London Society WALK & WORLD CUP - Regent’s Park 🌍🏆🌍🏆🌍🏆
Have you ever wanted to be immersed within either the city or nature in the form of a walk and socialise at the same time as well as finish off with a football match to watch? If so, this may be the right walk for you.
Welcome to another one of the WALK events where you have the opportunity to explore all the scenic routes I’ll execute whether there’s nature within, whether we get immersed within the city and feel great about yourself. Also, once the walk is finished, we can celebrate together and watch the World Cup.
With this particular walk, we will be walking through Regents Park. Regents Park is another beautiful park that offers some beautiful sceneries of nature, botanical gardens, greenery and much more. It’s also one of the 8 royal parks in London.
After this walk, we’ll finish off at the ‘Metropolitan bar’ and watch the World Cup as it’ll be England vs Ghana if you wish. The Kick off is at 9pm. Feel free to grab a drink (non alcoholic too if you wish) and spectate the gameplay.

Silver Tuesdays Nordic Walking in Brockwell Park
Over the last nine years, Silverfit has been able to offer exercise to everyone over 50 in Brockwell Park. Together with Silverfit, I have done my best to keep the exercise fun for everyone, no matter if you are fit or not so fit, strong or not so strong, sporty or not so sporty.
And, over all, I think we have done that pretty well! We have had some glorious years, and we made many, many friends over that time.
Silverfit managed to keep it going through the good times and the hard Covid years, but unfortunately, the reality of the current economic climate is hitting Silverfit hard. Many councils and charities that have supported Silverfit over the years have stopped funding, and without funding, Silverfit just simply cannot keep going.
Recently, they have had to take the hard decision to cut quite a number of their activities, and unfortunately, Nordic Walking in Brockwell park is one of the sessions that needs to be stopped.
Yesterday afternoon was our last session for Silverfit.
But…. I aim to keep your Tuesday walk going!
So many of you love our Tuesday session, and it would just be too sad to stop completely.
I would like to keep the Silver Tuesday session going under my own company, Fit and Happy Outdoors.
Sadly, I cannot do this for free, as I do need to make a living. But in order to keep this session available for everyone, I plan to keep our Tuesday afternoon session at a highly reduced rate compared to my normal rates.
New rates for our Silver Tuesday walks:
10 sessions for £45 (my normal rate is 10 sessions for £90).
For those of you who struggle financially, I am happy to reduce this rate to £30, or even offer it for free.
I can of course only do this if enough of you pay the normal rate, and I trust you will only ask for a reduction if you really need it. As I said, I do this for my living, but I don’t want money to be the reason you miss out on the benefits of Nordic Walking and spending time with our lovely group of friends.
If you are already a member of Fit and Happy Outdoors and you pay monthly, then the Tuesday session is included in your fee. No extra payment is necessary (unless you’d like to sponsor someone who cannot pay)
How does it work?
1) Please email me at Ailien at Fitandhappyoutdoors dot com, and let me know if you agree with me sending you an invoice for the full rate, or if you need a reduced rate.
2) I will then send you an invoice with my bank details on it.
3) Once I have received your payment in my bank account, I will hand you a 10-session card at the first session I see you
4) Every time you come walking on Tuesday, I will stamp your card
5) Once you have walked 10 times, I will send you a new invoice for the next 10.
Payment: I really, really, prefer bank transfers.
If you really do not do bank transfers, then you can pay me in cash. No cheques please (I really try to avoid having to go to the bank, it is just too much hassle).
If you or a friend only comes once in a very blue moon, then they can pay £5 in cash for the session (only banknotes please. Help a girl out, I do enough weightlifting already 😊)
Are you a walk leader? You are always welcome and do not have to pay me. I am grateful for your help!

1) Have your own poles? No need to sign up. But, if there is a weather warning, please check in with me as I might have to cancel and if I don’t know you are planning to come, I might not be able to tell you it’s cancelled

We are all volunteers of a Charity organisation and have many years of experience in offering free Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes.

The classes are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is quite effortless and spontaneous.
The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a state of yoga, and they are available across London most evenings and throughout the UK.

Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a world wide movement for peace and self awakening.
All the meetings and classes are free of any charge. Each week we go through simple meditation techniques, often with guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation.
We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body.

The first experience of Sahaja Yoga meditation is called Self Realisation. With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we generally sit on chairs to achieve Yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. As such no Asanas (exercises) are required, no mat or special clothing
## What is Meditation?
Meditation is a state of mental silence or rest, where our attention is aware, but not engrossed in thinking. It is known as ‘thoughtless awareness’. It is achieved when the indwelling Kundalini energy awakens and carries the individual attention beyond the level of the 6th chakra, into the seventh chakra, known as Sahasrara.
## Yoga!
It is here we achieve Yoga! As the mind finds rest and silence, we become able to feel our inner Self (Spirit). This can be tangibly felt, it actually manifests, as a cool wind, breath or breeze, often experienced on the palms of the hands or at the top (crown) of the head. It is a spontaneous, effortless natural happening.
Each week many people experience this actualisation at one of the many free meditation classes on offer
## How to get into balance?
The secret of the Sahaja Yoga method resides within us, at the base of the spinal chord, in a triangular bone called the “sacrum bone”. Since our birth in our sacrum bone dwells an inner energy called in Sanskrit Kundalini; it is characterised as a feminine energy and once activated, this energy rises along our spine until it reaches the top of the head and finally connects with the universal energy. This union is called “yoga” in Sanskrit.
## Kundalini
As our indwelling Kundalini rises through the central channel, this benevolent feminine energy activates the chakras, removing all the impurities from them and nourishing the entire inner system. It is through this happening that we are elevated into ‘thoughtless awareness’, the mental silence of true meditation

Snowdonia National Park is one of the most spectacular natural areas in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧🌿
The park is famous for its dramatic mountains, glacial lakes, waterfalls, forests, valleys, and rugged landscapes. It covers more than 800 square miles of protected natural beauty and attracts hikers and adventure lovers from all over the world 🌍
⛰️ Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) is the highest mountain in Wales at 1,085 metres high.
On clear days, the summit views are absolutely incredible and can stretch across Wales, England, Ireland, and even the sea 🌤️📸
Snowdon has become one of the most iconic hiking destinations in the UK and completing the hike is a fantastic achievement 🥾🔥

Leaves London around 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM Friday evening

This is a circular route, meaning we descend using a different scenic path from the ascent route 🌄

🍺 Alcohol purchases are entirely between you and the pub. We do not organise or purchase alcohol for participants.

Snowdonia National Park is one of the most spectacular natural areas in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧🌿
The park is famous for its dramatic mountains, glacial lakes, waterfalls, forests, valleys, and rugged landscapes. It covers more than 800 square miles of protected natural beauty and attracts hikers and adventure lovers from all over the world 🌍
⛰️ Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) is the highest mountain in Wales at 1,085 metres high.
On clear days, the summit views are absolutely incredible and can stretch across Wales, England, Ireland, and even the sea 🌤️📸
Snowdon has become one of the most iconic hiking destinations in the UK and completing the hike is a fantastic achievement 🥾🔥

We have 2 groups travelling to Wales on Friday:
🚆 TRAIN GROUP
Leaves London around 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM Friday evening
Arrives at Bangor Station around 9:30 PM
🚗 CAR GROUP
Leaves North London at approximately 8:00 AM Friday morning

🥾 Hike starts from campsite at approximately 9:30 AM
📏 Total hike distance: Approximately 9 miles
⬆️ 4.5 miles ascent
⬇️ 4.5 miles descent
⛰️ Hiking Difficulty: Moderate to Energetic

Total day duration approximately 10 hours.
This is a circular route, meaning we descend using a different scenic path from the ascent route 🌄
⚠️ Please follow the hike leader at all times for safety and organisation purposes.
🍽️ After the hike we finish at a local pub where everyone can relax and enjoy dinner together.
⚠️ Dinner is NOT included in the package price.
🍺 Alcohol purchases are entirely between you and the pub. We do not organise or purchase alcohol for participants.

Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you were quoted in *Truth in Comedy*, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**!
The idea behind improvised comedy is to create entire scenes from scratch. A suggestion is taken from the audience and laughter is built on the spot. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway, Make Some Noise,* or *Wild 'n Out*; it can also be done in a longer way, to tell a complicated story, like *TJ & Dave*.
Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and FREE!) weekly comedy event, brings the games for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Afterward, many members will hang out in *Gresso's* itself and get to know each other. Not only is this a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, your public speaking, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and build relationships that will last a lifetime, and you do that while laughing your butt off!

Inniswood Hike
Join us for a beautiful walk in the park this Tuesday at 7 pm! We will hike two miles through the beautiful landscaped gardens of Inniswood Metro Park. Our trail will be a combo of boardwalks, dirt trails and paved paths winding through the flowers and woods.
