· Some Like It Hot · by Billy Wilder ☼ online event
Two men witness a mob massacre, and the mob knows who and where they are. The men are musicians, and to hide from the bad guys they adopt female disguises and join an all-woman band. They do their best to fit in and maintain the deception, but sharing living quarters with the likes of Marilyn Monroe tends to make them lose their focus. A curious bit of trivia: upon its original release, Kansas banned the film from being shown in the state with the explanation that cross-dressing was “too disturbing for Kansans.”
