📍 Location: Sorrento Beach (Approximately 1 hour & 40 minutes from Melbourne CBD on Sundays)
📏 Hike Distance: Around 15 km total
🕙 Start Time: 2:45 PM. Please arrive at the hike/parking location (shared via the private Instagram group chat). This allows time for a quick ice breaker and, if available, a toilet break at the car park before we set off. The hike will begin promptly at 3:00 PM.
🕔 End Time: 6:30 PM
🚶♂️ Pace/Effort: Friendly and social / Easy.
⌛️ Average Hike Duration: 4–5 hours, depending on the group’s pace

**Important Carpooling Note**
Drivers and passengers should adhere to the arrangements made in the Transport Group Chat. We **do not recommend swapping drivers or cars** after you’ve agreed on a ride. If you do decide to change, please make sure **all parties are clearly informed and agree** to avoid confusion.

JUGGER - First session of 2026
Jugger returns for another year of fun and games! 2026 will be a big year with the world championships in Germany taking place in September, so it's time to get training :D

Jugger is an exciting, mixed-gender soft combat sport. Two teams use a selection of padded foam spars to tag opponents as they aim to put the jugg (the game ball) into their opponent's goal.

Jugger Melbourne training sessions include both full games of jugger, as well as a variety of training drills designed to promote **teamwork, communication, exercise, health and fitness, and teach core game skills.**
After training we head across to Glenferrie Rd for lunch and socializing, which you are welcome (and encouraged!) to join.
**🏃♀️➡️ New Player Info / Who Can Join**
New players are always welcome! Our experienced coaches will teach you basics to get you and and swinging in no time 😃 Jugger is easy to pickup the basics while deep to master.
We have a minimum age policy of 16 years, but other than that we welcome anyone of all fitness levels. Jugger is a great way to keep active, and a fun way to meet new people in a friendly and inclusive community!
**👟 How to Join a Session and What to Bring**
Joining is simple - just show up! RSVPing on Meetup or Discord is a big help as it helps us plan around expected numbers. You are also welcome to bring along any interested friends and family.
**Jugger equipment is supplied.** We have a collection of gear to loan out to new players.
Bring a water bottle (there is a tap nearby), sunscreen, and wear comfortable clothes and shoes for running around in - and that you don't mind getting a bit dirty!
Recommend but not required items include: sunglasses, football boots, kneepads, and gloves if you have them. You don't need any of these to get started, but you may find you want them if you become a regular.
**✅ Are there any costs are involved?**
Our training sessions are **free to attend** as often as you like, we are essentially just a group of friends that meet for training and socializing on the weekend.
The Australian Jugger League has a voluntary annual membership that helps to support the sport (including maintaining equipment and paying for Meetup), and we encourage people to join once they become a regular attendee or begin attending tournaments. However there's no obligation so spend any money when you're first trying it out or just attending casually.

Friendly run, 5km, and motivation. 👻
Join us for a planned group run covering a total distance of 5 km. The session will begin with a structured warm-up, followed by the run, and will conclude with cool-down stretching.
During the run, we will make TWO short stops for light functional exercises and movement drills. These breaks are designed to keep the run engaging and suitable for a range of fitness levels and social.

We will keep left while running and remain mindful of pedestrians at all times. This is a shared public space, and we respect everyone using the pathway.
Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time. Looking forward to running together.

17 Service Street, Hampton.
We blend dance with pilates and strength and resistance training to help elevate your workout and boost your mood.
We have around 12 people in class most days and our customers come from all over the Bayside area, not just through Meetup.

Hike Shale Hollow Park in Lewis Center
Great small park; for me the concretions are always the highlight. Gravel trail with a couple of inclines - poles can be helpful on these. The loop is around 2 miles; plan on doing it twice (if you want less mileage you can drop off after the first loop).
