**About the Teachers**
This workshop is led by Lorenz von Römer and Stéphane Piette, two passionate engineers who discovered improv together six years ago—and never looked back. Fascinated by how improv transforms communication, creativity, and confidence in both personal and professional life, they’ve been teaching and performing ever since.
With years of experience on stage and in the classroom, they’ve brought improv to audiences across Berlin and internationally, performing in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. In 2023, they founded *Check la Lage*, a monthly show that unites improvisers from different companies, and were key players, teachers, and coordinators for *Liber*, a long-standing French-German improv company in Berlin.Their approach blends technical precision with playful spontaneity, making improv accessible and impactful for everyone—whether you’re looking to boost your public speaking, connect more authentically, or simply have fun. Join them for a session where curiosity meets courage!

SU&W In-person Mitte
Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write! We will do at least two sessions of each 45 minutes of writing and two breaks. We will start the first writing session at 11:15.
**For space reasons, we are limited to a certain number of attendees, so please update your RSVP if you can't come**. We often have a large waiting list, and not updating your RSVP or not showing up if you do RSVP yes means that others miss out. We also ask that if you do change your RSVP, do it with reasonable notice. Thanks! We typically take over all of the cafe, but try to share tables if you can to allow space for other customers.
If you are new, come and say hello, as we know that suddenly going quiet for 45 minutes and staring at that blank page can be intimidating when it's your first time. We have a lot of long-term regulars who will be happy to help you feel welcome.
In between sessions, we have a Telegram chat: https://t.me/joinchat/ERW3pxD5kfELGeWs9SUhjw

Curious what we do? Check our [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/filmmakersandmovienerds/) ♥️
Would you like to meet some like-minded filmmakers? Start a project? Or do you need help with a movie you are currently working on? Are you new in the city and you'd like to meet people tinkering with movies?
**Then you should join us!**
We meet every Sunday. It’s important to us that we get to know each other in person. To create a community of connected people, work, learn and grow together. For film making you need a crew of reliable people with a positive can-do-attitude. This is the place to find them.
Together, we will talk about these topics:
* What you are currently working on
* What you need help with
* What would you like to help with
* What you you would like to learn
This is event is great for:
* filmmakers
* movie nerds
* writers
* camera operators
* editors
* actors
* sound recorders
* composers
* gaffers
* producers
We are limiting the amount of people, so we can have a structured introduction and discussion. After that we get together loosely with some drinks and chats. And then we mostly go for dinner with a couple of us.
**Important information**:
*To sustain and grow this amazing community, we started a member contribution that is due every month. The money we collect is used solely for the purpose of the community. Of course you can come once or twice without contributing to check us out!*

Films for Foodies - Spotlight on Ukraine 🇺🇦
In recent years, whenever Ukraine is mentioned, it usually has something to do with their brave defense against a brutal invasion. And while we should **not** be looking away from their ongoing struggle, it’s also important to continue to celebrate Ukraine’s broader history and the rich cultural traditions of the Ukrainian people 🌻
It’s only fitting that the first ever European edition of Films for Foodies shines the spotlight on a country known as “the breadbasket of Europe" 🌾
On Sunday March 1, we invite you to join us at the Kino & Bar in der Königstadt for a screening of a classic 1965 film widely considered to be one of the crown jewels of Ukrainian cinema (shown in original languages with English subs). Entry is donation based, and you are free to pay as much or a little as you feel is fair 🙏🏽
After the film, ReSee’s cinema supper club will walk a few short blocks to Pirouette, an elegant, ballet-inspired, German-Ukrainian restaurant serving up all the classics (as always, every guest pays their own way at dinner) 🇩🇪🇺🇦
Come for just the film, or for dinner, or spend the entire afternoon celebrating with the ReSee community! RSVP on Luma, as space is limited.

We hope to see you there 🖤
Productive Sunday Morning - Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all work welcome)
Hey everyone!
I’m organising a co-working + socialising session for all of us who like to work on something (e.g. our own project, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. 🙂
To ensure that we have both **socialising** AND **working**, we will be using the so called “Pomodoro” technique:
**50min of deep work** (silent), followed by **10min of break** to socialise. Then repeat! If you get into flow, you're also welcome to skip the breaks.
It’s an effective way to stay focused - you can read more about it [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique).
Anyone from any background is welcome, whatever project you are working on or whatever is your personal background.
I (the host) speak English and German, so either is fine :-)
——————————————————-
AGENDA:
* **15min Intro**
* Get to know everyone, talk about what you will work on today
* **Pomodoro Session** (3x) - *Each Pomodoro session consists* *of...*
* ...**50min** of uninterrupted “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, no phones)
* ...**10min** of break: share your progress with others, talk about what you are stuck on etc.
* Repeat
* Conclude and celebrate your progress
Share your progress, socialise and get to know others 😊
————
We'll be at the Social Hub Berlin (they have a food menu in case you get hungry). The structured part will end at 2:30pm, but you're welcome to stay longer, go for lunch together, or leave earlier. See you there 🩵
**\*\*We'll reserve the long table. Please update your RSVP in advance if you can't attend!\*\***
Lets Discuss Wuthering Heights (2026)
This time we will be discussing Wuthering Heights by Emerald Fennell which runs currently in the cinemas.
https://www.imdb.com/de/title/tt32897959/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
We’re a group of people who enjoy films and talking about films. We meet on Sunday in a cafe/bar and have a relaxed discussion about the film. We talk about how we felt about the film, and what we liked or disliked about it.
Don't forget to watch the film before joining the meetup :)
Tea ceremony & Slow Flow
Spring is arriving, and we’re welcoming it gently on March 1st with a special event at Art.OM - Tea ceremony & Slow Flow.
We begin with a 30-minute guided tasting of teas from Darjeeling region, led by Swikriti, exploring aroma, warmth, and subtle layers. While the name Darjeeling is celebrated worldwide, the farmers behind these hills are often overlooked. Small local growers continue to preserve traditional craftsmanship, and sharing their teas is a way to support them with intention and care.
From this grounded space, we move into a 1-hour slow flow yoga practice guided by Mia. The sequence links breath with gentle movement, inviting warmth, softness, and awareness. Through taste and movement, we cultivate presence - a quiet connection between body, senses, and intention.
Silent Reading / Creating Club at W66 (Saturday) [Luma to RSVP]
RSVP on Luma:
https://luma.com/zx2l0ais?utm_source=meetup
Silent Reading / Creating Club is a gathering for people who enjoy focusing together in public.
Bring a book, a notebook, a sketchpad, knitting needles — whatever you’d like to spend a quiet hour with. All projects and all participants are welcome.
This year is about creating more — quietly, consistently, imperfectly — and shaping environments that support that. If you’re building something of your own, you’re especially welcome here.
We’re building a community of readers and creators who value depth, presence, and shared silence. The magic isn’t just in the quiet hour — it’s in the people who return and make it feel like a familiar room.
(Please RSVP “yes” only if you can make it, so we can save a seat for you and others on the waitlist.)
This quiet ritual unfolds at **W66 Café**.
There’s no entrance fee, but please order at least one item from the café and don’t bring outside drinks 🙂
No assignments. No pressure. No productivity race. Just a shared hour of intentional silence, followed by relaxed conversation.
🕰 Our Agenda
**10:30 – 11:00**
Arrivals, ordering drinks/food, light social time
**11:00 – 12:00**
The Great Quiet Hour
(Read. Write. Sketch. Code. Think. Sit.)
**12:00 – 12:30**
Optional socializing — share what you were reading or creating, or simply continue in quiet focus.
## **🏡 House Guidelines**
To keep this space calm and welcoming for everyone:
• Silence during the focus hour (no calls or conversations)
• Phones on silent mode
• If using a laptop, please avoid meetings or audio — headphones welcome
• Arrive before 11:00 if possible to minimize disruptions
