The Power of Unity in Action (Free Event)
The Power of Unity in Action (Free Event)
The power of unity can easily be seen in how we come together in times of crisis. But what about after the immediate crisis has passed? Can spirituality help us harness the power of unity, regardless of circumstance, and despite our many differences? With each passing day, it seems like we are realizing more and more how interconnected we all are, how much we depend on one another. Old patterns of existence based on division aren’t working for us. Particularly in times of crisis, we see that we do better when we come together, when we’re able to support one another and draw strength from each other. But what if this power wasn’t limited to times of crisis? What if unity wasn’t just a lofty idea worth aspiring to but a strategy to be used in affecting positive change? Is there specific guidance we can follow, methods we can enact to help us create a more materially and spiritually advanced society? Come join a different kind of conversation – one that welcomes every perspective in a search for the truths that unite us all – as we discuss the spiritual perspective offered by the Bahá’í Teachings on the power of unity in helping us enact a social & spiritual transformation. Join us for a lively discussion as we explore the role of spirituality in helping us work with each other on the path towards the betterment of us all. “So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole world.” – Bahá’í Teachings \*\*\*This event is free and open to all regardless of background or belief. Donations will not be accepted.

Winter Solstice Poetry Hike at Sugarloaf Mountain
Winter Solstice Poetry Hike at Sugarloaf Mountain
Celebrate the passing of the seasons and the return of the sun on our Annual Sugarloaf Winter Solstice/Poetry Hike, an Adventuring tradition since 1997. This year we're able to do this hike on the actual day of the Solstice--Sunday, December 21, 2025. After varying the routine a bit last year, we will return to our usual 7-mile circuit, with lunch at White Rocks and climbing to the summit near the end. Expect some climbing and a variety of terrain, including some rocks. During our White Rocks lunch, we’ll share favorite poems in honor of the passing of another year. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station. So we can plan accordingly, please answer the Meetup questions about whether you’ll be meeting us at Grosvenor-Strathmore or Sugarloaf, and whether you can be a carpool driver. Those wishing to drive directly to Sugarloaf should contact Chris Craig for directions and time; you can email him directly at [ccraig@laurellodge.com](http://mailto:ccraig@laurellodge.com/). We'll all rendezvous by 10 a.m. in the West View parking lot—the one at the top of the drive. Bring a bag lunch (we will NOT be stopping at a Sheetz on the way), water, sturdy shoes, the $5 Adventuring fee, $5 to reimburse your carpool driver — and most important, a poem to share on the mountaintop (your own or someone else's). \>\> Please [click here](https://adventuringlgbtq.com/Adventuring_Release_Form.pdf) to review our release form. When you RSVP to an event, you affirm that you have read and agree to the terms of the release.

SFS 1-10: Rites of Rekindling [Lvls 1-2]
Deep in the Vast, the dying star Sota has miraculously rekindled, bathing the frozen planet Lajok in glorious light and blessing thousands of the planet’s inhabitants with a solar spark. As scientists and skeptics ponder this inexplicable twist of fate, vlakas the galaxy over undertake the sojourn home to witness this miracle for themselves and celebrate Sota’s revival. Thanks to a coincidental meeting, the Starfinder Society has been invited to participate in one such celebration: the Rekindling Festival in Sour Spring. When strange occurrences and a missing relic cast a shadow over the celebrations, it’s up to the Starfinders to investigate. Is someone to blame for Sour Spring’s misfortunes, or is Rekindling cursed? A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 2nd-level characters, playable in 2-3 hours. Honoring the Spirit of Giveaway: Food, Ceremony & Crystal Offering
Honoring the Spirit of Giveaway: Food, Ceremony & Crystal Offering
**Spirit of Giveaway Gathering** You are warmly invited to gather with us in the gentle spirit of generosity, gratitude, and shared abundance. This is a sacred time to honor the season through giving—not from obligation, but from the heart. Throughout the gathering, we will enjoy a shared spread of appetizers, so please bring a dish to offer if you feel called. As we eat and commune together, we open space for connection, kindness, and the natural flow of giving and receiving. The Spirit of Giveaway is not a time for clearing out unwanted items, but for offering something meaningful—an object that carries intention, beauty, or personal significance. Many of us serve as caretakers of sacred tools and talismans, and when the time comes for an item to change hands, it becomes a powerful act of trust and devotion. You may bring something you feel guided to give to a specific person, or place your offering into the central circle where any member of the community may be intuitively drawn to receive it. During this gathering, most items in our crystal shop will also be available on a “name your price” basis. Twenty-five percent of all proceeds will be donated to a local soup kitchen, extending our circle of giving beyond these walls and into the wider community. This event will immediately follow our **11am Ring of the Bowls Sound Bath Meditation**, creating a beautiful flow from deep listening into sacred exchange. All are welcome, as long as you arrive with an open mind and a respectful heart. We look forward to sharing this gentle celebration of giving with you. ✨ 📍 Directions Address: 15406 Riding Stable Rd. (property is at the end of a ½ mile driveway into the woods). You will cross a small stream—drive slowly (under 10 MPH) to keep dust down. Please be mindful of our neighbors and do not stop to interact with horses along the way. With Love & Gratitude
Dec Meetup: The Sweet Hereafter by Russell Banks
Dec Meetup: The Sweet Hereafter by Russell Banks
Note: RSVPs for this meetup open when our previous meetup ends. For December, we will be reading The Sweet Hereafter by Russell Banks. The novel was first published in 1997 and the paperback version runs 272 pages. The blurb from Amazon is: In The Sweet Hereafter, Russell Banks tells a story that begins with a school bus accident. Using four different narrators, Banks creates a small-town morality play that addresses one of life's most agonizing questions: when the worst thing happens, who do you blame?

Leave the Past Behind, Burning Bowl Ceremony at Unity of Columbus
Leave the Past Behind, Burning Bowl Ceremony at Unity of Columbus
As we prepare to enter a new year, the Burning Bowl Ceremony offers a powerful and heartfelt opportunity to let go of what no longer serves us and make space for new beginnings. You are warmly invited to join us for this sacred and reflective ritual. The Burning Bowl Ceremony is a beloved Unity tradition—an empowering moment where we release old patterns, worries, or limiting beliefs by writing them down and symbolically releasing them into the flame. This act of letting go opens the door to clarity, peace, and transformation.
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for January is "Chemistry" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 7:00 pm, show starts at 7:30 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
White Stone Ceremony – A New Name, A New Beginning
White Stone Ceremony – A New Name, A New Beginning
You are invited to participate in one of Unity’s most meaningful and empowering traditions—the **White Stone Ceremony**. As we enter a new year, this sacred ritual gives you the opportunity to listen within, connect with Spirit, and claim a new name or intention for your life. In ancient times, receiving a white stone symbolized freedom, new identity, and fresh possibility. Today, we continue that tradition by holding a smooth white stone, entering a quiet meditation, and allowing Spirit to reveal a word, name, or message that reflects who you are becoming.
