Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all types of work welcome)
Hello! I’m organising a coworking + socialising session for all of us who are working on projects (e.g. our own creations, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. 🙂
To ensure that we have time for both socialising AND working, we will be using the so-called “Pomodoro” technique:
**50 mins deep work** (silent), followed by **10 mins break** to socialise. And then repeat!
You are welcome to join whatever your personal background is, and whatever project you are working on.
I (the host) speak English and German, so either language is fine.
——————————————————-
AGENDA:
* **Short Intro**
Tell us who you are and share something about what you will be working on today
* **Pomodoro Session** \- 3x \(3h\)
Each Pomodoro session consists of 50 mins focused “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, **phones on silent mode**)
-> then 10 mins break: a chance to share your progress with others
-> Repeat
* **15 mins Wrap Up**
Celebrate what you achieved and get to know others 😊
————
The location is **Espresso House near Checkpoint Charlie** (they have multiple outlets - so be sure to go to the correct one!)
Wifi + power plugs are available - but best to bring a fully charged laptop, just in case 🙃
You **do not** have to pay anything. But since we are using the café space, it is common courtesy to buy at least one drink (coffee costs roughly **4 Euros**).

* **[www.pakd-gallery.com/artlab](http://www.pakd-gallery.com/artlab**)**
* **Cost: 15 Euros**
A regular opportunity to study the nude or portrait from life for 3 hours, every single week!
We have one long pose - you can choose whether to draw several studies from different angles around the room, or take your time to do a single sustained drawing or painting in full detail.
The pose is held for 20 minute intervals with five minute breaks in-between so the model to rest and stretch, and so artists can move between seats if they choose.
We provide some materials such as paper, pencils & pastels for free. Canvases, brushes and acrylic paint can be purchased at the event.
We hope to see you there very soon!
SU&W In-person Mitte
Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write! We will do at least two sessions of each 45 minutes of writing and two breaks. We will start the first writing session at 10:15.
For space reasons, we are limited to a certain number of attendees, so please update your RSVP if you can't come. We are typically by the large windows facing the U-Bahn entrance.
If you are new, come and say hello, as we know that suddenly going quiet for 45 minutes and staring at that blank page can be intimidating when it's your first time. We have a lot of long-term regulars who will be happy to help you feel welcome.
In between sessions, we have a Telegram chat: https://t.me/joinchat/ERW3pxD5kfELGeWs9SUhjw

Filmmakers & Movie Nerds Meetup #168
Curious what we do? Check our [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/filmmakersandmovienerds/) ♥️
Would you like to meet some like-minded filmmakers? Start a project? Or do you need help with a movie you are currently working on? Are you new in the city and you'd like to meet people tinkering with movies?
**Then you should join us!**
We meet every Sunday. It’s important to us that we get to know each other in person. To create a community of connected people, work, learn and grow together. For film making you need a crew of reliable people with a positive can-do-attitude. This is the place to find them.
Together, we will talk about these topics:
* What you are currently working on
* What you need help with
* What would you like to help with
* What you you would like to learn
This is event is great for:
* filmmakers
* movie nerds
* writers
* camera operators
* editors
* actors
* sound recorders
* composers
* gaffers
* producers
We are limiting the amount of people, so we can have a structured introduction and discussion. After that we get together loosely with some drinks and chats. And then we mostly go for dinner with a couple of us.
**Important information**:
*To sustain and grow this amazing community, we started a member contribution that is due every month. The money we collect is used solely for the purpose of the community. Of course you can come once or twice without contributing to check us out!*
Screenwriting Focus Group | Filmmakers & Movie Nerds
**🎬 Screenwriters' Meetup Invitation 🎬**
This meetup is for anyone passionate about storytelling—whether you’re a screenwriter, filmmaker, producer, or someone with a great idea looking for the right collaborators. Whether you’re just starting out or deep into your screenplay, this is the perfect space to create, collaborate, and refine your work.
**When You Bring Your Screenplay, Think About Three Key Ingredients:**
1. **Your Main Character** – Who are they? What drives them?
2. **The Central Conflict** – What’s at stake? What’s standing in their way?
3. **The Theme** – What’s the deeper idea that motivates you to tell this story?
If you’re struggling to find a theme, define your character, or establish a strong conflict—don’t worry. That’s exactly what this meetup is for. We’re here to help you uncover the core of your story and give you the tools to develop it further.
Already have an elaborate story? Great! Reflect on these elements:
* **Compelling Characters** – Are they layered, dynamic, and memorable?
* **Inner Conflicts, Interpersonal Tensions, and Global Stakes** – Does your story operate on multiple levels?
* **A Strong, Personal Theme** – Does your theme resonate with you and give your story purpose?
If you can identify these elements, we can dive even deeper and give you focused, constructive feedback to help your screenplay reach its full potential.
Bring your ideas, your drafts, and your passion. Let’s collaborate, challenge each other, and create stories that matter. We can’t wait to see you there!

Program flow
6:30 PM — Introduction Presentation by Weavii
Dalila Cataldi and Fabio Muroni from Weavii will introduce the event and welcome the audience.
6:45 PM — Short film Premiere
“Antropico” by Matheo Fernandes (a Brazilian Film Director)
First Official Public Screening of “Antropico”
More about Matheo Fernandes: https://matheofernandes.com/
About “Antropico”:
In an indigenous land threatened by the presence of white settlers, Maria, an eighty-year-old artisan, confronts the pain of losing her husband. Months after his death, she awakens from a deep lethargy and decides to paint. Determined to overcome her existential near-death, Maria channels her sorrow into creating a work that may be one of her last ones.
This project was made possible with the support of the Brazilian Government, through the Ministry of Culture, with resources from the Paulo Gustavo Law (Lei Paulo Gustavo 2024).
7:15 PM — Short presentation by The Yaaba Film Company
Geronimo Coiro, Akvile Dubinskaite and Emre ACI will introduce The Yaaba Film Company to the audience. Ok
7:30 PM — Official screening
“M” by Fritz Lang – Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder (DE with EN subtitles)
Geronimo Coiro of The Yaaba Film Company will lead audiences into the unsettling world of Fritz Lang’s M, examining the moral, social, and psychological questions Lang sought to confront through the film. The discussion will explore what Lang expected audiences to wrestle with after leaving the cinema—particularly the private, uneasy conversations about justice, guilt, collective responsibility, and the nature of evil that M provokes.
Special attention will be given to Lang’s groundbreaking use of sound, narrative structure, and visual design in M, including his innovative approach to off-screen space, silence, and parallel editing, all of which deepen the film’s ethical tension. Geronimo will engage with M as if in a real-time dialogue with Fritz Lang, treating the film as an active conversation—questioning its assumptions, responding to its provocations, and tracing how its ideas continue to resonate with contemporary audiences.
The film encourages us to compare the past and the present, revealing both social change and enduring themes that continue to resonate today.
9:30 PM — Discussion & open exchange with the audience
Delicious Italian food will be provided to keep you well nourished for a great night of film! Drinks will also be available to purchase on site.

Il Sorpasso (The Easy Life)
A classic Italian road comedy that was so good the film ministry recognized it as "culturally significant." Starring Vittorio Gassman and Jean-Louis Trintignant, the film shows that for young men in love the rules of the road are only suggestions. And the rules for love? Hey, this is an Italian picture! Oh to be young and filled with joie de vivre or la dolce vita.
A french/italian fun filled movie with a surprising twist at the end.
Do you have a fun memory from your youth?
Location TBD, but it will be in person for sure!

Fun Friday: EPiC: ELVIS PRESLEY IN CONCERT at Lennox Phoenix Theater!
Join us for something different as we get together to see EPIC: ELVIS PRESLEY IN CONCERT! While researching the film, he came across 68 boxes of previously unseen interviews, concert performances and outtakes from previous films. Shut Up & Write!™ Easton Town Center
We'll meet at The Capital One Café, 167 Easton Town Center, Space A-103. This is in the main mall where the Microsoft store used to be, on your left if you're standing at the bottom of the AMC Theater escalator.
Join us on Saturday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking!
• What we'll do
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros.
10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you!
• What to bring
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block noise or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Electrical outlets are limited, so charge your devices before whenever possible.
See you at The Café on Saturday!
