While waiting to get back to full health and play tennis, the "Pianoforte in Ateneo" concert series returns this week with Pietro de Maria, a former winner of the Geza Anda competition (possibly the most demanding, if not sadistic, piano competition in the world, since it draws on a huge repertoire and the pianists only know last minute what they are expected to play). In line with the spirit of the Geza Anda competition, Pietro de Maria's recital will offer plenty of variety, as he plays works by Bach, Vacchi, the famous Sonata op. 25 n. 5 by Clementi, two Lieder by Schubert (transcribed by Liszt), mazurkas, ballade n.4 and scherzo n.2 by Chopin. See if it’s true for you at noon on Sundays. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
