Sahaja Yoga is a unique form of meditation that will enable you to connect with your Inner Self, establishing a higher awareness within you resulting in a deep feeling of peace, calmness, balance, and joy. It is a tangible practical **experience**: Sahaja Yoga is “Subtle, Simple and Real”. It was founded by H.H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi ( 1923-2011) and has at its core the process of Self Realisation: connecting with your real Self through the awakening of the dormant energy in our sacrum bone called Kundalini who takes us into the deep peaceful state of thoughtless awareness. In the class, we will go through the process of Self Realisation and learn how to achieve the state of meditation effortlessly. Also, we will learn about balancing our subtle system, diagnosing and solving our problems, and meditating at home. Sahaja Yoga helps all aspects of our life: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual, it is an extraordinary method, unique from any other types of meditations as it uses our own energy Kundalini who can correct our chakras, balance us, and take us to a much higher and deeper state of awareness. We do not need mats, we sit on chairs, it is easy and simple, Sahaja means spontaneous in Sanskrit, and it is for all cultures, ages, religions, and backgrounds. Would you like to restore balance to your mind and body through Meditation in Motion? In Eastern traditions, it is believed that the body is filled with an energy called “Qi” (Chi), and that the flow of this energy plays an important role in our physical and mental well-being. In this class, we use gentle movements and breathing exercises to improve the flow of Qi, helping the body and mind relax and rebalance. The practice combines elements of Qigong and meditation, and is suitable for beginners.

While we run the classic Seven Sisters hike often, this unique challenge sees us hike the route **twice — in both directions**. It is an epic day of white cliffs, rolling downs, and endless sea views. We begin in the seaside town of **Eastbourne**, heading west along the **South Downs Way** to tackle the Seven Sisters for the first time. The chalk cliffs have been shaped over thousands of years by natural erosion processes, and form one of the most dramatic coastlines in England. In fact, there are now eight Sisters, as coastal erosion has created a new one over time. Along the way we pass **Birling Gap** and the iconic **Belle Tout lighthouse**, famously moved 17 metres inland in 1999 to save it from the encroaching sea. After completing the Seven Sisters, the challenge really begins: we turn around and hike the **entire route back again**. The return journey rewards us with fresh perspectives and equally breathtaking views, as the cliffs and rolling downs look entirely different in reverse. Each hill is a new test, and by the end of the day you’ll have conquered around **16 climbs** in total. **Toughness – can I really do this?** We’re not going to deceive you — for most people this will be a tough physical challenge. We hike over about **16 hills** in total during the day, covering **26km** at a fairly brisk pace (not a stroll). Most fit and regular hikers should be able to take this on, but it is not suitable for beginners. There are safe exit points if needed, but please only sign up if this kind of challenge appeals — the Fourteen Sisters is our **toughest London-based hike**. FREE SUNDAY HIKE - Viaduct, River, Castle & Lavender: A Darent Valley Loop
FREE SUNDAY HIKE - Viaduct, River, Castle & Lavender: A Darent Valley Loop
Looking for a Sunday that feels like a soft slice of summer? Join us for a beautiful 12–15 km loop through the Darent Valley, where riverside paths, rolling green fields, and blooming lavender come together in one of Kent's most charming landscapes. This valley has been shaped by centuries of life and travel, and you feel it as soon as you step onto the trail. We'll pass beneath the towering arches of the Eynsford Viaduct, a Victorian engineering landmark that has carried trains across the valley since the 1860s. Further along, the route brushes past the historic grounds of Lullingstone Castle, a Tudor manor once visited by Henry VIII and home to the Hart Dyke family for over 500 years. From there, the path opens into the quiet lanes of Shoreham village and the purple shimmer of the lavender fields drifting across the hillsides. As we move through meadows, woodlands, and open countryside, the day settles into that easy summer rhythm where everything feels unhurried and lightly golden. It's the kind of walk where the scenery does the talking: the river winding beside us, the scent of lavender in the warm air, and the countryside unfolding in soft greens and purples — a Sunday that feels sun-warmed, peaceful, and just a little bit dreamy. We will head to a pub near the station when we finish for a pint or/and lunch. ## 📅 **Event Details** **Meeting Point:** Eynsford Station (Start / Finish) **Meeting Time:** 10:15 AM for 10:30 AM sharp start. **Distance:** approx. 12 to 15 km **Elevation:** \~300 m approx **Difficulty:** Moderate **Pace:** Steady **Estimated Finish:** Around 2 PM ## 🌿 **Route Highlights** * **Eynsford Viaduct Viewpoint** — one of Kent’s most photogenic spots, especially in summer light. * **Ancient woodland paths** around Ashen Bank, offering shade and cool forest air. * **Shoreham Village** — postcard‑perfect with its stone bridge and riverside charm. * **Darent Valley Path** — peaceful riverside walking with open fields and gentle breezes. * **Shoreham Lavender Fields** — with sweeping purple rows and great photo opportunities. * **Lullingstone Country Park** and **Castle** — meadows, woodlands, and a relaxed finish back toward Eynsford. Thames Foreshore Visit - Limekiln Dock (Full Members only)
Thames Foreshore Visit - Limekiln Dock (Full Members only)
Running through the heart of London; the River Thames has played a central role in the history of the city, and when the tide is low, the capital’s longest archaeological site is revealed. Come along on Sunday 5th July to explore its history! **About the foreshore** I will be your guide as we will be going down to the Thames foreshore at low tide and walking along the foreshore, where we will have about 1h 30mins to have a look around for objects before the tide comes in. Where we are going is an old dock that leads onto the foreshore. I will tell you more about foreshore, the industry in the area and will be on hand to identify and date objects you find. Most objects you can spot sitting on the foreshore after being washed in on the tide (its eyes only, we are not allowed to dig or scrape the foreshore surface). You will find everything from bits of pottery, clay pipes, bottles, animal bones to ship items. Most of the things we find are from the Medieval to the Victorian period or you might be lucky and find something Roman or older. We should be finished by 12noon. **The Thames Foreshore is private land, so before we go down, I have to give everyone a short talk on health & safety on the foreshore. The South Bank, The Globe & The Mayflower – 4th July Urban Wander & Pub Crawl
Walk length 5miles/8km approx. Linear. A chance to celebrate American Independence Day with a short wander along the South Bank past a number of iconic sites associated with the United States. Some of the sites we pass include the Globe Theatre a fantastic recreation of Shakespeare's original tudor Globe located close to the original playhouse and largely the inspiration of the American actor Sam Wanamaker. We can stop for a mid walk drink at the George Pub, the only remaining galleried pub/coaching inn left in London dating back to 1677, close by is the site of the Queen’s Head Tavern once owned by John Harvard, the sale of the Tavern went to fund the now very famous Harvard University at Boston. We can visit the historic Mayflower pub, named after the Pilgrim fathers that left Rotherhithe for America in 1620. The end of the walk is close to Rotherhithe station and a short work to Bermondsey station for a final drink/food. Cost: £4 cash payable on the day (payable to colin45@hotmail.co.uk, please send as friends and family to avoid charges) (guided walk & meetup costs) the host is a qualified London guide). Meeting Meet close to the steps of the Golden Jubilee Bridges opposite Strada and Foyles on the Southbank of the Thames from 2.45pm for the walk to start at 3.00pm (see photo above). See Transport for London (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/) Please keep your 'RSVP' updated for this event as it would help me get accurate numbers, and determine who is turning up for the walk; my phone number is Colin 07709 305681. Walking Safety: Walking is a great way to keep fit and generally very safe; however it does contain an element of risk. Before going on any of these walks you need to be reasonably fit and be prepared to be responsible for your own safety. You should wear appropriate clothing such as proper walking shoes, warm and wet weather clothing and carry sufficient food and water. Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you were quoted in *Truth in Comedy*, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**! The idea behind improvised comedy is to create entire scenes from scratch. A suggestion is taken from the audience and laughter is built on the spot. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway, Make Some Noise,* or *Wild 'n Out*; it can also be done in a longer way, to tell a complicated story, like *TJ & Dave*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and FREE!) weekly comedy event, brings the games for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Afterward, many members will hang out in *Gresso's* itself and get to know each other. Not only is this a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, your public speaking, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and build relationships that will last a lifetime, and you do that while laughing your butt off! Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "*Yes, And*" that you'll have a blast!
