Take a guided walk through Cassiobury Peace Garden and the Nature Reserve, led by Andrew Lalchan (a local photographer), as we explore late spring. Depending on the weather, there may be dragonflies & damselflies. This walk offers opportunities to photograph nature, and Andrew will be on hand to offer advice. There should be plenty of wildlife and bluebells in mid-spring! As it's likely to be muddy, strong footwear is needed. Bring your mobile phone or DSLR camera with a zoom/macro/wide-angle lens. We will meet at the water drinking fountain near the tennis courts in the park. There is also free car parking in the park; follow the instructions on the signs. If you are coming from Watford Metropolitan tube station, it's a short walk to the park (5 - 10 minutes). Suitable for beginners and advanced photographers alike. We have a life model in a **single pose for three hours**. Usually **the same pose is repeated the following week so that you can give six hours to your work,** remember to book the same position for both weeks. Our studio is purpose built and well equipped with easels, drawing boards, clips and so on. We sell materials at reasonable prices so if you forget anything we should be able to help you out. We have professional lighting for the models and and full spectrum lights for the studio to give you a good experience. We break for 5 minutes for the model every 25 minutes and then for twenty minutes at 11.30am to have a cup of coffee and a biscuit (small charge). Our studio has a light and friendly atmosphere. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced painter, come and paint with us! Join us for a thought-provoking exploration of one of philosophy’s most enduring questions: **Does objective or universal morality exist?** This event invites participants to delve into the heart of moral philosophy, examining whether moral truths are absolute and universally applicable, or if they are shaped by culture, context, or individual perspective. Through lively discussion and critical inquiry, we’ll challenge assumptions, confront classic and contemporary arguments, and consider the implications of moral objectivity (or its absence) for how we live and interact in an increasingly interconnected world. We have reserved the Chicester Room in ther pub for us . Please ask for Philosophy cafe at the door and they will direct you . We like to break into small groups and have a healthy discussion about life , philosophy and ideas . We break out into groups of 6 to discuss three questions over 45min to 1 hour; and then spend another 45min feeding back into the main group. The three topics are chosen on the day by vote, and largely derived from suggestions on the day. We welcome new ideas , so please come up with suggestions or topics that you want to talk about . There is no specific topic list and you do not need to read or know anything particular about philosophy . The official time is 7-9: 30 pm , but we usually go into a pub mode after 9:30 pm and continue our discusssions.

Hi all, Join us for another fun photo walk—one that’s been on my list for a while! We’ll start with a coffee and catch-up, setting the perfect tone before we dive into the action. This time, we’re exploring the picturesque canals of Paddington and Little Venice, a charming area filled with colourful houseboats, historic bridges, and serene waterways. Whether you’re into street photography, architecture, or capturing reflections on the water, there’s plenty to inspire you. Grab your camera and join us for an inspiring day of photography! **Meeting Point** Gail's Bakery Paddington Basin, London W2 1LA Endpoint: Pub, The Warwick Castle. We will be inside, starting with a coffee before our walk. **Cost** £10 plus Meetup fees. This event will be for people to meet, go off and film, come back and enjoy the results. Whatever you want to do, be it film, act, direct or even just sort of hang around at the back then this is the event for you! MEET AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE NATIONAL THEATRE. If you are wondering what this group can provide for you, it’s above all else friendship with other like minded people, whether you are a screenwriter, director, cameraperson, actor etc etc. With that in mind, on Saturday we will do the following: 1. We’ll meet at the National Theatre on Southbank. 2. We’ll split into two groups (or more if needed) 3. Each team will try and beat the other teams to a pub in EC1 in London and edit (maybe) the film. BUT 4. Each team must make a 2 minute 30 seconds film on the way with a beginning middle and end, a solid story arc for the main character, etc. Remember to bring: 1. You and your enthusiasm 2. A camera (iPhones dslrs whatever) 3. Someone willing to do an edit after we arrive back at the on their computers All teams will then meet-up at a pub in EC1 and watch what we have filmed, happy with what they have learnt! The first team that finishes gets a Small Prize! Hopefully then, you will stick around to have a great time chatting about film, meeting new people, and forgetting about work until the late hours.
