The moon will be close to full. Weather forecast is good, sky should be clear, sunset at 18:22, moonrise at 14:33. We start walking at 19:00, till 22:00, about 12 km. **Getting there:** This hike is a loop. Start is easy to reach by tram 44. There is as well a parking if you come by car. For information, you can find the track here : https://www.komoot.com/tour/1478925933?share_token=agkQs0GGghs3iE5CEnvE0aV7QjcK8qRYwCkjnbV1omSj2sQ1Yo&ref=wtd **Meeting point** is Saturday 28/2 at 19:00. We start walking at 19:15. Be sure to eat before the hike or to bring some food that you can eat during the hike. Please pack at least 1.0 L of water, along with some snacks to keep our energy up, and wear good walking shoes. We will walk on unpaved and paved roads through parc, woods and countryside. We will walk at a medium pace, 5 km/h on average while walking. Please bring water and some snacks. The purpose is to enjoy full moon light as much as possible and the sky should be mostly clear. Neverthless you must foresee **a lamp** as some part may be dark due to trees/leaves/clouds and moonlight can be insufficient in the middle of the forest. For your convenience and safety, ensure your GSM battery is fully charged. It’s also a good idea to bring an extra fully charged battery pack with you, just in case. Notice : by local rules, in Sonian Forest and in the parc, dogs should be kept on a leash. **Weather** Check the weather forecast upfront and dress accordingly. The weather forecast seems ok : no rain and no (or very little 🤞) clouds Temperature will drop **from 10°C (and sunny) to 7°C (and no sun!).** Please dress accordingly, layering up to stay warm yet comfortable throughout the hike. www.meteo.be - www.buienradar.be \- Sunset at 18:22 \- Moonrise at 14:33 Consider that it is really dark one hour after sunset so around 19:20 **WhatsApp "share live location"** When participating in our hikes, you should understand how to use the WhatsApp function "share live location". WhatsApp "share live location" is very handy in case you remain behind, arrive late or just get lost. **A reminder on the event etiquette (and on good manners in general)** Register only if you are reasonably motivated to participate. What's up Friends! 👋 
Ready for some bouldering fun? Boulder-what? 🤔 It’s climbing (FR: escalade, le bloc) up to 4.5m high without ropes—and in my case, without much hope! 😂✨ It’s a super fun indoor activity, but be warned: it does require a certain level of physical fitness and/or skill. Most importantly, though, it requires awesome company—which we’ve got! 😎
 The Idea: 📍 Meeting Point: For those arriving at 17:00, we’ll meet at the cafeteria (next to the billiards table). Feel free to start earlier or later—just drop me a message or write in the group chat so we can meet up. 💪 Stay & climb as long as you want - venue closes at midnight! 🥤 Recharge: If you’ve had enough climbing for the day (we usually do this after 2 hours of climbing), we may head back to the cafeteria (or to the rooftop if it's sunny🌤️) for snacks, drinks & games. On Sunday I am proposing a hike close to Brussels. We will start in the tiny village Villers-La-Ville, which is known for its impressive ruins of a former abbey. Subsequently, we will walk through a forest and agricultural areas. This region also has wine producers, so we might also encounter some vineyards on the way. At our destination Ottignies we will probably find an open bar for a drink. As the number of participants is limited, it is important that you manage your registration responsibly: only sign up if you really intend to come and cancel as soon as you know you can’t (this also goes for people on the waiting list!). We will try to keep close to an average speed of about 5 km/h. We will walk mainly on unpaved roads. I’ve not tested this track beforehand, so it’s possible that there are some mistakes in the planning. ●●You can find the track here: https://loc.wiki/t/252023497?wa=sc ●●Meeting point: We meet at 10h40 in Villers-La-Ville (in front of the railway station). If you start from Brussels-Central, you should take train IC 2109 towards Marbehan at 9h37. In Ottignies you have eight minutes to change to train S61 4560 direction Jambes at 10h23. You should get out in Villers-La-Ville. In Brussels, you can find me in the first car of the train. ●● Train tickets: Return ticket Brussels-Villers should be fine. ●● Back to Brussels: In Ottignies there is at least one direct train per hour back to Brussels. ●● Specifics: Distance: ca 25km Elevation gain: 300m Net walking time: ca 5-6h Weather forecast: Probably dry. In the unlikely case of too bad weather, we may cancel a hike, even few hours before the event. If this must happen, we will of course update the Meetup website and send out an email to those registered. ## 🏃‍♂️ Sunday Run : The Green Lungs of Uccle (16km) **Kick off your Sunday with the Brussels Runners!** Whether you’re a long-time regular or this is your very first time joining, come find your rhythm with us. This week, we’re leaving the cobblestones behind to explore the hidden valleys and leafy heights of Uccle. ### 📍 The Route: From Pavilions to Plateaus We’ll start at the **historic white Pavilions** (Bois de la Cambre) and head south into a side of Brussels. Our journey is a "greatest hits" of Uccle’s nature reserves: * The rolling greens of **Parc de Wolvendael** * The wilder paths of **Keyenbempt & Kinsendael** * The sweeping views of the **Engeland Plateau** * The tranquil **Parc de la Sauvagère** We’ll loop back through the Bois de la Cambre to finish a beautiful **16km circuit** on a mix of pavement and soft park paths. ### 📋 The Essentials * **Distance:** \~16 km * **Pace:** Strictly **6:15 min/km**. This is a steady, social effort—perfect for building endurance without the burn. * **Meeting Point:** At the **2 white Pavilions** (Entrance to Bois de la Cambre). * **Bag Drop:** Available on-site—run light! * **Post-Run:** Join us for a post-run "rehydration" (coffee or something colder) at **Café de la Presse** to swap stories and weekend plans. ### 👟 Why join? This is a **no-drop social run**. We’re here for the community, the conversation, and the consistent miles. On Sunday, let's pick up again a plan that was sabotaged last autumn by a cancelled train - fingers crossed for more luck this time! We'll explore the southern end of the Parc natural Coeur de Condroz - an area where we don't go too often! We start in the small village of Haversin and follow a combination of GR and local hiking path through forests and fields and meadows, passing a number of castles on the way. The hike ends in Ciney, where we will find a bar for our final drink. Hello! This is a meet-up to play tennis from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday. Meeting is on the courts. The courts are booked under the name Jean-Marc. This event is for intermediate and advanced players and not organised for novice players or beginners. Please make sure to bring the exact sum of 10 € in cash. The event is non-commercial. This sum covers the cost of the courts reserved. The organizer is not there to make money out of you. Ladies are encouraged to join. If anyone wants to drop out, they should do it on Saturday morning, not on Sunday the day of the meetup, another wise it would be too late to find a replacement in time or to cancel a court in time with reimbursement. If you don't do this, you will be asked by the organizer to reimburse your participation fee. If this happens too late then those who have cancelled after Saturday morning will have to cover the extra cost for reserving the courts. In the past meetups, it happened too many times that we were an oneven number and because of that all those present had less fun to play. If you don't show up without giving a written excuse in time, the first future participation will be cancelled and you will be asked to reimburse the participation fee. If it happens too many times you will not be able to participate anymore. In case if we are an uneven number of players, then the last player (except the host of course who has to collect the money) can leave or persuade other players to play with him or her. Of course if the last player leaves, then he or she doesn't have to pay the participation fee. If this player leaves, he or she will be added on a future event by the host or organizer in the participation list if the player is far away in the waiting list. This is the advantage of leaving on a voluntary basis;-). We operate on the principle of Fair Play as we do not have umpires or referees. Any disputes or disagreements over line calls or scores should be resolved immediately on the court and, when agreement is not possible, the point or game should be replayed. To be able to replay the game, 3 players need to agree on that without manipulation of the one who disputes an entire game, anotherwise injustice could occur where in the end possibly the biggest cheater could win... This situation applies also, if the host or the organizer is involved. When one of the players still doesn't accept this compromise, then it should be reported (meetup message by preference) to the organizer or host of the meetup event. One of the consequences could be that the first upcoming event could be cancelled by the organizer for the player who doesn't comply with the compromise to play the point or the game again. If the same player does that again for a second time, then the person will see 4 of his next tennis meetups cancelled. If this happens a third time with the same player, then the player in question will be banned from all future tennis meetups with an exclusion as a final result. Whenever there is a big problem, it should be reported as well to the organizer of the group so he can, if necessary, take actions to improve the situation for all the players. Please also note that if you are the first on the waiting list, you will automatically be moved up to the attendance list if someone pulls out. So if you are on the waiting list and see that you cannot attend, please also change your status to not going.
