Shut Up & Write!® in Amager
Shut Up & Write!® in Amager
**Co-working for writers in Amager!** Join us for an hour of focused writing time. All writers and all experience levels are welcome and don’t worry, no one will see what you've written. This session is about getting your writing done and meeting other writers in the area. We meet in this lovely spacious café, chilled out, usually not very busy at this time, with an on-site bakery of delicious pastries. Once everyone is here and settled, I will lead a quick introduction, and then set the timer for our quiet and focused writing session. After the hour is up feel free to chat / take off / keep writing if you're on a roll. We often talk about our successes and challenges as writers, and it can be a great way to learn from eachother. **A note about the format** We don’t host critiques or readings. These events are a safe space for writers of all skill levels and genres to work on their craft, so no one will read or critique your writing. For our full event schedule, visit [https://shutupwrite.com](https://shutupwrite.com) **Practical Details:** WiFi name / password: Kasada / haveaniceday Travel / Parking info: Kasada is just a few minutes walk from Lergravsparken Metro Station. We will usually be at the (only) round table, with power outlets if you need one. Venue Guidelines: Please thank our hosts by purchasing something.
Coffee Talk
Coffee Talk
Fulfillment. Joy. – Do you know what it is? Do you feel it now? Many of us are living lives that have “just sort of happened”. We had a dream, a vision (maybe we still do) for what we wanted our lives to look like. Somewhere along the way, life took over and something else ended up happening. We made decisions, took a turn down a path, and now our life isn’t what we thought it would be. Or we’re living someone else’s life. Maybe it’s what our parent’s wanted for us. What we believe our partner or a potential partner might want. Or maybe it’s what we believe we need to do and have to be happy. I was one of these people. My life checked all the boxes for what I thought I needed in order to be happy. And still, I wasn’t. Join me for a coffee talk on what it means to live a Life By Design. Where your choices are deliberate and based on your authentic, true self. What you have to let go off to achieve this (hint: the notion that vulnerability is a weakness and feelings of fear and guilt) and who you will become in the process.
Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at our Copenhagen Shut Up & Write! sessions. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, résumé, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: - 15 minutes of hellos and getting settled; maybe some quick intros. - Then, the timer starts! : writing for 1 hour. - After the hour is up... chat / take off / keep writing, if you're on a roll. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens once the hour of writing is complete. Writing can be very solitary... connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. It's best to be on time, but BEING LATE IS ALSO OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with us after the session. (We’ll be the ones with the small Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. What Should I Bring? Whatever you need to be able to write! Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.

Hybrid Sensation - Tour Edition (ENG)
**An interactive experience on hybrid sensing in a hybrid reality** In English only 8 tickets per performance Each performance 30 minutes 50-225 kr: [Tickets here](https://h2ocph.billetten.dk/index/eventdetails/eventno/140610) *Hybrid Sensation - Tour Edition* is a semi-automated, tour-ready edition of Jakob la Cour's acclaimed mixed reality performance, which premiered at The Royal Danish Theatre in 2023. ***Hybrid Sensation* is an immersive mixed reality performance that opens new modes of sensing. It challenges and transforms the audience's sense of reality, body and identity through a participatory sensory process.** The work signals a shift where digital and physical hybridity becomes a basic condition - with its mystique, quirks and glitches. Wearing VR headsets, audiences enter a shared sensory environment - a mini cosmos with a responsive interaction system. Here, the physical meets the meta-real in an atmospheric bath of light and spatial sound, a contemporary initiation into the hybrid body. Artistic direction and concept: Jakob la Cour Scenography: Frederikke Krogh Sound: Based on original work by Julie Østengaard - adapted for touring version. VR art and interaction design: Jakob la Cour VR development: Matias Brunacci Digital performance: Voice-over and ritual guidance - synthetic voice. Virtual avatar and motion tracking - semi-automated system in game engine Dramaturgical advice: Marie Dahl and Kirsten Dehlholm (original version) Documentary and videographer: Jacob Hesselberg Producer: Nikoline Jørgensen Production: Jakob la Cour Studio Supported by The Danish Arts Foundation Hybrid Sensation - Tour Edition builds on the acclaimed Hybrid Sensation, which premiered at The Royal Danish Theatre in 2023. **Reviews:** "Hybrid Sensation - colorful, sensual VR initiation" - Anne Liisberg, Iscene "Insanely beautifully produced." - Casper Koeller, Sceneblog "Must be praised for creating a fully integrated total experience." - Morten Kildebæk, Den 4. Væg "This avant-garde work presents an impressive and provocative fusion of virtual reality and performing arts." - Stina Strange Thue, Bastard Blog "Unique and manages to engage the audience in a way that is both surprising and captivating." - Stina Strange Thue, Bastard Blog **H2O** is proud to bring Hybrid Sensation to Copenhagen with a performance in English, which presents a new and exciting way to interact with literature and poetry though a visually expressive universe.

Crafting runes, from clay.
Crafting runes, from clay.
We will be doing homemade runes with clay. It can take a bit of processing. To let them dry and paint. But I hope every one enjoys them. ^^ ## Rune Making Class **Carve Meaning. Shape Intention. Create Something That Lasts.** Runes are more than symbols. They are an ancient alphabet rooted in early Germanic and Norse traditions, historically used for writing, protection, divination, and marking objects with intention. Each rune carries layered meaning. Strength. Protection. Prosperity. Movement. Transformation. In this Rune Making Class, you will create your own handcrafted rune set while learning what each symbol represents and how it has been used across history. ### What Runes Are Used For Runes have traditionally been used for: • Divination and guidance • Protection markings on tools, weapons, and homes • Meditation and self reflection • Setting intention and personal focus • Symbolic storytelling Whether you approach them from a historical, spiritual, or symbolic perspective, runes are tools for reflection and intention. *** ## Who This Is For This class is for: • Fantasy and history enthusiasts • Writers and world builders • Spiritual practitioners • Makers who enjoy hands on craft • Anyone drawn to ancient symbolism No prior experience is required. *** Runes were once carved into clay, wood, bone, and stone to carry intention into the world. Now you will make your own with clay. Seats are limited. Reserve your place and create something timeless.
COUNT monthly event: Kitchen service at Van Buren Center's shelter
COUNT monthly event: Kitchen service at Van Buren Center's shelter
Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above. There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change. The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/). Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. The YMCA reserves the right to run background checks on volunteers. For questions, comment on this page or contact: Andrew, awhit12@yahoo.com, (614)937-5802 (cell). Please let Andrew know if you volunteer anytime other than our COUNT events so that he can count your hours toward our service record.
