**Agentic UI Requires Standards: How AG\-UI\, A2UI\, and MCP Apps Work Together \|** **Manfred Steyer**
Agentic AI promises systems that can plan, act, and use tools. In practice, integrating these capabilities into the UI often leads to tight coupling between frontend, agent logic, and specific backend technologiesāresulting in vendor lock-in and limited flexibility.
This session shows how open standards bring structure to Agentic UI. It introduces AG-UI, A2UI, and MCP Apps, and explains how they work together across system boundaries: AG-UI decouples the frontend from agent implementations, A2UI enables structured and dynamic interfaces, and MCP Apps provide reusable, backend-agnostic capabilities.
Together, these standards enable flexible, decoupled architectures that remain stable even as underlying technologies evolve.
**More about our speakers:**

Building with MCP
MCP is changing how developers build with AI, but we're just scratching the surface. Join us for an evening of talks that go beyond retrieval to explore what's actually possible when you give agents real tools, real constraints and real APIs.
**Agenda**
ā6:00 PM - Doors open, registration and networking
ā6:10 PM - Welcome (Upsun & Cloudflare)
ā6:20 PM - MCP: Context is Everything! - Carly Richmond, Elastic
ā6:45 PM - Sandboxes: how to limit agents so we can use them more - Patrick Dawkins, Upsun
ā7:00 PM - Break (Food & Drinks)
ā7:30 PM - Cooking with MCP in VS Code - Liam Hampton, Microsoft
ā7:55 PM - Efficient tools with MCP code mode - Confidence Okoghenun, Cloudflare
ā8:15 PM - Open networking and drinks
ā9:00 PM - Close
š£ļø ā**Talks**
ā**MCP: Context is Everything! - Carly Richmond (Developer Advocate Lead, Elastic)**
āMCP is a powerful tool for giving LLMs capabilities to not just retrieve information, but to automate key actions based on relevant data. Letās see how it can be used for retrieving relevant context and other activities such as observability.
ā**Efficient tools with MCP code mode - Confidence Okoghenun (Senior Developer Advocate, Cloudflare)**
āTraditional MCP approaches choke on context windows: Cloudflare's 2,500+ endpoint API would require 1.17 million tokens. Code Mode flips the script by having LLMs write code against typed APIs instead of making direct tool calls, achieving 99.9% token reduction. Come learn how code mode works and how to optimize your MCP tools with it.
ā**Sandboxes: how to limit agents so we can use them more - Patrick Dawkins (Principal Engineer, Upsun)**
āWe want our agents to run longer and use more tools, but we're hampered by constant prompts for approval. Sandboxes are the practical middle ground: isolate the agent so you can stop watching every command and let it work. This talk covers what "sandbox" means, who provides them today and the Linux primitives that let you build one yourself.
ā**Cooking with MCP in VS Code - Liam Hampton (Senior Cloud Advocate, Microsoft)**
āIn this session Liam will show you how VS Code is fully supporting the MCP spec, from MCP Apps to sandboxing and elicitations.
š
**Date and Time:**
Thursday, May 14, from 6:00-9:00 PM
š **Location:**
Cloudflare
Address: 6th Floor, County Hall/The, Riverside Building, Belvedere Rd, London SE1 7PB, UK
š You can also register here: https://luma.com/eb8j6lhu
**ā”ļø Interested in giving a talk? ā”ļø**
Have you ever considered presenting on your Elastic use case? We welcome 5-10 minute lightning talks, 45-minute deep dives, and everything in between. If you're interested, please submit via our [CFP](https://sessionize.com/elastic-meetups/) or send us an email at [meetups@elastic.co.](http://meetups@elastic.co./)

Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
This is a free, in-person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships.
Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to āpin the blameā on someone or something. If you donāt find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse.
Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well.
Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, donāt know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe youāve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship.
Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action?
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships!
Break free from self imposed limitations
Here we will discuss:
⢠How to āeraseā the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isnāt always repeating past mistakes.
⢠Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you?
⢠Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it?
⢠Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love?
⢠Fights & arguments - what's really behind them?
⢠What underlies ācorrosive criticismā or the need to invalidate self or others?
⢠How one can stably change oneās outlook on life so they can affect positive change?
⢠Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them?
⢠How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about?
⢠How to enhance oneās own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or oneās career?
Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general.
Learn where painful experiences are āstoredā and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can āeraseā those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become ātoxicā personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you wonāt be tripped up trusting the wrong person.
Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life.
We look forward to having you join us!
This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
