$29 per person for 2 hours of training (includes table hire)
## 🏓 MELBOURNE TABLE TENNIS COACHING @ MSAC
Ready to seriously improve your table tennis — or finally start the right way?
Join our **ongoing in-person group coaching sessions at MSAC**, where you’ll train in a structured but fun environment with players who come regularly, as well as new faces every week.
Our sessions are designed for **both total beginners and advanced players.** You don’t need experience — and you won’t be bored if you already have it.
### What to expect
* ✅ **10–15 players per session**
* ✅ **2 experienced coaches on court**
* ✅ **Structured drills + match play**
* ✅ **Individual feedback based on your level and goals**
* ✅ **A welcoming group that trains regularly**
You’ll work on **technique, footwork, consistency, tactics, and real match situations** — not just hit balls randomly. We organise the group so everyone is challenged at the right level.
### Why people love these sessions
* Ongoing training with a real community
* Fast improvement, not just social play
* A great way to **move, learn, and make friends**
* Fun, supportive atmosphere with serious coaching behind it
Whether your goal is to **learn from scratch, get fitter, sharpen your skills, or start competing**, this is a perfect place to train.
### What to bring
* 🏓 **Bat/paddle** (if you have one — if not, we’ll provide it)
* 👟 **Sports shoes (runners)**
* 👕 **Comfortable sports clothes**
* 💧 **Water bottle**
* 🧴 **Small towel**
Grab your paddle, bring your energy, and come hit with us at MSAC.
Please send me an email to:
p.tretinik@gmail.com
to confirm attendance. This helps me to book enough table for a smooth session.

Pickleball \| Singles \| 20s\, 30s\, 40s \| Ditch the Apps\. Hit the Courts\. DateColumbus Pickleball League
**8 Weeks of Singles Pickleball - you joining us?!**
Summer is calling, and we've got better plans for you than swiping right.
DateColumbus's Pickleball League is back — 8 weeks of casual open play, rotating partners, new connections, and honestly? A really good time. Whether you've never held a paddle in your life or you've been playing for years, this league was built for you to show up, get moving, and meet people IRL.
**Never played before? You're in the right place.** For the first three weeks, we'll have on-site instructors ready to walk you through the basics in the first 30 minutes — no experience needed, no pressure, just good vibes and a little coaching. Our volunteers are also on-site every Monday to get you settled on the courts, introduce you around, and make sure you leave with at least a few new faces in your contacts.
**How it works:** We run open play — meaning you'll rotate courts AND partners throughout the night. Winners stay for one round before rotating, so there's always someone new to meet, rally with, and maybe grab a drink with after. Maximum mingling. Maximum fun.

Cherokee Double Wall Basket Weaving Workshop - Newark Earthworks - $140, 9a-1p
This workshop offers more than a class—it is a hands-on cultural experience rooted in patience, precision, and ancestral knowledge.
Learn the fundamentals of Cherokee double-wall basket construction, a technique known for its strength, balance, and visual depth. This style creates two walls woven simultaneously, resulting in a seamless, durable basket that holds both function and story. Each kit thoughtfully includes pre-soaked and hand-dyed reed, core weaving materials, and guidance through every step of the process. You’ll learn proper starts, shaping, tension control, and how the inner and outer walls work together as one structure.
Designed to be accessible for beginners and deeply satisfying for experienced weavers, this workshop emphasizes respect for materials, intentional making, and the rhythm of the hands. With proper supervision, older children and teens may participate, making this an excellent intergenerational learning experience.

Whether you’re reconnecting with tradition, learning a new skill, or creating something meant to last, this workshop is an invitation to slow down, weave with intention, and carry knowledge forward—one row at a time.
This workshop is led by Renata Cauthon, a Cherokee artist and enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation, and one of the few IACB-listed Cherokee artists in Ohio.
Beginning her professional art career in 2023, Renata has participated in several exhibitions across the country, including juried art shows. Her work is featured in her tribe’s official gift shop as well as several museum shops, blending traditional Cherokee design with contemporary storytelling to explore identity, resilience, and cultural continuity.
The 2025 Reach Indigenous Advocacy Indigenous Advocate of the Year has worked tirelessly to provide access to Cherokee culture in Ohio through partnerships like her work with Fort Ancient Earthworks & Nature Preserve — part of the UNESCO-listed Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks.
Since 2024, Renata has led hands-on workshops at Fort Ancient, giving visitors the opportunity to experience Cherokee traditions as living, evolving practices. She is honored to share Cherokee cultural knowledge, inspire understanding of Ohio’s Indigenous history, and invite visitors to explore and engage with her art.
Fun & easy way to play more tennis (read event description)
We’re still working to get more people into these Meetups, but our goal is to give PlayYourCourt members a few social tennis outings each week in addition to your practice sessions and Challenge League matches.
These Meetups are co-ed, super laid back, and all skill levels are welcome. Post your skill level and a suggested court in the comments section so we can round up as many players as we can for some tennis fun!
Also, if you’re looking to meet new practice partners or play some matches and you aren’t already in the PlayYourCourt Community, you can go here to see what we’re all about and sign up:
https://www.playyourcourt.com/tennis-community/columbus-oh/meetup/
If you love tennis, we’d love to have you! Be sure and watch the quick video that explains how everything works.
Happy hitting!
