Sharing & Caring Circle
Hi everyone! đđž
My friend Forest and I are hosting a **year-end Sharing & Caring Circle** â a small, intimate in-person gathering designed for folks who want genuine connection, grounding, and reflective community before the year wraps up.
Weâre opening this up to this group because we know many of you value depth, reflection, and honest conversation. **However, space for this event is very limited**, and we are also inviting people from outside this group.
### **đ IMPORTANT NOTE â PLEASE READ BEFORE RSVPing**
RSVPing here on Meetup **does *not*** guarantee you a spot.
Your RSVP here is *only* to show that youâre **interested**.
If, after reading the full event details below, you feel this gathering truly speaks to you **and** you know youâre available on December 20, **please message me directly**.
Once you message me, Iâll send you the official registration link.
This is to ensure we can curate the right number of people and hold the intimate structure of the circle.

2025 has been an intense year â globally, collectively, and personally. Before we stumble into the new year, this circle offers a moment to pause, release whatâs heavy, regain your footing, and remember that you donât have to carry everything alone.

Itâs a supportive human space rooted in presence, storytelling, and community care.
No fixing. No advice-giving. No âshoulds.â Just real connection.
### **What to Expect**
* A gentle welcome + grounding breath
* A reflective prompt to help you settle in
* **Two rounds of open, story-style sharing**
* Optional connective conversations
* A closing ritual to leave you feeling clearer, lighter, and supported
### **Who Itâs For**
Anyone navigating:
* Midlife transitions
* Career or identity shifts
* Relationship changes
* Emotional exhaustion
* The general âWTF-nessâ of this year
* Or anyone simply craving real community before the holidays
Come as you are. Leave a little steadier.

Sharing & Caring Circle (In-Person)
2025 has been intense globally and personally. Before the new year sweeps in, weâre gathering to release whatâs no longer serving us, reconnect with others, and remember that we donât have to carry everything by ourselves. This in-person circle offers a space to pause before the year wraps up. Itâs a chance to release what no longer feels useful, settle your footing, and remember that youâre part of a community of people navigating their own turning points.
This is a storytelling-style circle focused on real presence and community care. No fixing, no advice-giving, no âshoulds.â And to be absolutely clear: **this is not therapy.** Itâs a human space to breathe, share, and feel supported.
Weâll begin with a simple breath to arrive, followed by a grounding prompt to help you ease into the space. Youâll move through two rounds of open, honest sharing, with the option to connect with others for deeper conversation. Weâll end with a short closing ritual to help you carry a sense of clarity and steadiness into the rest of December and the new year.
**What to Expect:**
* A gentle welcome and breath to settle
* A grounding prompt
* Two rounds of spacious, story-style sharing
* A closing ritual to help you leave feeling lighter
**Who Itâs For:**
Anyone moving through a midlife shift, identity questions, a career change, relationship transitions, or the general uncertainty this year has brought.
Come as you are. Leave with a clearer head and a renewed sense of connection!
**IMPORTANT NOTE: You need to confirm your attendance by responding to the message you will receive 5 days before the event.**

Regular Ticket - CAD$ 15 per person
Cash at meetup - If you have not purchased your ticket in advance then you can pay CAD$ 20 cash when you meet Tanya at the venue.
**Our venue for the evening** \- Stout Irish Pub is spacious\, has comfortable seating and not very noisy\. We have a reserved area where our members can meet each other in a supportive environment\.
**Here's how your evening is planned -**
\- We will meet at 7\.00 pm when you will be welcomed by your host Tanya\. She will manage the evening and also help you make connections\.
If you are a bit shy or anxious then please come early. Tanya will help you meet other members in a small group and help you settle down and get comfortable. All attendees are also welcome to bring a lady friend along with them for free. This will make it a lot less stressful for you as you will always have your friend alongside.
\- From 7\.30 to 8\.30 pm\, we will start 'Fast Friending' where our host will ask you to speak to a different attendee every 3 minutes\. You will be able to meet lots of ladies and gentlemen and not be limited to only those sitting or standing next you\.
\- After 8\.30 pm you will have time to interact with those you have met as well as others\.
\- We are not a close knit tight group\. Our evenings are warm and comfortable for members attending for the first time and those coming alone\. You will not feel alone\!
\- We have many groups in this city\. Members of our other groups who RSVP are included as guests of the organisers in order to give you an indication of expected people\.
\- This evening is for ladies and gents in the 21 to 35 age group\. While some will be at the younger end of this range there will also be others at the other end of the range and lots in\-between\! You will naturally gel with others of your own age range and so you will always find many attendees who fit your range\.
\- We are not a 'dating' group\. We are focused on helping ladies and gents meet other like minded ladies and gents\. You will generally find a good gender balance \(maybe not perfect\) at all our events\.
**Why do we have tickets?**
1. Cover our costs - Our host is compensated for their time and work. We also pay meetup and have dedicated staff to manage our events, hosts, venues and communication.
2. Group Safety - By securing your ticket we have a record and you contribute to a well organized evening where everyone is more committed and better behaved.
3. Management - Tickets help us better manage attendee group size, book suitable space and activity.

Freestyle + White Elephant Gift Exchange
**White Elephant Gift Exchange** (WEGE): This may be your only chance to re-gift that âundesirableâ bobble or whats-it that you got for Christmas.
Every year for Christmas my evil ex in-laws would give me the exact same gift that properly symbolized how well they knew me and how much they cared. For 24 years I received a bushel-basket sized bag of white tube socks from Gabeâs, a local discount/factory seconds store based in Morgantown, WV. If I were still married, thatâs what I would re-gift in this gift exchange. No worries. I have since recovered emotionally and all my socks match and are all the same length. Goodwill was the lucky recipient of my 24-bushel sock collection quite some time ago. Things are better now.
If you have nothing that merits being re-gifted, please try to keep the price limit to around $15. Remember, no one is required to participate in the gift exchange. You can watch and still have fun.
The way this works: Each person bringing a gift will get a pretty yellow ticket (just like the ones we use for the Queen of Hearts). When the gift exchange starts I will draw a ticket and read the number. The person with that ticket may select a gift from the table. Being first is not a true victory in this instance. The next person whose number is drawn will chose a gift AND if they don't like it, they can exchange it for (steal?) the one the previous person selected. It goes on and on as mayhem ensues. Only one exchange. Exchange for any previously selected gift. Got it? Good.
**On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\. See you there\.
**Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. I am told that the Chase parking lot is safe after hours.
**Glasses**: âŚwill be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the EMPTY glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please do not make me hunt down your empty glass. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass!
**Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing.
**Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, itâs still worth mentioning. We donât have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please donât mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions.
**After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still havenât had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee.
Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends.
Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***,
**Red 1 Realty**
*Your Hilliard Wine Club Host*
