapest parking option is to find street parking, which will only cost you a few bucks. Otherwise, park in the nearby veteran's museum lot for $8. It's highly recommended you avoid the nearby $15 garage parking.
COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 โ 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.
Fast track
โข Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell).
โข Show up and try it out.
โข Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process
โข Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/).
โข Attend orientation in advance.
โข At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.
โข Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM.
โข Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895).
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
Columbus Code & Coffee 88 @ Improving

Near the beginning of the event (1:30 pm), we do a standup:
* Organizer announcements, updates, and logistics
Round 1 - (7 secs max):
* Your name
* What you're working on
* What you can help others with
Round 2:
* Community events you wanna plug. If none, that's cool too.
Round 3:
* Job opportunities you're hiring for OR announce that you are looking for one. If none, that's cool.
After the introduction circle, everything is self-organized! Feel free to work alone, pair up, attend one of our workshops/presentations, or mingle!
