Punch Needle - only in Zürich
Punch Needle - only in Zürich
**Kawaii Punch Needle Workshop** In this Punch Needle workshop, you'll transform simple threads into unique works of art. Punch Needle is a modern yet relaxing embroidery technique where loops are created in the fabric using a special needle. This results in textured, soft surfaces and impressive patterns. This workshop offers the perfect opportunity to learn Punch Needle or to bring your creative ideas to life – no prior experience necessary. At the beginning of the Punch Needle workshop, you'll receive an introduction to the basics of the technique . I'll explain step by step how the punch needle works, which materials are used, and what you should pay attention to while stitching. You'll learn how to guide the thread correctly, create even loops, and neatly execute your design. The calm, repetitive movement of punch needle is particularly relaxing and perfect for unwinding from everyday life. In the workshop, you have two creative options to choose from. The first option is to select an **existing template** . These designs are especially suitable for beginners and guide you step-by-step through the embroidery process. You can concentrate fully on the technique and learn how to create a punch needle artwork from start to finish. The second option is for those who want to unleash their own creativity. You can **design your own pattern** and then embroider it yourself. Whether simple shapes, patterns, lettering, or a free-form motif – you decide what you want to create. Here, too, you will receive individual guidance and support in planning and executing your design. Throughout the entire Punch Needle workshop, you will receive personal, step-by-step guidance . It's important to me that all participants feel comfortable and can work without pressure. Questions are always welcome, and I'll help you find solutions if something doesn't work right away. The goal is to work with enjoyment and create a result you can be proud of. All materials are included in the workshop . You'll receive the punch needle, fabric, frame, and a selection of threads in various colors. You don't need to bring anything except your creativity and enthusiasm for crafting. At the end of the workshop, you'll take your hand-stitched artwork home – ideal as a decoration or a personal gift. **How long?** **Max 2 hours, come anytime between 14:00 and 20:00. Please message me if you are coming any time after 14:00.** **For whom?** The Punch Needle Workshop is **suitable for everyone** . Both children and adults are welcome. The course is aimed at beginners, but creative people with some experience can also gather new ideas and refine their technique. Punch Needle is easy to learn and offers quick results, which makes the workshop particularly motivating. If you feel like trying something new, unwinding creatively and creating a work of art with your hands, this Punch Needle Workshop is just right for you.

This technique is particularly popular because it delivers quick, visible results and leaves plenty of room for imagination. **Coloring** allows you to relax and fully concentrate on colors and shapes. Whether using templates or freehand designs, coloring helps you unwind and is ideal for creative breaks between other projects **.** When **designing jewelry,** you create your own accessories. Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit - Barret Blake
Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit - Barret Blake
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge. **Abstract** *Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit: From Intent to Implementation* Spec-driven development flips the traditional workflow on its head: instead of code being the source of truth, the specification becomes the backbone of design, collaboration, and delivery. In this session, we’ll explore how GitHub Spec-Kit enables teams to treat specifications as first-class artifacts—living documents that drive architecture, implementation, and verification. You’ll learn how Spec-Kit helps teams clearly express intent using structured, version-controlled specs that live alongside code. We’ll walk through a practical workflow that starts with defining system behavior and constraints, then progressively refines those specs into testable, automatable outcomes. Along the way, we’ll show how specs can reduce ambiguity, improve cross-functional collaboration, and make design decisions explicit before a single line of production code is written. This talk will cover: --What spec-driven development is (and what it isn’t) --How GitHub Spec-Kit fits into modern developer workflows --Using specs to align product, engineering, and AI-assisted development --Real-world examples of turning specs into implementations with confidence Whether you’re building greenfield systems, integrating AI into your stack, or trying to reduce costly rework, spec-driven development offers a scalable way to move faster without sacrificing clarity. Attendees will leave with concrete patterns and a clear mental model for adopting GitHub Spec-Kit in their own projects. **YouTube Link** TBA

Humanist Program: Fighting the Efforts to Insert Religion into Public Education
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk. Our March speakers are Molly Gaines and Zack Parrish, co-organizers of the Secular Education Association: They will share their story of how a small group of Ohio parents grew into a national organization tracking released-time religious instruction and other church–state issues in public schools. The presentation will cover SEA’s early wins and hard lessons, what we’re seeing nationally right now, and how local advocates can play a meaningful role in protecting public education. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the landscape — and practical ways to get involved. Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. Join **Daclaud** at **The Arcane Foundry** for an evening that introduces newcomers and enthusiasts alike to the timeless craft of **tabletop wargaming** and **miniature painting**. My own journey began with a fascination for fantasy — knights in armor, grim and hardened warriors, and monstrous creatures locked in epic battle. That passion led me to **Dungeons & Dragons**, where I painted my first **Basic Heroes set** and felt the spark that comes from bringing a character to life in miniature form. Not long after, I discovered **Warhammer Fantasy** and **Warhammer 40,000**, and I was hooked. The vision of vast armies clashing across the table — each unit meticulously painted, each story unfolding through dice and imagination — became my creative obsession. During this event, we’ll explore the **origins of wargaming**, from its early military simulations to the richly detailed worlds of modern tabletop battle systems. You’ll learn how to **build and customize your own armies**, paint your first figures, and experience the joy of turning strategy and storytelling into a hands-on art form. Whether you’re drawn by the lore, the hobby, or the thrill of commanding miniature legions, this introduction will open the gates to a world that has captivated hobbyists for generations. ** RSVP today and join us at The Arcane Foundry — where every brushstroke and battle tells a story.**

Bring your Raspberry Pi, Arduino, microcontroller, or any other electronic project and join fellow electronics makers for a night of creativity and collaboration! This session is open forum to share your current projects—whether complete or in progress, it’s all interesting! Whether you’re deep into embedded systems, exploring new ideas, or just getting started, you’ll find a welcoming space to collaborate, share, and get inspired. **New to electronics or curious about tinkering?** You’re absolutely welcome. If you’re a beginner and want to experiment, I’ll have a couple of starter kits available so you can try things out—whether that’s blinking your first LED, putting something on a display, or experimenting with simple sensors. No pressure and no experience required—just an interest in learning and building. While we continue to pursue a more permanent venue for this Meetup, we’ll be using public library facilities based on availability. This session will be at the Worthington Park Library in the Olentangy Meeting Room.
