Aus Open: Ground Pass Men's Semi Final night social at AO-Topcourt
Aus Open: Ground Pass Men's Semi Final night social at AO-Topcourt
Enjoy the Australian Open atmosphere on Men's Semi Final night. If you haven't visited the Aus Open this year, this is one of Melbourne's best sporting events and is excellent value for entertainment and a great night out. The atmosphere is buzzing but yet the vibe is quite relaxed. The Ground Pass is $19 and provides access to the many outside courts as well as the Topcourt area where there are food and drink vendors and big screens to watch the action on the main courts. Buy your own tickets here for **Friday the 30th Night Ground Pass.** https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/event/2500631BDC10199D?brand=ausopen The ground pass allows entry from 5pm. I'll arrive at Topcourt at around 6:15pm. Once everyone has gathered, we'll look at the match schedules and see if we can find some outside courts to watch some tennis. If these prove to be too busy, then we can relax at one either the Courtside bar, Grandslam Oval, The Local Bar at the Village or head back to Topcourt and watch the action on the screens while enjoying something to drink and eat. From the AO website: *"TOPCOURT, the AO’s vibrant precinct at Birrarung Marr which debuted in 2025 is back with fan-favourite Game On, more live music and entertainment, POP and Pickleball courts, fresh activations and shopping."* **What to bring:** * Appropriate clothing if it's sunny/windy/rainy/etc. * Sunscreen if it's sunny **MEETING LOCATION** Meet at Topcourt. Head through the gates at Birrarung Marr, then follow the signs to Topcourt on your left. https://maps.app.goo.gl/aDMFgM6tSZVDdbeK6 **LIABILITY WAVER** The organiser of this group cannot accept any liability for any loss, damage, injury or accidents to participants or their property on this event. This is your perfect Sunday plan! 🎉 We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Melbourne Social Hike. A welcoming day out where the focus is all about fun, friendships, and fresh air. Whether you come solo or bring a mate, you’ll leave with new connections and memories! \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- 🚙 **Carpooling Makes It Happen** Wilderness Seekers Victoria runs on community spirit and carpooling is a big part of that. Every seat offered means another hiker can join the adventure. Less cars, easier logistics, more fun together. Carpooling is a great way to start the day by meet new people, share a few laughs, and arrive at the trail together. Drivers, your contribution makes a huge difference, and passengers, your gratitude keeps it all running smoothly. It’s simple, social, and one of the best parts of the Wilderness Seekers Victoria experience. 🚗🌿 \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- 👉 **Carpool Driver information** If you’ve got spare seats and don’t mind some company, offering a lift is one of the best ways to kick off the day 🚙💨. It makes the trip more fun, helps out fellow hikers who don’t have a car, and is an easy way to make a few friends before we even hit the trail. Plus, fewer cars means less parking stress and a smoother start for everyone. For passengers, it’s the easiest way to get to the trail, meet new people and enjoy the ride together instead of travelling alone. In our Wilderness Seekers Victoria community, many people are more than happy to help out those without cars it’s part of what makes these days feel so welcoming and connected. ✨ Best practice: Passengers should try to secure transportation before purchasing a ticket to avoid any last-minute stress. **Important Carpooling Note** Drivers and passengers should stick with the arrangements they make. We **do not recommend swapping drivers or cars**after you’ve agreed on a ride. If you do decide to change, please make sure **all parties are clearly informed and agree** to avoid confusion. If a driver forgets, gets mixed up, or doesn’t pick you up, Wilderness Seekers Victoria (and your driver) are **not liable** for any inconvenience caused. For this reason, it is best to keep things simple with the driver you first arranged with. In the transport chat, drivers will share their preferred pick-up locations often major CBD train stations like Parliament, Richmond, South Yarra, Southern Cross, or North Melbourne. For this hike, **the nearest station to the trail are** [Mernda ](https://maps.app.goo.gl/63B9Mu6DZeJXdkL4A "https://maps.app.goo.gl/63B9Mu6DZeJXdkL4A")or [Hurstbride ](https://maps.app.goo.gl/g6hs2T9Jotv3Jg6E6 "https://maps.app.goo.gl/g6hs2T9Jotv3Jg6E6")though drivers may choose whichever spot is most convenient for them. Passengers can then join from those locations. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **🤩 Why Join?** 🌟 Make new friends in a super easy, zero pressure way 🌟 Enjoy nature and fresh air with great company 🌟 Friendly vibes full of laughs, chats and good times guaranteed 🌟 Your next hiking buddy might just become your next uni mate, housemate or travel buddy! \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- 🎟️ **Tickets:** **All tickets are $20 per person.** This helps cover: * Public liability insurance * A $2.40 contribution per ticket directly to Parks Victoria * Experienced guides with a tour operator license who know the trails well * First aid kit and safety equipment for the group 🚗 **Carpoolers Discount** If you’re driving and offer seats to passengers, your ticket is only **$5** 🙌. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **🥾 What to Bring:** 👟 Comfy hiking shoes 💧 2–3L of water 🥪 Snacks/lunch ☀️ Sun protection (hat, sunnies, sunscreen) 🦟 Bug spray (always a good idea) 🎒 Optional: hiking poles, wet weather gear/raincoat \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- 📌 **How It Works:** After purchasing your ticket, you’ll receive a link to our private Instagram group chat. We’ll suggest a café or restaurant that’s usually on the way back toward the city so it’s easy for everyone and avoids extra driving. Joining is optional, but most people stick around because it’s such a fun way to finish the adventure. Brunch Club: Make New Friends
Brunch Club: Make New Friends
⚠️ **IMPORTANT: You must sign up and buy a ticket here to attend:** [https://groupvibe.com/](https://groupvibe.com/) **Join the Columbus City Brunch Club and make new friends!** Each meetup brings together 4–6 people for casual conversations over brunch. We use the Groupvibe platform to facilitate the meetup and ensure everyone’s a good fit. 👉 **To attend, you’ll need to complete registration via this link:** [https://groupvibe.com/](https://groupvibe.com/) We’ll share the exact location of the upcoming meetup the night before only if you have bought a ticket or membership plan. **Why this works:** \* Smaller groups make real conversations easier. \* Discover new restaurants in your city, together. \* Curated lunch venues with good food and vibe. \* If you hit it off with your group, there’s plenty of time to hang out afterwards. **Note:** RSVPs on Meetup don’t reflect total attendance. Many attendees register directly via our website. The event on [Meetup.com](http://meetup.com/) is only a placeholder. This meetup is organized by Groupvibe, a small team passionate about helping people form meaningful friendships offline.
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations. If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!). **HOW IT WORKS** **Step 1: Bring a topic** Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event. **Step 2: Circle up & share** We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds. **Step 3: Walk, talk & float** We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!" **Step 4: Feel more alive** Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times. *For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)* **HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC** A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about. Recent topics include: * "What are you passionate about right now?" * "What makes a good friend?" * "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?" * "How do you want to be remembered?" * "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?" Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter. **WHAT TO EXPECT** This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.* But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here. **FAQ** * Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk! * We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space. * We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space. * Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know. * Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic! **LOGISTICS** * If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event. * This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs. * Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details. * If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. 🤠👋 **IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...** [The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up. * This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire. Apply [here](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board).
