Hi everyone, Weather permitting, we will be playing some casual tennis play. This event is free,and all levels are welcome yet basic knowledge of tennis is highly recommended.

You don't have to join the hike to sign up for this, but it's more rewarding if you do. Toronto has many all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurants. [Jongro ](https://jongrobloor.ca/)is the only one that also has a full Korean buffet alongside. There's jokbal (pork trotters), kkanpunggi (fried chicken strips), gimbap, japchae, mandu, tteok, and more. For meat lovers, there's LA kalbi, marbled top blade, beef tongue, and even aged pork butt. Monday-Thursday dinner is $44 before tax and tip. If there are many people on the waitlist and it's at least 5 days before the event, we may arrange another table. **Payment** * After signing up for the event, you have 24 hours to e-transfer the fee to globaltorontoeats@gmail.com * The $10 event fee is a deposit. It will be refunded when you show up. * If you're on the waitlist, you don't have to pay the deposit until a space opens up. You have 24 hours to pay the deposit after you've made it off the waitlist. * When sending the e-transfer, please add a note that mentions your meetup.com name. * If you don't pay in time, you will be removed from the attendee list. The spot will be given to the next person on the waitlist. **Cancellation and refund policy** * You can cancel and get a full refund 5 calendar days before the event. For example, if the event is on Friday 7pm, you can cancel without penalty anytime before the preceding Sunday 11:59pm. * No refunds within 5 calendar days of the event, unless someone can be found to take your place. * Full refund if the event is cancelled or rescheduled.

Long hike- Intermediate Planning something a little different for May 22 — a mix of spooky, nature, and good food. We’ll meet at 6:30 PM at 55 Twyn Rivers Dr, Scarborough, ON M1B 5R9 . Start hike from there to the bridge and back same way. There’s a local story about that bridge — people say if you go there at night and sing “Happy Birthday,” you might hear something back 👀 so we’ll start there, take it in, and then head straight into the trails. From there, we’ll continue into the Rouge and do a longer loop-style hike (around 15 km total) — forest paths, some hills, and enough distance to actually feel like we did something. Bring good shoes, water, and a flashlight since it’ll get darker as we go.

Is Yellowstone National Park really on the verge of a massive eruption? It’s one of the most common questions volcanologists get—and in this session, you’ll learn how to answer it yourself. In this talk, we’ll break down how volcanoes work, why eruptions happen, and how scientists know when one might be coming. Along the way, we’ll tackle common misconceptions and show how monitoring keeps us informed and safe. By the end, you’ll leave with the tools to answer this question like a volcanologist—and maybe correct a few myths along the way. For this meetup Silvia Castilla is returning to the Knowledge Sharing Club to share her expertise. Silvia Castilla is a PhD student in the Earth Sciences department at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on volcanology and isotope geochemistry to understand the processes that occur before volcanic eruptions. Her PhD project involves studying rocks from around the world, conducting stable isotope analyses, and applying these techniques to determine how long it takes for a volcano to erupt. \-\-\-\-\- I will post the location as we get closer to the date.
