📚 #InPursuit – A Book Club for Builders, Thinkers, and Doers
📚 #InPursuit – A Book Club for Builders, Thinkers, and Doers
📚 #InPursuit is a book club for entrepreneurs, creatives, and curious minds who know personal growth fuels business growth. **See a lot of RSPVPs and wonder how it works? We'll break up into groups of 6-8 to share our insights, then swap groups after 30-45min so you can maximise learning from everybody!** *Note: this even is not organised by or affiliated with The State Library of Victoria* **That's what #InPursuit is all about** It’s not a traditional book club, it’s a space for people who are actively designing a better life through the pursuit of business, creativity, and personal growth. This event is for anyone #InPursuit of better business, life and relationships. Instead of reading the same book, we each come prepared to share one powerful insight from something we’ve read in the past 3-months. Anything non-fiction that’s moved us forward. Whether it’s a mindset shift, a productivity system, a new philosophy, or just a truth that punched us in the gut. This is a place to unpack it together and hear what others are learning too. We’re not just here to *read*. We’re here to *integrate*. Because when we grow, our business and our lives grow too. **🔍 Why Join? You'll leave with:** * 5–10 fresh insights from books you may never have picked up * Deeper awareness of how others think, lead, and evolve * New connections with people walking a similar path toward purpose, results, and impact This isn’t a lecture. It’s a room full of people building themselves while they build the thing. **📖 How It Works** First time? No pressure to share, just come curious. We'll break up into groups of 6-8 and share our insights, then swap groups so you can maximise the learning! Returning? Bring one idea you’ve read about in the last 3-months and be ready to speak on: 1. What did you learn? 2. How did it shift your perspective about the world or yourself? 3. How has it changed the way you show up or behave? We keep it structured, but flexible. After sharing, we open up to Q&A, personal stories, challenges, and deep dives. Some of the best insights come from the conversations *after* the share. **🧠 Who This Is For** * Entrepreneurs or side-hustlers finding their footing * Business owners, and doers building toward better * Curious minds who love ideas but care more about action * People tired of shallow conversations and hungry for growth If you’re working on something—or becoming someone—this space is for you. It’s a practice ground for people who want to grow forward. We’re all #InPursuit of mastery, momentum, and the kind of success that starts from within. **Map on how to get there** We're in the Create Quarter on the ground level (back right of the Quad as you enter from Swanson St). We'll likely be on a long table together. https://www.slv.vic.gov.au/sites/default/files/SLV-EnglishMap_Jan25.pdf *If there is no room at a table I'll post on the event page that we'll be going to Mr. Tulk Cafe, which is on the corner of the library at Swanson St and La Trobe St.*

Getting Roads Right in Property Development!(DPM Consulting) + Townhouses(Sunny)
Getting Roads Right in Property Development!(DPM Consulting) + Townhouses(Sunny)
**\*\*\*RSVP PROCESS - CRITICAL INFO\*\*\*** Please be aware, we don't use the Meetup website to take RSVPs, so you will need to register on this link to lock in your place (bookings essential) - [https://propdev.info/uMKh](https://propdev.info/uMKh) We run events most weekends around Australia so you can attend either physically in your local area, or live-stream to any event around the country. **In-Person:** 1:30pm (Melbourne time) to 'Mingle With The Expert' **Virtual:** 2pm (Melbourne time) **INTRODUCING THE INDUSTRY EXPERT:** *Getting Roads Right in Property Development! DPM Consulting Group (John Mathios)* Your feasibility looks solid until road construction, sewer, stormwater, soil conditions and council bonds start blowing the budget. This is where many mum-and-dad developers get caught out. Road networks cost more than expected. Sewer and stormwater requirements change mid-process. Soil conditions add scope and dollars. Then come the bonds, tying up large chunks of cash for far longer than planned. Miss any of this, and your profit margin quietly disappears. That’s why you need to hear from **John Mathios** of **DPM Consulting Group.** John works directly with councils and developers on real-world road construction and infrastructure delivery. He’ll break down the actual costs behind: • Road construction and RD networks • Sewer and stormwater infrastructure • Soil risks that impact construction budgets • Council bonds what they really cost, when they’re paid, and when you get your money back If you want to budget accurately, protect cash flow, and avoid nasty surprises, this is a session every serious small-scale developer needs to attend. **INTRODUCING THE REAL DEAL:** *5 Townhouses (Sunny Katyal)* *1040m2, GZ, Frankston, Victoria* You’ve found a block online, zoned for development and the numbers look great. You think it’ll be smooth sailing until reality hits. **Sunny Katyal** this month’s Real deal presenter knows exactly what that feels like when he secured a site in a general residential zone, planning a 5-townhouse project, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Lender delays, a builder going bankrupt, and the challenges of managing a project from a distance. Margins squeezed. Stress levels skyrocketed. What should have been a simple townhouse development turned into a real-world lesson in resilience and problem-solving. At our next Property Developer Network Meetup, Sunny will share the real, unfiltered story of this 5-townhouse project from purchase in 2020 to completion in 2026. You’ll learn: • How he navigated lender issues without derailing his project • How he managed builders and contractors to avoid costly setbacks • How he handled managing his site from a distance • The hard lessons and practical strategies he learned to keep the townhouse deal profitable If you’re a mum-and-dad developer wanting to see the reality behind the numbers, avoid rookie mistakes, and learn strategies that actually work, Sunny’s story is not one to be missed. ***This is your chance to talk property with other enthusiasts!*** See you all soon!

Ukulele Session in Mordialloc!
Ukulele Session in Mordialloc!
We're doing a special uke session in Mordialloc! Thanks to Helen and Mike for suggesting the idea and making it happen. I hope you can make it, it's a beautiful location and community space. If you have uke friends nearby, please let them know! Venue: Mordialloc Motor Yacht Club https://maps.app.goo.gl/TfDqYsh4RZdXi8hZ9 The club is located on an island. Access is at the back corner of the Bridge Hotel carpark, up stairs, across a bridge then down stairs (unfortunately no wheelchair access, apologies). The hall is upstairs, again no wheelchair access. Strictly NO DOGS are allowed on the island (apologies again). This is a Council rule - not a club rule. Tickets: Because it's a tiny island, we need to control the attendance. To confirm your attendance, please get a free ticket by clicking on this trybooking link: [https://www.trybooking.com/DISPZ](https://www.trybooking.com/DISPZ) Attendance will be capped at 60 people so be quick! Parking: Attached in the photo section is a map of the Club and surroundings. Yellow indicates where parking is possible, there's also some available along Bowman Street. If it is a nice day, lots of people will go to the beach so parking will be challenging - perhaps best to park elsewhere and take the train to Mordialloc. Note: You can't park at the Bridge Hotel carpark - they will get very cross. Bring a plate for afternoon tea. There'll be sandwiches available and there are ovens if you want to warm food up. The Club will provide tea and coffee, the bar will be open for alcohol and soft drinks. Suggested Playlist: Songs from the 60s and 70s - but you can request other songs too - I have thousands of songs. Please bring your own ukulele, I won't be able to supply spare ukuleles today. The session is free because I want to make it as accessible as possible but there is a donation box if you like our sessions and want to contribute to our operating expenses. Getting there by public transport Take the train to Mordialloc Station, then walk 700 metres to the Club. or take bus 903 to Mordialloc Plaza, then walk 500 metres to the Club. How we conduct our sessions For the first 20 minutes we usually play very easy songs which are suitable for beginners (even complete beginners), and serve as a warm-up for more experienced players. Beginners, try to attend this part of the session, it's the most important bit for you! The next 30 minutes is usually devoted to learning new songs, according to the theme of week. We will then have a 10-minute break. The last 60 minutes is spent playing songs that participants pick from a list. Important If you are late, please use the meetup app to send messages to me. If you can't attend at the last minute, please change your RSVP or send a message. cheers, Fi Like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/melbourneukulelecommunity/ P.S. If people want to stay on, MOJO, the Mordialloc Jazz Orchestra plays from 7-9pm just across the creek at the Hazel Pierce Reserve. There are other acts on before hand and it's free!

From Stability to Stewardship

A Biblical & Practical Path to Financial Freedom
From Stability to Stewardship A Biblical & Practical Path to Financial Freedom
This is not just a money class. This is a restoration space. The I AM Worthy of Ownership™ Path is a 12-step, sister-centered journey for women who are ready to build financial stability without shame, fear, or pressure—and to do it in a way that honors both wisdom and the spirit. Many women don’t struggle with money because they lack discipline or intelligence. They struggle because of unhealed experiences, survival patterns, and the quiet belief that they are “behind” or “disqualified.” This series gently challenges those beliefs while offering practical tools for peace, clarity, and long-term planning. Together, we will talk honestly about: Releasing shame and money anxiety Building stability as a form of self-respect and spiritual discipline Understanding money as a tool, not a source of worth Managing debt with clarity instead of condemnation Preparing for life’s unexpected moments without fear Laying a calm foundation for future ownership and legacy Each session blends practical financial education with reflection, conversation, and encouragement. There is no pressure to share personal numbers or experiences. You are welcome to speak, journal quietly, or simply listen. This is not about hustle. This is not about perfection. This is about alignment, wisdom, and peace. Who this series is for: Women who are starting over or rebuilding Women who want stability without stress Women preparing for future ownership or housing decisions Women who want their financial lives to reflect wholeness, not fear No prior financial knowledge is required. Come as you are. Bring a notebook. Leave a little lighter than you arrived. Light refreshments will be served along with 30 minutes of networking.

We'd love to have you join us. COTA bus #5 comes to W. 5th and Wyandotte Rd. And it's a minute walk to the restaurant. *** Did you know that there are atheists everywhere?!?! You may not know it, but we are! We're in your schools, diners, police force, military, government, and some are even still in your churches!
