**Please note BEFORE BOOKING** This meetup event allows you to book ONE 6 x 4 gaming table at Bad Moon Cafe Holloway Road, for yourself and your opponent(s). ’There is no charge at the time of booking, but each player will need to pay their £9 table charge on arrival at Bad Moon Cafe (this normally means a total of £18 per pair of players at a table).** **Important** \- though no payment is taken in advance\, LWG will be charged for no\-shows or those that do not cancel their booking more than 48 hours from the start time \(which is 6pm Wednesdays\)\. **Please let us know if you won’t be able to attend!** At this notice, games can be deferred but this is done via contacting your host to have you added manually to a future event. Join OverBoard to play the brilliant social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower in person at the brand new board game cafe Otter Chaos in Brixton. If you haven’t heard of Blood on the Clocktower before it is an evolution of classic party games like Mafia/Werewolf where a hidden evil team takes on the good team by lying and killing. The good team has a few tricks up their sleeve but will have to work together to deduce who the evil doers are in their midst. **This is a beginner friendly event so no experience with the game is necessary.** Please note that a gaming cover charge of \~£5 will be payable by each attendee to the venue so that we can make use of the space. We also encourage you to buy food and drink from the bar so we are supporting the business (I can highly recommend their pizzas!) Hi everyone! (pre-pandemic information) If you like to play modern board, card and dice games, and to meet new people, then join us every Wednesday evening, for as long as you like between the hours of 6pm and 11pm (when the pub closes). Feel free to bring your own games if you have them, but don't worry if you don't as there are plenty that live at the pub, and plenty more that regular members bring along. And of course, we'll teach you how to play them if you don't know already. You work late? No worries - you can come along any time before closing (11pm), so if you don't arrive at 7pm (when attendees trickle in), don't worry! Everyone comes and goes whenever they like, so it is possible that you may be the first to arrive or last to leave. You don't have to be perfectly fluent, but roleplaying’s a language-based activity and if your listening isn't decent you may have trouble following what’s going on. Venue: Civil Service Club Date/Time: Sunday 18 January, 3-8pm and possibly beyond! First timers - please kindly read below about bringing your board, meetup fee, purchasing drinks and food, Etiquette etc Dear Backgammon Lovers, We had an absolute blast at Gest, with around 25 backgammoners turning up for an evening of dice, laughter, a ton of doubles, and delicious food... well mine was great! The staff, the venue, were all top-notch. It was fantastic to welcome many new backgammoners and to catch up with so many familiar faces. For now we will also continue to meet at the CSC which has it's own individual charm. Social Backgammon Whether you're a seasoned backgammoner or a newbie looking to learn this fabulous game, our social event is open to all. This is also the perfect chance to sharpen your game, and share a laugh (or a lucky double six!) over backgammon. Add in a drink, maybe dinner, and you’ve got the recipe for a fun and relaxed evening. Venue Food and Drink Just a little reminder that when we use the Civil Service Club, we’re asked to buy at least one drink whilst we’re there! The Club also has a nice range of food and snacks on offer, all at really good prices, so it’s a great chance to relax and make the most of the day. About our backgammon social group Our group has been running for 10 years since June 2015 and we have held over 450 official backgammon meetings - along with a further 200 off-grid (non meetups) since then. We are the largest backgammon group in the UK with nearly 2,000 backgammon members. What makes our group special are its members and the warmth, humour and friendliness whilst playing this splendid social game over a few drinks... usually fortnightly, and on a Sunday. We have about 30-odd regular members who play socially and we very much welcome new players too - so do come along. Dinner Time and Drinks and Food In between the rounds of backgammon many of us sit for a meal around 6pm, but you can order drinks and food whenever you like. RSVP Please RSVP asap - . Often I need to provide the Club with an indication of numbers. Bring your own Backgammon Board - no problem if initially you don't have one. Love seeing the different styles and size of boards - my boards have somehow gotten larger over the years. Meetup Fee I will ask for £4 as the meetup fees etc have increased substantially over the past year or two. This also assists paying other admin costs including Club membership and tips. Our courses provide guidance on a simple and proven method of meditation, giving participants the experience of stillness and quiet, leading to full instruction in the practice. The course begins with **three weekly evening group sessions**, held from 7pm for approximately two hours and including a light supper.
