UX Beers Antwerp May @Buffl
UX Beers Antwerp May @Buffl
**Welcome to our May UX Beers in Mechelen!** This time, we will host our event on Tuesday the 26th of May at [Buffl](https://buffl.be) in Mechelen. [Ariad](https://www.ariadgroup.com/) and [Creative Skills](https://www.creativeskills.be/) sponsor our events. Follow the event online? We stream live via [Youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBqyTDAyQBw) \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- \#\#\# UX TALKS **Talk 1: Research Reinvented** [Michiel Willekens](https://www.linkedin.com/in/michiel-willekens/), Productmanager @ BUFFL and [Seppe Stroo](https://www.linkedin.com/in/seppe-stroo-843b82128/), Founding partner @ BUFFL In this presentation, BUFFL will demonstrate how rethinking research can drive real business results through a pragmatic case study. You’ll discover how to translate business objectives into the right customer questions and how to act on those insights immediately to accelerate growth and sales. By bringing the live voice of thousands of (potential) customers into the decision-making process, organizations can ask the right questions at the right time and turn insights into measurable business impact: from increased sales and customer loyalty/experience to stronger brand awareness and more effective activation strategies. **Talk 2: Synthetic Personas – real insights or digital illusions?** [Kate Foszcz](https://www.linkedin.com/in/katarzyna-foszcz/?locale=en), AI Product designer @ Ebay Can synthetic personas help us make better business decisions, or are we just interviewing very convincing imaginary friends? In this talk, Kate will explore where synthetic personas can actually bring value, from testing assumptions to speeding up research, and where they can quietly mislead us with biased, overconfident, or poorly grounded answers. Expect a practical look at how to design these systems responsibly, when to trust them, and when to go back to real humans. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- \#\#\# SCHEDULE 18:00 - Doors open. Geopolitics, Headlines, and Markets: Panic or Stay Calm?
Geopolitics, Headlines, and Markets: Panic or Stay Calm?
🚀 UPDATE: MEETUP CAPACITY LIMITED (Moving to Luma) RSVPs are limited on Meetup, but we have opened additional spots on our new official platform, Luma. 👉 Secure your priority spot here: [https://luma.com/ieh0r3cl](https://luma.com/ieh0r3cl) ℹ️ Why are we moving to Luma? We are progressively moving the Lux Finance Circle to Luma to offer a cleaner, professional experience: 📢 Welcome to our next Lux Finance Circle meetup! Wars, elections, tariffs, sanctions, debt ceilings, AI bubbles. Every week brings a new headline that feels like the one that should finally break the market. And yet, prices keep climbing. Indices keep printing new highs. The disconnect between what the news shows you and what your portfolio is doing has rarely felt this wide. So which is it? Are markets pricing in risks the headlines are screaming about? Are investors being recklessly complacent? Or is the average investor mistaking emotional news cycles for real economic signals? This session is a structured, open discussion about how to read the room when geopolitics dominates the front page. The goal is not to predict the next crisis. It is to give you a framework so you stop reacting to every headline and start telling the difference between noise, narrative, and real risk to your portfolio. 🧭 Format of the Event This is a casual, discussion-based gathering with no long presentations. We'll sit around the table, and your host Romain will kick things off with a short introduction covering: * Why markets and headlines often move in opposite directions, and what that actually means * The historical track record of "this time is different" geopolitical moments (spoiler: not what most people expect) * How professional investors filter signal from noise when the world feels on fire * The two or three behaviours that destroy long-term returns during periods of high anxiety From there, we open the floor for discussion. Bring your questions, your concerns, and your skepticism. Recommended Preparation Before the event, think about this: in the past 12 months, how many times have you considered selling, pausing contributions, or moving to cash because of something you read in the news? And looking back, how would those decisions have played out? 👥 Who Can Join? Everyone is welcome. This discussion will be especially valuable if you are: * An investor who has felt the urge to sell or sit on cash because of recent geopolitical or political news. * Someone who suspects markets look "too calm" given everything happening in the world and wants to test that intuition. * A professional who wants a clearer mental model for separating headline noise from real portfolio risk. 🤝 Bring a Colleague Know someone who has been losing sleep over the news, or who keeps asking whether they should "just wait until things calm down" before investing? Bring them along. 📌 Practical Info * 🗓️ Date: Tuesday, May 26th, 2026 at 18:30 * 🗣️ Language: The event will be in English. * 📍 Location: Hotel Le Place d'Armes (18 Place d'Armes, Luxembourg). The bar is hidden at the back. Ask at reception for directions if you are unsure. * 🍻 Drinks: Drinks are self-paid at the venue bar. * 👥 Limited Seats: Please RSVP so we can manage space.

Guided Reflection Circle - Inspired by Systemic Counseling
Guided Reflection Circle - Inspired by Systemic Counseling
Sometimes we keep thinking about the same situation, emotion, or life question — but cannot fully see it from the outside. As part of my studies in Systemic Counseling (“Systemische Beratung”), I would like to create a small, professionally inspired reflective space for thoughtful and respectful conversations. In this reflection circle, one person at a time can share something that is currently on their mind, while the others listen carefully and later reflect on what they noticed, felt, or understood from their own perspective. The goal is not to give quick advice or “fix” problems. The goal is to discover new perspectives through attentive listening and structured reflection. ✨ No experience is needed. The format will be guided step by step in a calm and supportive atmosphere. 🌿 How it works 1️⃣ (10 min) Warm-up & casual conversation 2️⃣ (05 min) One person shares a personal situation or question while the others listen without interrupting Possible starting points: • A situation I keep thinking about • Something emotionally confusing • A transition phase in my life • A question I cannot fully answer yet • A pattern I notice in relationships/work 3️⃣ (05 min) The sharing person remains silent for a moment while the others gently reflect together. The focus is not on fixing or giving advice, but on sharing: • What touched me • What I noticed • What image or metaphor came to mind • What dynamic I sensed • What contradiction I observed • What emotion I felt while listening Participants speak with each other — not directly to the sharing person. This often creates the feeling of being thoughtfully and respectfully witnessed by a group. 4️⃣ (05 min) The sharing person responds: • What resonated • What surprised them • What felt meaningful 🌿 Communication Style • We listen without interrupting • We avoid immediately fixing or advising • Different perspectives are welcome • Everyone shares only what feels comfortable • Quiet listening is also completely okay 📌 Practical Details 📍 Le Quai Steffen – Gare de Luxembourg 📅 Sunday, May 31, 2026 ⏰ 15:00 – 17:00 👥 Small group: max. 7 participants 💶 Participation contribution: 8€ (to keep the group small and intentional) ☕ Food & drinks paid individually Looking forward to creating a warm, reflective, and professionally held space together. ✨
