**You are invited to our men's conversation group, the Men Being Well program** run by Relationships Australia Victoria and Life Is Foundation. This free program is for men to meet, discuss and explore wellbeing through **connection**, **reflection** and **peer support**.

Men Being Well hosts monthly Men’s Gatherings or conversation groups and several all-day Men’s Retreats throughout the year. Our events are aimed at positive mental health and wellbeing for men and include regular discussion about life issues and challenges. The relaxed format is welcoming and a safe place to reflect on your personal journey.

In the busyness of life, we carry so much quietly within us.
Unspoken thoughts. Old emotions. Stress, grief, or experiences we’ve never fully processed.
We keep going—often without giving ourselves the space to truly pause.
This evening is an invitation to slow down.
To breathe.
To reconnect with yourself.
And if you feel ready—to gently release what no longer serves you.

This is a small, guided healing circle designed to feel calm, safe, and supportive.

Toward the end of the evening, you’ll be invited (if you choose) to take part in a symbolic fire release.
You may write down something you’re ready to let go of—
a past story, emotional weight, fear, or something you’ve been quietly carrying.
As it burns, it becomes a moment of intention:
to release, to shift, and to move forward.
Many people describe this moment as grounding, emotional, and deeply liberating.
## A gentle, grounded approach
Throughout the evening, we’ll explore simple awareness practices—connecting with your body, your breath, your emotions, and your inner sense of clarity.
There’s nothing you need to “get right.”
Just come as you are and experience the space in your own way.

Filmonik #128 Short films meetup. 13th year anniversary.
Filmonik is an Open-Screen screening / Bring-Your-Own-Film night that has been running since 2013. May 27 2013 was Filmonik #1 and on May 27 2026 it will be Filmonik #128. We're celebrating by being back to Loop Roof this month only. With its leafy (and heated) rooftop, it's truly a world-unique setting to enjoy short films that we were lucky to call home for many years. This month again you should expect immediate, spontaneous, crafty, fun, inventive, weird and with urgent, current short films. Some old classics and worldwide hits will be thrown in for good measure. Arrive early to network!

Free Guided Meditation in Melb CBD - Every Wednesday
**Sahaja Yoga Meditation** offers free, guided collective meditation sessions for everyone. Each class includes a simple introduction to meditation, basic techniques for inner balance, and a short talk or discussion on a topic of the day.
These meditation classes are suitable for **complete beginners** and **regular meditators**. No prior knowledge or experience is required.
**Chairs are provided**, and there are **no physical exercises, postures, or special clothing** needed.
Classes usually run for **60 to 90 minutes**, and **no booking is required**.
Every session is free and led by volunteers who share Sahaja Yoga to help others experience peace, balance, and self-realisation.

Introduction to Guided Drawing
Guided Drawing is a sensorimotor art therapy practice developed and taught by Cornelia Elbrecht that helps us to reconnect with our emotions through movement and sensation. Our emotions live in the body and when we practice listening inward, we can feel more grounded and regulated. This approach gently supports parts of our life experiences that may be difficult to access through talking alone, especially memories and feelings beneath conscious awareness.
The session begins with a short introduction and gentle warm-up. With your eyes closed, you will use both hands to map out sensations within your body and to draw out any movements that your body might need, allowing your embodied self to guide the process. I will demonstrate the activity while also offering suggested shapes and interventions during the process.

Hiking for Health and Happiness! - Nillumbik Aqueduct Trail - Research
Starting outside Soul at Mickys Café – Research we will walk the Nillumbik Aqueduct Trail. The trail utilises the corridor of the historically significant Maroondah Aqueduct and is a family friendly trail. The aqueduct was an engineering feat, following the contours of the land from Maroondah Dam in Healesville to Melbourne’s storage dam in Preston.
The aqueduct has a relatively wide easement, picturesque setting, and a constant gradient, aside from the creek and road crossings.
The walk is suitable for most and dogs on lead are welcome.
In total we will cover approximately 9 kms in 2.5 hours.
For anyone interested afterwards we will meet for a coffee, chat and lunch at Mickeys after.

Why are we unhappy? Where does emotional pain come from? Studies show that people who suffer from long-term emotional pain have painful experiences in their lives that were never fully resolved in their mind. This is an in-person meeting.
Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance.
Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you.
The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life.
For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues.
So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them?
That is what this meeting will be all about.

Free In-Person Meeting: Healing from Trauma and Past Betrayals
This is a free, in person meeting.
Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse.
Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well.
