***Join us for this serene and moderately challenging stretch of the famous Bruce Trail.***
This part of the Bruce Trail will take us through lively forests, along Grindstone Creek, and past the dramatic drop of Smokey Hollow Waterfall. Starting at the concrete tunnel under Highway 6 near Waterdown, the trail drops you immediately into deep forests that will make you forget how close you are to the city. Rolling climbs, creek crossings, and rooted terrain keep you on your toes until you hit Smokey Hollow Waterfall: a wide curtain of water spilling over a limestone shelf into a shaded gorge. Beyond the falls, you'll have the trail largely to yourselves as you explore deeper into nature with your fellow adventurers. From there, the path opens into a long gradual climb before flattening out into honest, easy walking to King Road.
**Total distance is 17.4 km out-and-back, with 485 metres of elevation gain. This is a solid step up from a beginner day hike but still doable for people with a good fitness level. You'll leave it feeling that sweet satisfaction of accomplishment.**
**Highlights**
**Smokey Hollow Waterfall:** Expect a wide curtain of water spilling over a limestone shelf into a shaded gorge. It's the natural midpoint of the hike and worth every climb to get there.
**Grindstone Creek:** The trail runs alongside the creek for much of the first half, weaving through shaded forest with the sound of water keeping you company**.**
**Secluded Nature Close to the City:** Just outside Burlington and about an hour from Toronto, you’ll step onto the trail and be immediately swallowed by nature with nothing around you but trees and creeks.
**Event cost: $60+HST (for explorer members) - $30 optional transport available.**

**About Wilderness Union**
Wilderness Union is deliberate about building an outdoors community that connects you to the life-changing magic of the outdoors and helps you find your people.
Members range from 20-40 years old. The group is a mix of GTA locals and newcomers to Toronto from within Canada and abroad.
Attendance numbers on Meetup don't reflect our actual event attendance - we typically have 15-20 community members at each event. Large enough that there's someone new to meet but small enough that it's not overwhelming!

This is an informal conversation group for anyone wanting to practice / use their French and meet some new people. All levels are welcome, but having a conversational level is strongly recommended (and of course native French speakers are very welcome too!).
🌳🍦 ST. CLAIR WEST VILLAGE WALK, WYCHWOOD PARK, ICE CREAM & MORE! 🍦🌳
Hidden Streets, Storybook Homes & Some of Toronto’s Best Ice Cream
Some parts of Toronto feel like you've accidentally wandered into a completely different city.
Join us for a relaxed social walk through St. Clair West and the hidden enclave of Wychwood Park — one of Toronto's most unique and exclusive residential communities.
Wychwood Park is private, residential, and unlike anywhere else in the city. The homes are all architecturally distinct — no cookie-cutter subdivisions here. Living in Wychwood Park involves a waiting list, board approval, and community guidelines designed to preserve the character of the neighbourhood.
It feels almost village-like... peaceful, artistic, and slightly secret.
This is not a formal historical tour.
It's a social walk with beautiful surroundings, interesting neighbourhoods, and good conversation.

🚶♂️ What We'll Do
We'll begin by walking west along St. Clair, taking in the neighbourhood and exploring some of the area's hidden gems.
Along the way we'll stop at Dutch Dreams for ice cream — one of Toronto's most famous ice cream destinations. 🍦
From there we'll wander through the winding streets of Wychwood Park before making a stop at Artscape Wychwood Barns to browse the market and community space.
Afterward, we'll make our way back toward St. Clair and finish at Grandma Loves You, a local favourite known for some of the best sandwiches in Toronto. 🥪
You are welcome to join us for food or continue back to the subway station.
Sometimes the best part of these walks is simply discovering places you never knew existed.

5K every week till the snows come down! Or try to!
We'll meet by the track. I'll be there early to warm up. We will start the 5K exactly at 9:30am. As mentioned in the About Us,
* Using the park track we can all go at our own pace and never really be left behind unless we all finish way ahead of you. :D I think an hour is enough time to dedicate to the run. I'm pretty slow, so you will likely have me around for most of the hour.
* Members are free to leave the run whenever they want.
* Bring your kids, your pets, your partners, etc.
* All encouraged to stick around afterwards and enjoy the park or neighbourhood on your own.
* Let's get stronger, healthier and foster a great community at the same time.
We also welcome runners who are not in our neighbourhood and want to join us spiritually and run from their own neighbourhoods. :-) Imagine how much healthier and communal the world would be if we all stopped for an hour once in a while to run together; re-centring and re-charging together?
You will learn the basics, forehand, backhand, volley, serve and smash. Eventually, can move into games playing doubles.
The fee includes balls, water and use of the court. The court is at a private residence near Bayview and Lawrence and the address will be disclosed in our group chatroom.
Please dm your number to me to add to our group chat. Hope we get many people out to have fun learning the basics of tennis.
