In this members' talks evening held in-person and online, we will have an introduction from our sponsor Blacklane and some very insightful talks 🥳 **💡Erica Wolf - Queer coding** There are different meanings of Queer Coding. I will focus on the meaning grounded in Critical Theory and how Python, specifically, addresses this idea. **Level:** Experience of Python is not required 👩‍💻 Erica Wolf is a transgender woman, who escaped the political Dystopia of the USA in 2023. She has been writing Python for 20+ years and got to go through a painful transition from 2.7 to 3.X (I still always format my PRINT and RETURN statements wrong). She got an MS in Geographical Information Science (Make maps with computers) in the USA Currently, she is a Mentor/Coach for FLINTA people who have found themselves as leaders in Tech Startups. **💡Lisa Johannsen - Crypto Bot** She will introduce my CryptoBot project, which combines real-time data processing, machine learning, and scalable system design. By comparing historical price data with live streaming data, the model predicts price movements and determines whether to buy or hold. **Level:** Intermediate Developer 👩‍💻 Lisa Johannsen is a Diplom Engineer from Berlin working as a Data Engineer. She enjoys building reliable and scalable data systems, while finding the right balance between automation, trust in data, and human expertise. For her, the best data solutions come from combining solid engineering with critical thinking and real-world context. **💡Maya Öykü Gümüs - Navigating Technical Interviews: Lessons From Both Sides** In this talk, I share my journey from being a tech candidate and an interviewer, offering a behind-the-scenes perspective on the hiring process in 2026. Drawing from experiences on both sides of the table, I’ll break down how technical interviews are structured today, what companies are really evaluating, and how expectations have evolved. Attendees will gain practical insights into modern tech hiring trends, common pitfalls, and how to approach interviews with greater clarity and confidence—whether as candidates or future interviewers. **Level:** Experience of Python is not required 👩‍💻 Speaker introduction \*\*[✨](https://emojipedia.org/sparkles/) Blacklane\*\* our wonderful host. *** 📆 Agenda 18h30 Doors open 19h10 Community Announcements 19h20 Welcome from our sponsor 19h30 **Erica Wolf - Queer coding** 19h40 **Lisa Johannsen - Crypto Bot** 20h20 Short break 20h30 **Öykü Gümüs - From Candidate to Interviewer: Understanding Tech Hiring in 2026** 21h00 Networking 21h30 See You Next Time! :D *** ❓ Can men attend ❓ Everyone is welcome. :) If you identify as someone well-represented in open source and in tech, please be mindful of the space and privileges you have, and use it to support others. Ultimate Frisbee in the Park - weekend edition
Ultimate Frisbee in the Park - weekend edition
Hi everyone. We'll meet and play a relaxed game of ultimate in Volkspark Rehberge if the weather cooperates. Our games focus on having great team play, where the teams work together to advance the disk down the field. It's more important to work well together as a team than have a few star players get a point with lucky shots. For this reason, players of all skill levels (especially those who have never played) are welcome to join Bring plenty of water, shoes you can run in and comfortable clothing that can get a bit dirty. Although we're an established group, newcomers are always welcome. After the game we try to spend some time together and have fun. Finding us: We meet in this big grassy area, it's a short bike ride from the subway stop Rehberge on the U6 or Amrumer Strasse on the U9. It can be a bit tricky to find the first time, so we've got a few methods to help out (don't trust the meetup map pin, it often shows some point in the park, not the exact spot where we are) 1. GPS: 52°32'54.9"N 13°19'51.0"E ; 52.548581, 13.330842 2. Although adherence to the rules, proper equipment, and common sense reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and, you willingly and freely assume all such risks.*

Fimlscreening in Babylon Berlin „Nanoplastics. Threat to Life“ EN/DE
EN: **Film Screening at Babylon Berlin** **“Nanoplastics – Threat to Life”** March 7 \| 2:00–6:30 PM This documentary explores one of the most urgent environmental and public health issues of our time: micro- and nanoplastics — invisible, yet already present in our environment and even in our bodies. Nanoplastics affect our health, ecosystems, and climate processes. The film brings together current scientific findings and highlights what makes nanoplastics particularly dangerous: their ability to accumulate electrostatic charge — a largely overlooked factor with far-reaching consequences. 🧬 What impact does this have on our health? 🌍 What does this mean for our future? A global environmental problem that urgently requires societal responses. 🎬 Language: English with German subtitles A discussion and Q&A session will follow the screening. 🎟 Free admission 📩 Please register in advance 📍 Address: Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße 30, 10178 Berlin (Mitte, opposite the Volksbühne) Link to the free tickets at Babylon Berlin: https://babylonberlin.eu/film/9776-nanoplastik-die-unsichtbare-lebensgefahr?highlight=WyJuYW5vcGxhc3RpayJd DE: Filmvorführung im Babylon Berlin „Nanoplastik – Die unsichtbare Lebensgefahr“ (Nanoplastics.

There Must Be a Lilac: EventStorming with Alberto Brandolini
He's back! The inventor of EventStorming is once again joining the Berlin Collaborative Modeling Meetup for an evening of massive learning, massive laughter, and no doubt a massive number of sticky notes. Here is the agenda: **Collaborative Reverse Roadmapping** We'll put future events on a timeline to build the future we want to happen and make it tactically sound. We'll leverage ideas from * EventStorming (surprise!) * Futurespective * Traditional planning And we'll explore a tool that will enable strategic planning and overcome deadlocks. This is a rare opportunity to spend time with a true thought leader in the DDD community and the person who contributed to the world the whole premise of our meetup. He's full of insights and stories, wit and wisdom, and we are lucky to have him drop by to share them with us. Don't miss this one! **Please do not RSVP if you do not intend to come. For this event only, we have to limit attendance.** As always, everyone is welcome. You don't need to be a software engineer to participate. In fact, it would be great to have more people who aren't software engineers. We're here to solve problems cross-functionally, not get into implementation details. As long as you care passionately about getting things right, then you belong here! This is a hands-on workshop. Be prepared to participate fully and add to the energy of the room. Looking forward to seeing you there!

This community is mainly aimed at people who have 0 to no knowledge about the language and they want to learn. The recurring problem for many of these practitioner is to find good real life examples to practice their skills. Did you know that you can solve 90% of business problems with only prints and inputs? well, maybe that was a lie but not far off from the truth. In this talk I want to guide you on how you can solve a real life case scenario of a business wanting to adjust the prices of their articles base on real time demand. Starting with a few variables an input and a print and slowly grow into a real time system consuming from different sources, to answer the hardest question there is. Was it worth it? or should we have stopped at reading from files 7 iterations ago? **Speaker:** Eric Rishmüller **Bio:** Eric works as a Lead Data Engineer at Thomann Musikhaus. He has been living in Berlin for the past five years and is originally from Argentina. Eric started sharing his passion for Python seven years ago and is quite active in Spanish-speaking Python communities. **Lightning talks** There will be slots for 2-3 Lightning Talks (3-5 Minutes for each).
