HikeFit: Earl Bales – Steep Hills Fitness Hike – L3 (Moderate)
Ready to sweat it out on the hills? Join us for a HIIT-style hill training hike
This hike is part of the **HikeFit Series**, a collection of fitness-focused hikes designed to build strength, endurance, and overall hiking fitness.
We’ll challenge you with steep climbs, rugged terrain, and a high-intensity workout. This isn’t a fast-paced hike, but it is **intense**. We’ll tackle multiple **very steep hills** in intervals, with plenty of chances to catch your breath, recover, or skip hills if needed.
This hike is designed for intermediate hikers, but it’s **beginner-friendly** since you can skip as many hills as you need. It’s perfect for anyone looking to **get stronger, improve endurance, and boost their hiking fitness** at their own pace.
**Weather-Dependent Notice:**
The hike is a go, **(light)** rain or shine; However, if there's a risk of excessive mud making the hills too slippery, the hike will be canceled with around 24 hours’ notice.

**Event Guidelines:**
* **Punctuality,** Please arrive on time so we can start promptly. We won't be able to wait for more than 5min past the start time
* **Pack out everything you bring** (including nut shells, fruit peels, etc.) to help keep our trails clean.
* **RSVP:** Only those marked as “Going” and have confirmed travel details (if requested) are eligible to attend the event.
* If your **plans change** and you are no longer able to attend, please update your RSVP as soon as possible.
* **No-shows** without prior communication may result in removal from future events.
* **Weather Considerations** The hike is a go (light) **rain or shine**, so please be prepared for the conditions. for example, If it’s expected to rain, waterproof gear (like a jacket or shoes)
* **Pets:** please check with the organizer for details before bringing your pet.

Join us for a 12 km urban hike that is challenging. Starting past Wilcot Parking lot 2, we will be passing through sunnybrook Park and Edwards Gardens.
For lunch we can atop at the TBG Bloom Cafe or bring a lunch, lots of water. Please ensure arms and legs are covered as there are plenty of ticks out there.

A Saturday Morning "Quicky" (For your heart rate, obviously)
On **Saturday, May 23rd**, let’s get our hearts pumping and our stomachs growling. We’re hitting the [Crothers Woods](https://www.alltrails.com/explore/custom-routes/crothers-woods-and-brickwotks-9914464) trails for a brisk city ravine loop before heading to the **Evergreen Brick Works**.
The pace will be snappy—think "I have a lunch date later" fast. We’ll be hunting down those legendary tapioca crepes and empanadas like they’re the last pieces of gear at an MEC sale.
* **The Mission:** An 8.5 km jaunt in about 2 hours. Level 2 if you please.
* **The Schedule:** Meet at **9:30 AM**. You’ll be back on your couch by 12:45 PM.

FREE Introduction to Nordic Pole Walking Clinic
These fun & informative clinics are for those who are interested in learning all about the wonderful health benefits of Nordic pole walking plus the basic steps of Nordic Pole walking.
During spring and summer we meet at the beautiful Sheppard's Bush Conservation Area under the canopy of the trees.
In case of rain we can meet under a wooden shelter.
* These clinics are also for those who love to Nordic pole walk, for those who want to brush up their skills and for those who want to introduce their friends and/or family to Nordic Walking.
* These are not walks, therefore, everyone of any age and fitness level can join us!
* You can borrow a set of poles, bring your own poles, request to purchase a set of poles or just watch and learn.
* If you would like to sit at any time, there is a bench or feel free to bring a lawn chair.
* And yes, there are bathrooms at the south entrance.

I haven't been to this body of water yet. just checking it out as a possible camp site.
From the hwy 400 turn off on Gibson lake road drive most of the way to the end. free parking at the boat launch.
Plan to set off 10 AM.

Creekside Hike
Join us this Thursday at 6:30 pm for a nice hike along the Big Walnut Trail along the Gahanna golf course, circling Creekside and back. This 2 mile hike is fully paved and a beautiful walk through the heart of Gahanna.
Three Creeks Metro Park
We'll get in around 4 miles at Three Creeks Metro Parks, primarily natural trails. 17-18 minute miles, no one left behind, and faster walkers are free to lead out.
Optional lunch after!
If you're joining for hiking all the metro parks, this is the sixth one!
Hike Blendon Woods Metro Park
Hi ladies. We will meet in front of the Nature Center and head to the two Observation decks. We will then hike Hickory Ridge, Ripple Rock, Overlook and Sugarbush trails to get approximately four miles total distance. We will walk approximately a 18 minute mile pace. Please wear appropriate hiking shoes.
Walnut Woods
We'll hike four miles at Walnut Woods, which is generally a pretty easy hike - doing the Sweetgum Trail Loop and then out and back on the Monarch Loop to get us to 4 miles. Pace around 17-18 minute miles with no one left behind, and faster walkers can lead out ahead.
Optional lunch at Brewdog or Canal Winchester.
