Dragons Keep Role Play Games in South East London
**We are currently full. Should you want to attend, please contact our organisers first via our website.**
We meet every Friday to play various Tapletop Role Playing Games (RPGs). Our venue is in Chislehurst, South East London within easy reach of Bexley, Bromley, Dartford, Eltham, Lewisham, Greenwich, Orpington and Sidcup.
Doors open at 19:00 for our ‘kebab chat’ to catch up and discuss all things geeky! Feel free to bring your own food and drink.
Our games usually start by 19:45 and end around 23:00 (although time is not a limit should the group be happy to play longer).
If you’re interested in joining or running a game, please either message the management team or drop a message in the chat below. We are open to playing all RPG’s if there is an interest.
You can find out more Dragons Keep on our website: https://www.dragonskeep.co.uk or on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/DragonsKeepUK
London daytime testing at Waterloo
We playtest all sorts of games - strategic, silly, creative, or whatever. Some games are almost done. Some are very early ideas. We test anything that will fit into 90 minutes.
You don't need to bring a game - we always love to have new playtesters!
Please let us know in the comments when you plan to arrive/leave and whether you are bringing a game or not. This helps us to plan the day better.
The schedule is:
10am onwards - gathering, chatting
11am sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 1')
12:30ish - break for food/chat
1pm sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 2')
2:30ish - break for food/chat
3pm sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 3')
4:30ish - finish up
Often, we might hang around afterwards, to play some already-published games.
We are strict on timings, so please try to arrive a few minutes before the session to limit disruption.
You can just come for part of the day if you wish. The reason we have fixed timings for the 3 'slots' is to make it easier for folk to do so.
Designers of all levels of experience are welcome! But if it's your first time, we ask that you don't bring a game and just spend some time learning how the group works.
The group works based on reciprocation. If you expect to test your own game, make sure stay for long enough to play other games. As a general rule of thumb, you can expect to play one of your own games every third 90-minute session. So if you stay a whole day (3 sessions), you can expect to have one session to play your game(s). A good rule of thumb is that if you come all day, you will have one 90 minute session with two other playtesters in which to test your own games. It is sometimes possible to test games with more players. If your game requires 4 or more, please note that as standard you will be allocated half of a session (45 minutes).
Pre-covid, we were getting unmanageable. As a result, we may have to limit attendees. This is a free-to-use venue, and we have to be mindful that other folk want to use the same space.
Please note: This is an adults only event.
We look forward to seeing you!

**🚀 WHAT HAPPENS AT OUR MEETUPS? 🚀**
Your friendly game leader will explain the rules and then we'll play a few rounds (about 20-30mins each) with some social time in-between to laugh about who got infected and how! At the end of the meetup we usually hang out until the owls are hooting
**⚡ HOW DOES THE GAME WORK? ⚡**
This game uses the free PlayCulture App ([playculture.com/app](https://www.playculture.com/app)). Players divide into **Survivors** and **Zombies**. Survivors try to evade the Zombies (using the danger compass to see where they are), and can pick up health packs to stay alive for longer. If a Zombie gets too close they can infect you! If you get infected you become a Zombie and join the hunt! At the end you will see a leaderboard showing everyone’s scores. You can watch our **Player Tutorial Video** to learn more [https://youtu.be/waan3osJ1gI](https://youtu.be/waan3osJ1gI)
**🎈 CAN I BRING MY FRIEND? 🎈**
Absolutely! If you want you can stick together and play as a ninja team! Just select extra tickets if you are bringing someone with you

Board, card & dice games night at my place or The George (depending on numbers)
Hi everyone!
(pre-pandemic information)
If you like to play modern board, card and dice games, and to meet new people, then join us on Monday evenings from 6pm until the pub closes around 11pm.
Feel free to bring your own games if you have them, but don't worry if you don't as regular members will bring some along. And of course, we'll teach you how to play them if you don't know already.
You work late? No worries - you can join us any time before closing (11pm), so if you don't arrive at 6pm (attendees tend to arrive around 6:30 or 7pm), don't worry :-) Everyone comes and goes when they like, so it is possible that you may be the first to arrive or the last to leave,
Please write in the comments what time you expect to arrive at the pub, so we can try to avoid anyone having to wait alone for long.
We are a relaxed and friendly group, made up of both natives and foreigners, of locals and those living further afield, happy to welcome newbies and regulars.
Events are free to attend, but it is respectable to the public venues we hold them at if you can buy at least one drink or some food while you are present, just like anyone else at the pub would do.
If you would like to contribute towards the costs of running of this group, feel free to buy the host(s) a drink of their choice when you see them, for which they'd be very grateful. This saves money that can be put towards the Meetup subscription fees and buying the games that we all play.
The George is a reasonably-priced 'local' pub in the Docklands, near Canary Wharf, just 1 minute walk from Crossharbour DLR station, or about 15 minutes walk from the Canary Wharf Jubilee line station. Various TFL buses stop nearby.
Don't forget to join our group on Facebook for games news, articles, memes, gossip and banter: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Tabletop.Gamers.London.Docklands/

D&D 5th Edition : Into The Borderlands
**This Campaign is full and not currently accepting new players.**
*“The Realm of mankind is narrow and constricted. Always the forces of Chaos press upon its borders, seeking to enslave its populace, rape its riches, and steal its treasures. If it were not for a stout few, many in the Realm would indeed fall prey to the evil which surrounds them. Yet, there are always certain exceptional and brave members of humanity, as well as similar individuals among its allies, who rise above the common level and join battle to stave off the darkness which would otherwise overwhelm the land. Bold adventurers from the Realm set off for the Borderlands to seek their fortune. It is these adventurers who, provided they survive the challenge, carry the battle to the enemy. Such adventurers meet the forces of Chaos in a testing ground where only the finest return to relate the tale. Here, these individuals will become skilled in their profession, be it fighter or wizard, cleric or rogue. They will be tried in the fire of combat, those who return, hardened and more fit. True, some few who do survive the process will turn from Law and good and serve the masters of Chaos, but most will remain faithful and ready to fight chaos wherever it threatens to infect the Realm.*
*You are indeed members of that exceptional class, adventurers who have journeyed to the Keep on the Borderlands in search of fame and fortune. Of course you are inexperienced, but you have your skills and a heart that cries out for adventure. You have it in you to become great, but you must gain experience and knowledge and greater skill. There is much to learn, and you are willing and eager to be about it!*
*Ahead, up the winding road, atop a sheer-walled mount of stone, looms the great Keep. Here, at one of civilization's strongholds between good lands and bad, you will base yourselves and equip for forays against the wicked monsters who lurk in the wilds.”*

The London Dungeons & Dragons Meetup
**\*\*\* YOU NEED TO PURCHASE A VENUE TICKET. PLEASE SEE BELOW \*\*\***
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO TAKE PART?
**1\. You *must* RSVP using the Attend button on this page.** That's true for both DMs and players.
**2.** You must be **18+** to attend.
**3\. YOU MUST REGISTER AND BUY A VENUE TICKET** [HERE](https://www.arcadiagames.co.uk/meetup/p/23-may)**. Venue tickets are £6 per person (for players and DMs).** If you don't have a card for online purchases, please PM Zander, the Meetup Organiser as soon as you can. The Arcadia site may say that your event doesn't have a DM, but don't worry, it will. That just means that your DM will be a Meetup DM, not an Arcadia DM.
**4.** Please **check in with the Arcadia** **team** behind the bar of 'The Tavern', a communal room on the first floor. Then find **Zander**, the Meetup Organiser in 'The Square', another communal room on the same floor. You'll then be assigned to a game.
TIMES
Please ensure you arrive **by 12.30pm** (at noon for DMs). If you arrive late, it may not be possible to find you a game.
If you're part of a group of two or more, you all have to be 18+, RSVP for yourselves (no 'plus ones') and arrive just after 12pm on the day, not 12.30pm. If you arrive at 12.30pm, you'll still be able to play, but may be placed in different games.
DO I NEED TO KNOW THE RULES OF D&D? DO I HAVE TO BRING OR PREPARE ANYTHING?
**You don't have to have any knowledge of D&D's rules or have previous experience of D&D or another tabletop role-playing game.**
You don't have to bring or prepare anything. We can lend you everything you need including a pre-generated character.
If you want to bring or create your own character, please just after 12pm and discuss your character with your assigned DM. Please respect their decision in the unlikely event that they say you have to use a pre-generated character. They may have story or rules reasons they can't disclose.
DUNGEON MASTERING
We're always on the look-out for DMs. If you'd like to DM, please PM Zander in the Organiser list ASAP.
VENUES AND MONEY MATTERS
The venue is a businesses and, as such, relies on us spending on food and drink while we are there. Our continued use of the venue is dependent upon it. Please spend as much as you reasonably can; if you're thinking of having lunch at the venue, please do. The venue has vegetarian and vegan options. The venue accept payment by card, cash, Apple Pay and Google Pay, so please bring one of those.
Please do NOT bring drink from outside except tap water in a transparent plastic bottle. Please do NOT bring food from outside. Bringing food or drink (except tap water) from outside can result in you being permanently banned by the venue's management.
HYGIENE
If you're ill or suspect you're coming down with a contagious sickness such as covid or flu, please do **NOT** attend. If you're unwell, you may be asked to leave.
DOGS AND PETS
Guide dogs are absolutely fine. Other dogs and pets aren't permitted.
\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~
If you have any questions not answered above, please PM Zander, the Organiser.
Sunday Dungeons & Dragons Meetup
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO TAKE PART?
You just need to RSVP using the button on this page, and show up on Sunday. That is true for both DMs and players.
You must be 18+ to attend.
If this is your first time or looking to join a game, please find the Sunday Hosts Edward or Jason on your arrival. We will point you towards a game you can join.
There is no charge, membership fee or subscription. However, a collection tin may be circulated by the Organiser/Assistant Organiser/Host towards the running of the Meetup. There is a recommended donation of £2 cash per attendee (DM or player), but contributions are purely voluntary: you are under no obligation. We do not track or record who donates what
TIMES
Please ensure you arrive between 12:30pm and 1.00pm. **If you arrive later than 1pm, it may not be possible to find you a game.**
I'VE NEVER PLAYED BEFORE, IS THAT A PROBLEM?
Nope! You do not have to have previous experience of D&D or another tabletop role-playing game. We will have newbie-friendly games on Sunday.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO BRING?
Nothing. If you have dice, paper and pencil, and a Player’s Handbook, then bring them, but it’s not a problem if you don’t. We can lend you everything you need including a pre-generated character.
I'M NOT FROM THE UK, THAT ISN'T A PROBLEM, RIGHT?
Actually, we have loads of members from other countries; at times, we’ve had more ex-pats than Brits. We get a lot of people joining who’ve just moved to London from another country, left their old D&D friends behind, and who are looking for a new gaming group, so you don’t need to worry about not fitting in.
The one catch is that your English does need to be OK. You don't have to be perfectly fluent, but roleplaying’s a language-based activity and if your listening isn't decent you may have trouble following what’s going on. Lots of our members speak more than one language, but we can't guarantee that we can place you in a game with someone who can interpret for you.
DUNGEON MASTERS
We are always on the look-out for DMs. If you would like to run a game, please PM Edward_w or Jason Sia.
HYGIENE & ANTI-COVID GUIDELINES
If you are symptomatically ill or suspect/know you have caught covid in the last 10 days but are asymptomatic, please do NOT attend.
Please wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth and/or a face shield whenever possible. This is not a rule, merely a request.
Please wash your hands and/or use hand sanitiser gel frequently.
If you test positive for covid after attending an event, please contact Zander the Meetup Organiser, immediately. If possible, please let Zander know your Dungeon Master's name.
**VENUES AND MONEY MATTERS**

Saturday Tabletop Games at Premiere Cinemas
It's **Saturday** & our main night of the week & the fun & games are just getting started here at DWL!
We're located here in the Cinema (which can be found on the 3rd floor of the Mercury Mall Shopping Centre) on:
* **Tuesdays & Thursdays**: From 17:30 to 22:00.
* **Saturdays**: From 12:00 to 22:00
🦁 And we're still running every Monday 6pm to 11pm at the Golden Lion Pub too.
🌭☕ There are hot & cold food & drink options available from the cinema at low prices!
Supporting Premiere Cinema by buying their food & drink IS supporting Dicing With Life! The cinema has been very generous to us by bringing us into their space & our way of showing our gratitude is by sending some business their way.
And their menu is surprisingly cheap! Especially compared to any other cinema.
Here's some cool examples of some great **offers**:
Buy a large **Popcorn** (it's a huge bucket!) or a large **fizzy drink** & it'll initially cost you £4, BUT, take your bucket or cup back to the bar for a **refill** & the cinema will refill it back up to the top for just £2! 🍿🥤
That's half price Popcorn & Pop!
This also applies to **Ice Blasts** too (£5 initially but to refill it's just £3).
There's also Hot Dogs, Nachos, Pick n Mix & many other treats in store too! Check out their menu 😋
If you have any questions, please ask & let the fun commence! 🎲
Drop-in Saturday Games & Social @ The Thirsty Bear
If you're looking for a laid back Saturday playing some board games and talking nerd stuff in a pub with some awesome people, this is the meetup for you! Whether you're new to London or just want to get some long-lost in-person socialisation, we're a friendly community and welcome you all.
**What to expect:** We officially play from **2 PM to 7 PM**, but we keep it casual. Show up when you can, and stay as long as you like. If you’re having a good time, there’s usually a group that stays late for a few extra pints and chat.
**Some house rules:**
* We aim to ensure these events are friendly, welcoming and safe, and so we ask you abide by our [Code of Conduct](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YEl0gv61SkBFN-YF6fyVvuQYicWbWhRL/view?usp=drive_link)
* We have a community box of games we keep in the pub, but please feel welcome to bring your own games along. Just be prepared to teach us how to play!
* We don't charge a cover fee, so please help support the pub by ordering food and drink throughout the afternoon.
* Please keep your RSVPs updated so we can manage numbers and ensure we can reserve enough tables.
Relaxed Mafia (Beginner Friendly)
## Welcome to Relaxed Mafia
Come and play Mafia, an exciting social deduction game, in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Players of all levels of experience are welcome, including complete beginners.
There is a recommended donation of between £5 and £10 to help us to cover our Meetup fees. If you can't afford this though, then don't let this stop you coming!
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Sunday Gaming at The Wapping Tavern
**You will find us in the games area in the lower section of the pub.**
Please ensure you read these: [Rules](https://www.londononboard.com/rules-regulations)
We don't allow Chess, Scrabble, Monopoly, Roleplaying games, Magic the Gathering, Mafia, Werewolf etc. at LoB as there are other venues or groups for that and we want to make sure that there is enough space for board games.
We want everyone that comes to our events to have a good time, and we know that some games require more communication than others. Please be mindful that we are in a small space and that other members will need to explain rules and focus.
As a small group of volunteers, we are very dependent on the good will of our venues to host us for free. It is vitally important that everyone attending LoB buys food and drink to ensure that we can build and maintain those relationships with our venues. If you have any feedback about the venue, please report it to us directly rather than speaking to the staff.
You must only attend if you have a place, i.e. that you have made it off the waitlist. If you can no longer attend, please mark your RSVP as ‘Not Going’, ideally more than an hour before the event starts. Please be aware that an organiser may ask to see proof of RSVP.
