Mountain Skills 1 Course
***Mountain Skills for Only âŹ120 / course***
Ever wanted to learn the skills you need to become a competent navigator in the Irish mountains, the UK, the Alps or beyond!
As a fully qualified mountain guide and course provider for Mountaineering Ireland and the UK, I run Mountain Skills which is a nationally accredited course and is delivered in an upland environment.
Hiking in Ireland can be challenging not only because of its wilderness, but the island has very little sign posted hiking trails in the mountains or hills. In addition to this, as being an island in the Atlantic we experience the forces of nature; storms and weather events. In other words, Ireland is probably the best place in Europe to learn a new outdoor skill like Mountain Skills.
The aim of this course is to help you learn the skills you need to get out hiking in the hills and mountains independently, safely and responsibly. You will learn how to navigate with confidence by any type of weather conditions.
A Mountain Skills course is run over 2 days in an upland environment and covers:
Map reading, map description, map scale, contour lines, land and ground features, navigation legs, simple navigation techniques, setting the map, the 5 D, estimation of direction & destination, grid reference, mountain hazards, hypothermia, mountain environment, timing, pacing, route planning, route card, emergency procedures, personal equipment, safe movement skills, river crossing and much moreâŚ
Some level of fitness is essential in taking part in this course.
Each course (MS1 / MS2) is a 20 hour syllabus which includes indoor and outdoor sessions and night navigation (MS2)
**A course includes:**
Maps and compass provided, tea breaks, course notes, 3 route cards, a free hiking day practice as part of a weekend.
**For Only âŹ100 for under 18 and students and âŹ120 for adults.**
Accommodations can be provided

[FREE] đľ The Offline Photo Walk đ¸ | Liffey Landscapes & Architecture
**The perfect way to see Dublin through a new lens.** đď¸â¨
**Weâre teaming up with our wonderful community member,** **Angie,** for a creative afternoon stroll as we capture the soul of the cityâwithout the digital distractions đľ. This isn't about "the 'gram"; it's about the art of looking. Weâre putting our phones on aeroplane mode and picking up our cameras to focus on the lines, light, and life along the River Liffey.
Angie loves capturing the hidden details of the city, and sheâll be co-hosting this walk to help us all find those perfect angles and unique perspectives.
𼞠The Route:
Weâll meet at the iconic **Samuel Beckett Bridge** and wind our way down the quays. Weâll be hunting for the best angles of Dublinâs architectural gems, including the **Custom House**, **Liberty Hall**, and the historic **Haâpenny Bridge**, where we will finish our journey.
* **Duration:** Approximately 2 hours.
* **The Finish Line:** For those who fancy a treat and a chat, weâll head to **Cinnamood** on OâConnell Street afterwards for some coffee and their famous cinnamon rolls! âď¸đ
***
đľ The Vibe:
Before we set off, weâll tuck our "connected" selves away and chat while creating art! đ¸
**Build Connection:** Even though we stay offline during the walk, the connection doesnât end there!
After the event, weâll encourage everyone to share their favourite "snaps" of the day our **WhatsApp group**. Itâs a lovely way to see how everyone saw the same city through different eyes. đźď¸đ¤
***
đ°ď¸ The Schedule:
* **12:30 \|** Meet at the Samuel Beckett Bridge.
* **12:45 \|** Photo Walk begins.
* **14:30 \|** Arrival at Ha'penny Bridge & optional coffee at Cinnamood.
***
đĽ What to bring:
* **đˇ Your Camera:** Whether itâs a professional DSLR, a film camera, or just your phone (strictly for photosâno scrolling!).
* **đ Comfortable Shoes:** Weâll be on our feet for about 2 hours.
* **đŚď¸ Rain Gear:** Itâs Dublin! Let's be prepared for all four seasons.
* **đ Yourself:** No "content" creation required, just your creative eye. You can also just come to socialise, we love those walks together!
***
đď¸ Tickets & Support:
This walk is **free/donation-based**. We believe offline creative time should be accessible to everyone. If youâd like to support our mission and help us organise more of these events, any contribution is warmly welcomed! đ
**â ď¸ Liability:** *Please note that everyone is responsible for their own safety and personal possessions during the walk. Letâs look out for one another!*
We can't wait to see the city through your eyes!

CBusData - Practical AI for Power BI Developers
Practical AI for Power BI Developers
A year ago, âagentic AIâ was mostly hype for Power BI teams. Today, it deserves your undivided attention. For Power BI pros, there is now a real opportunity to reduce repetitive development work, accelerate delivery, and help developers do more, but only when strong DataOps practices are in place to make AI workflows effective.
This session is a no-nonsense introduction to effective AI patterns for Power BI and Fabric development. Along the way, we will make sense of the growing pile of terminology, including skills, plugins, hooks, and MCP. You will see examples of how modern AI tooling can help with development tasks across Power BI and Fabric, along with the prerequisites, guardrails, and DataOps principles needed to use it responsibly.
Whether you're burned out on AI hype or already using Copilot CLI daily, this session will show you the foundations that are finally making AI-assisted development genuinely useful.

AoC was founded in 2012 as a networking, social group for Central Ohio area humanists, skeptics, atheists, agnostics, nonbelievers, freethinkers, and the curious. It was a member of Columbus CoR and held weekly meetings, mostly on Fridays, for several years but then operated as an online only group for some time. In November 2018, Omnipresent Atheists (OA), a group that routinely meets on Tuesdays, invited AoC to merge.
Omnipresent Atheists is a member of the Columbus Coalition of Reason (ColumbusCoR.org). Omnipresent Atheists is a member of the Columbus Coalition of Reason ( http://www.ColumbusCoR.org ). Omnipresent Atheists endorses the mission of the Secular Coalition for America ( http://secular.org ).
This group has been meeting every Tuesday evening for over a decade. Many attendees do not RSVP on meetup. Please don't let the small number here discourage you. Anyone/everyone is welcome to come. We'd love to have you join us.
CMG Gives Back: Serve Brunch at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, weâll help âcreate a better worldâ by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event:
FAITH MISSION â GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces.
PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
LOCATION: Faith Mission â Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain youâll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1
week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to all of YOU for volunteering at this (and any of our previous) CMG Gives Back events!
Should be another good/fun/meaningful time together, Dan
