A most wonderful 8 mile circular walk by this lovely Surrey village that takes in Oxshott Heath, Esher Common and a section of the River Mole as well as delightfully named Lardy Pond ! We shall buy group train tickets for the train at 10.33am that arrives at Oxshott at 11.08am. Train ticket : Return to Oxshott Or you may decide to drive. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots/trainers. The walk shall start by 11.15am. This time it's the east end and an area overshadowed by its more illustrious neighbours Shoreditch and Whitechapel. but Bethnal Green has its own surprises...join us and see BETHNAL GREEN...... === from slumland to hipster heartland === A famous flower market, the Kray twins and the greatest cafe in London Sandwiched between the two of London's most trendy areas, Brick Lane and Shoreditch, it is easy to forget how much history there is around Bethnal Green. Naturally, most people are familiar with Bethnal Green as it features in all stories of the notorious Kray twins and our tour certainly includes the terrible duo in more than one story. But I doubt many people know that Bethnal Green was the home of the original social housing funded by the philanthropists of the day. But that's not all, there's a great museum, a great sports hall and a great cafe all worthy of being considered as hidden gems in London.
