The city of Laurel has reopened the community centers! GCOM Laurel will be happening again Thursday night! We’ll be gaming from 6-9pm. Masks are still required and if you’re not feeling well, get better and join us next week. We’re at the Robert J DiPietro center!

Nemesis is a 1-5 player space survival game with incredible miniatures and clever, immersive rules that include cooperation, bluffing, backstabbing, and all other elements of an iconic science-fiction horror adventure. The crew Wakes up from hibernation. The damage report States there is a critical system failure and the ship cannot continue its cruise. The task to find the damage, repair it and safely return to earth. The problem: one crew member is dead. Somebody ripped open his hibernation pod and pulled his body out. To make matters worse, you can hear noises in the vast corridors of the ship. I'm not saying its aliens...

Beer & Board Games is partnering with City-State to host a Board game swap & Gatherspiel Game Night. Got some games you don’t play anymore, want to try out some new games? Come out to swap your old game for a new to you game. Please make sure your old game is in good condition, has its instructions, all the pieces, cards, and boards securely in its original packaging. Don’t have anything you want to swap? Not a problem, come out and try some other Eurogames like Wingspan, and hang out with other tabletop game enthusiasts. **Directions from Metro:** City-State is a 5 minute walk from the Rhode Island Metro station on the Red Line. **Directions from parking:** City State has parking outside the loading bay and on the roof of the building. \*NOTE\* You will have to walk back down the ramp if you park on the roof. **Food**: [La Michoacana](https://www.tacoslamichoacanadc.com/) will have a food truck at City-State.

We will be playing **Apiary** with up to 5 players per game. All experience levels welcome. Expect the game teach to start promptly within the first 10 minutes. In a far-distant future, humans no longer inhabit Earth. One species of the humble honeybee has evolved to fill the void. They grew in size and intelligence to become a highly advanced society. In Apiary, each player controls a unique factions. Through worker-placement players work to build their hive: exploring planets, gathering resources, and developing technologies along the way. Everyone is encouraged to get vaccinated, but not required. I just got mine. I don't want to get any of my friends sick! I will, however, be screening for a standard set of COVID symptoms. If you are showing any symptoms that could make people nervous, please postpone coming to the meetup till you're over it. While sneezing is not a COVID symptom, I think folks would rather not risk getting even a cold right now, so again please don't show up if this is the case, even if you're sure it is just an allergy. On the other hand, no masks are required, although feel free if it'd make you more comfortable. General day of games! Whatever folks feel like playing. Bring your own or learn a new one! If you want to play a longer game, you might want to propose it on the meetup discussion to judge interest. I'll have snacks and soda on hand. Additional snacks or soda welcome. We usually order out for dinner and then continue on till 10pm. The games we usually play tend towards those requiring more thinking than typical family or party games and they are usually in the 2-4 hour range.
