So with AI emerging, it can feel like a lifeline: faster prototyping, '*deeper*' research, and more concepts to explore. But somewhere between the third AI-generated prototype and losing the thread of your prompted designs, it can become painfully obvious what the impact is of designing with LLMs. We're not executing anymore, we're reviewing, approving, and critiquing, like a manager. This talk gets honest about what that actually means: the speed gains are real, but the cognitive debt is quietly compounding, and your future as a designer depends on understanding why. Explore how designers can protect their cognitive depth, enhance their review capacity, and stay in control when the machine can almost draw anything. **Talk 2:** **Growing UX in organisations that are not there yet.** By Koen Peters, Designer at Namahn More and more organisations are asking us to help build design expertise in-house, even putting together a design team for them. I have learnt that in such cases, you need to set aside your own biases and assumptions first: your neatly mapped-out methodology, your Figma dogmas and all the other things you as a design agency take for granted. The reality in these organisations is often very different: limited resources, no design culture and few or no trained designers on the team. Through a few client case studies, I will show how we have tackled such challenges. Organising a training in UX and design thinking is a good first step, offering a chance to get to know the team and identify which skills are already there and which are missing. I will also demonstrate tools and activities that we have used to help a team get started and become more aware of UX research and design. Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you were quoted in *Truth in Comedy*, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**! The idea behind improvised comedy is to create entire scenes from scratch. A suggestion is taken from the audience and laughter is built on the spot. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway, Make Some Noise,* or *Wild 'n Out*; it can also be done in a longer way, to tell a complicated story, like *TJ & Dave*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and FREE!) weekly comedy event, brings the games for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Afterward, many members will hang out in *Gresso's* itself and get to know each other. Not only is this a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, your public speaking, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and build relationships that will last a lifetime, and you do that while laughing your butt off! **Practical Curiosity: Learning from Everyday Data** How do we actually get better at utilizing our day-to-day data? Fancy dashboards and complex models might look nice and draw attention, but that’s not where most of us spend our time. In fact those shiny outputs frequently sit unused, while the real insights are drawn from the analyst’s daily practice. Sometimes it’s as simple and as powerful as noticing that a segment is shrinking, a channel is underused, or certain links keep getting all the clicks. There’s many different places that the spark of insight can come from, but you have to keep your head in the data and know where to look. In this session, we’ll explore real-world examples of how segmentation, testing, and click behavior can uncover practical digital marketing opportunities.
