RSVP open: 5:00 PM (Saturday after previous event)
RSVP cancel deadline: Saturday, 12:30 PM (day of the event)
RSVP close: Saturday, 1:30 PM (day of the event)
* 5:15 PM - 5:30 PM - Check-in and Group placement

6:15 PM - 7:00 PM - English half [or Japanese]
Event Description
* This is an in-person language exchange! Members are placed into groups of three or four based on their language level. Each 45 minute session consists of friendly casual conversation, and/or informal study.
Event Location: Atrium Food Court
* The food court is directly connected to the Dundas subway station, although it is a bit difficult to find. Especially for those who will join our event for the first time, we recommend the following directions,
1. Leave the subway station and walk west for about three minutes along Dundas Street.
2. At the intersection of Bay Street and Dundas Street, you will find an entrance. Proceed down the escalator.
3. The food court is on the basement floor. Please talk to the organizer with the signboard showing TJEX. (If you canât find them, please send a message to the organizer.)
â ïžRSVP & Late Policy
* Failure to show, arriving after 5:45 PM (15 minutes late), and cancelling after 1:00 PM on the day of the event all constitute a "no-show". Members are removed from the group after their third no-show.
* If you are running late, please ensure you send a message to the organizer so we can keep a spot open for you. We will rearrange the groups for members who show up on time. If you show up late without letting us know, we will no longer allow you to join so please be mindful of the time.
Waiting List:
Members can join the waiting list if an event is full. In case a spot becomes available, it will be automatically assigned to a member on the waitlist on a first-come first-serve basis.
PLEASE BE ADVISED:
Members from the âWaitingâ list are moved automatically to the âGoingâ list by the system when a spot opens up. You may or may not get a notification from Meetup when this happens. So only sign up on the âWaiting listâ for an event if you are sure you can come for it. If the system automatically puts you on the âGoingâ list and you don't show up to the event, you will receive a strike.

FREE Oral Conversational Spanish, English, and French Classes 4 Adults!!
\*These classes are not a language exchange, but instead are meant to be a step in between so that students feel confident maintaining in depth and grammatically correct oral conversations outside of class\*
\***Meetup event numbers only tend to show new students registering and do not include returning students attending class.** **Per class, there is an average of 7 students.** The first 2 classes are free and then only cost between $15 and $45 depending on which type of class you want to continue with\*
These French, English (for Spanish and French speakers only), and Spanish classes are primarily meant for adults who are travellers, or who are planning to live in a French, English, or Spanish-speaking country. The classes are primarily oral-based through guided conversations. They will teach you how to handle conversations in situations such as **"Going to the Convenience Store"**, **"Making Plans"**, **"Negotiating Prices"**, and **"Going out for a Drink"**. To ensure that students get used to using the language automatically, students will learn to maintain contextual conversations with timing before moving on to the next lesson. **Program is also offered in private and online classes**. Call (647)787-9953, e-mail us info@monkeylingo.ca, or visit monkeylingo.ca for more information! **Online and private classes are also available!**
No other language classes are as oral as these ones. We guarantee it! Group classes are hosted at **600 Bay Street** every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Call (647)904-5285 upon arrival if no one is there to let you in, and someone will come down to let you in.
Cheap parking can be found using the "Spot Hero" app.

Saturday Mornings @ East Market
Let's grab some coffee/food and share a morning chat! The East Market has an ample parking lot and outdoor and indoor seating.
Grab a cup of coffee from Winston's Coffee & Waffles or on your way to East Market and meet us on the second floor - table behind or east of the elevator. If the weather cooperates we will be meeting in the patio.
Per what this group is about: "Everyone is welcome! International transplants to Columbus who want to improve language skills, Columbus residents who want to discuss international travel and culture, and anyone who enjoys getting together for good conversations."
Leave the Past Behind, Burning Bowl Ceremony at Unity of Columbus
As we prepare to enter a new year, the Burning Bowl Ceremony offers a powerful and heartfelt opportunity to let go of what no longer serves us and make space for new beginnings.
You are warmly invited to join us for this sacred and reflective ritual. The Burning Bowl Ceremony is a beloved Unity traditionâan empowering moment where we release old patterns, worries, or limiting beliefs by writing them down and symbolically releasing them into the flame. This act of letting go opens the door to clarity, peace, and transformation.
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](www.theboardwalks.com) are for curious people who love deep conversations.
If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** **and join us for a 5-mile walk** (10,000+ steps!).
**What to expect:**
We walk as a group and dive into topics that go beyond small talk.
Recent topics include:
* "What are you passionate about right now?"
* "What makes a good friend?"
* "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?"
* "How do you want to be remembered?"
* "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?"
This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.*
But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here.
**Come prepared:**
We ask that you bring a thoughtful topic with you.
At the start of the walk, everyone shares their topic with the group, and these become the launching points for conversations throughout our 5 miles together.
Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter. Be a good egg and bring a topic that'd make people go "Oooh, interesting."
**Important notes:**
* Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk!
* We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space.
* This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). We want everyone to have a great experience, and this format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs.
**FAQs:**
* We have multiple first-timers on each walk! We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space.
* Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know.
* Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are very welcome â please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic!
**Logistics:**
* **Arrive on time.** If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we kindly suggest that you skip the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and one of our goals is to create a "phone-free" space â which means everyone (including the host!) will be fully present. We can't answer messages during the event.
* **Read our [Ground Rules](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules)**. Our host gives an overview of what to expect at the beginning of the walk.
* **Share the magic**. If you enjoy the event, send **[this](www.theboardwalks.com)** to a friend. We're currently in 7 cities with more on the way (Austin, SF, NYC, Denver, Columbus, Boone, London). ð€ ð
**If you want to go deeper...**
[The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up.
* This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire.
* We're currently building our waitlist. Apply [here.](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board)
Japanese Language Meetup at Dublin Library
Come and join our lively Japanese language meetup, where Japanese language learners and native speakers come together to learn, play, and connect. Weâll practice through fun games and interactive conversation in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Whether youâre just starting out, more advanced, or a native speaker who enjoys helping others, everyone is encouraged to join and participate.
After the library we'll take a leisurely walk together to get food/drinks. There are many options around including North Market Bridge Park. It's a perfect opportunity to continue our conversations and enjoy each other's company over a meal.
