Im Vergleich zu anderen Megastädten in China, verbindet Shanghai die Tradition und Moderne auf faszinierende Weise und ist über viele Jahrzehnte gewachsen. Die Stadt beeindruckt mit ihrer spektakulären Skyline, historischen Vierteln und vielfältigen kulinarischen Angeboten. Die Stadt ist zudem vergleichsweise international, was uns den Einstieg in die chinesische Kultur ein bisschen erleichtert. **Tag 3-4: Xitang - Kanalstadt mit Flair 🏮** Von Shanghai geht es am Nachmittag mit dem Bus ins 2h entfernte Xitang. Die Altstadt bietet wunderschön restaurierte Häuser, Brücken und Kanäle die vor allem Abends eine unvergleichbare Stimmung erzeugen. Wir werden hier in einem klassischen Holzhaus übernachten, um die Stadt nach und vor den Tagestouristen in Ruhe genießen zu können und abends ein gemütliches Bier am Kanal trinken zu können. **Tag 5-7: Hangzhou - Entspannung am Westsee 🚣🏻‍♀️** Unser nächster Stopp ist die gesichtsträchtige Provinzhauptstadt Hangzhou. Neben einer schön restaurierten Altstadt und dem berühmten Lingyin Tempel, zieht vor allem der Westsee jährlich zahlreiche Besucher an. Ein Tagesausflug mit dem Fahrrad rund um den Westsee bietet unterwegs auch die Möglichkeit einen Besuch der Longjing Teeplantagen. **Tag 7-9: Nanjing - die ehemalige Hauptstadt Chinas 🏞️** Weiter geht es in die noch bedeutendere Stadt Nanjing am Jangtse Fluss. Während der Ming Dynastie war Nanjing das Zentrum Chinas und beeindruckt auch heute noch mit einer der größten Stadtmauern der Welt, alten Tempelanlagen und dem wunderschönen Xuanwuhu Park. Ein riesiger See mit Gärten, Brücken und ruhigen Ufern mit Ausblick auf die riesige historische Stadtmauer. **Tag 9-12: Zhangjiajie - Aufbruch nach Pandora ⛰️** In Zhangjiajie erwartet uns eine der spektakulärsten Naturlandschaften dieser Welt. So spektakulär das James Cameron die Felsenlandschaft von Zhangjiajie als Vorlage für seine Avatar Filme nutzte. Wir werden 2 volle Wandertage haben um, die Weiten des riesiegen Nationalparks erkunden zu können und uns von der Schönheit der teilweise 300m hohen freien Felsformationen, in die Welt von Avatar ziehen zu lassen. **Tag 12-15: Chongqing - Die beeindruckendste Skyline der Welt 🌉** Auch wenn Chongqing inzwischen kein absoluter Geheimtipp mehr ist, sind ausländische Besucher immer noch die absolute Ausnahme in dieser 22 Millionen Einwohner Stadt. Dabei setzt die Stadt mit Ihrer Geografie, der Architektur, der atemberaubenden Skyline und der scharfen HotPot Küche, selbst für China neue Maßstäbe. **Tag 15-17: Xi'An - Die Terrakotta Armee 🏺** Der letzte Stopp unserer China Backpacking Reise führt uns nach Xi'an, eine der ältesten Städte Chinas. Neben der historischen Altstadt ist Xi'An weltweit vor allem für die weltberühmten Terrakotta-Armee bekannt.
