Welcome to *art hang*, a space to come along and be creative with other creatives in an art studio space where you only need to bring yourself.
Here, we come together in an art studio space to connect and give ourselves permission to get creative! Choose from clays, paints, pastels - experiment with materials of your choice in a safe and supportive environment.
You don’t need to be artistic.
You just need to give yourself permission to show up.

George Bass Coastal Walk Punchbowl Road San Remo
Come and join us for a hike along the glorious George Bass Coastal Walk. This trail is approximately 7.5km long - and the views are spectacular! The trail is sandy and it does feature uneven surfaces, tree roots and some fairly smart gradients. There are no toilets or water on the trail.
We will walk one way and arrange to have cars at either end: the trail finishes at Kilcunda where we will repair for lunch at the fabulous Kilcunda General Store, which has absolutely lovely sea vistas and a great menu.
(Please bring appropriate clothing, a hat, sunscreen and hiking footwear: there is no leader - this is a group walk. By joining you acknowledge that you have an appropriate fitness level for the walk and that injury, accidents or snake encouters are your own liability.) We will be leaving at 10.15 sharp: if you are going to be late or cannot make it, please let us know promptly.

Understanding Our Support Needs (And Each Other's)
Neurodivergent brains come with their own operating manuals — but most of us were never handed ours. Some of us run hot on sensory input, others stall out on transitions, some need movement to think, others need silence to function. The tricky part is that our needs are often invisible, even to ourselves, until something tips us over.
This month at Neurospicy Bayside, we're slowing down to look at two questions:
* What support do I actually need to feel okay and do my best work?
* What might the people around me need that I've never thought to ask about?
We'll talk about the kinds of accommodations that exist (formal and informal — at work, at home, in social spaces), share what's worked and what hasn't, and gently map out where each of us tends to struggle. The goal isn't to fix anyone. It's to build a richer vocabulary for our own needs and a more compassionate lens for the people in our lives who might be quietly white-knuckling things we'd never guess.
Bring yourself as you are. Stim, doodle, pace, listen, share as much or as little as feels right. Fidgets and ear defenders welcome. There's no expectation to disclose anything you don't want to.

This is an in-person meeting.
Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance.
Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you.
The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life.
For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues.
So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them?
That is what this meeting will be all about.

Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse.
