イングリッシュHang outやってます！ イングリッシュハングアウトとは、簡単にいうと「英語でおしゃべりする会」です！ Hangoutとは、日本語で”(友達と)遊ぶ”という意味で、おしゃべりとかゲームをしながら室内でリラックスしながら過ごす感じです。 それをカフェで英語でハングアウトしましょう！という時間です。 どなたでも、予約なしで参加していただけます。途中参加退席自由です。カフェでのオーダーをお願いします。 英語の練習をしたいけど、英会話教室に行くほどではないけど気軽にしゃべる機会を探している人や、英語で話せる友達を探している人にぴったりです。 We are hosting a casual English hangout time for locals to connect with international travelers & our international staff. Anyone can join. Even if your English level is very low, you can still listen and learn. The conversations are open, and you may join or leave at any time. Please make one order from the cafe.

Push yourself to improve Japanese or English! Come with a positive attitude, and encourage each other to focus and grow. We will split the language exchange into half, between Japanese and English. If additional languages are available, we will add time. Bring any study materials you want to use. And be sure to bring writing utensils so you can take notes as you need. Feel free to talk and participate in conversations. There is no participation fee, but please make your order at the cafe.

Laughter Yoga has no yoga poses and no jokes — just gentle inspiration to "laugh on purpose" or "laugh for no reason." Laughter brings us the benefits of exercise and even some more — stress relief and a sense of connection. If you don't "feel like laughing," that's when you can often benefit the most! It's a super-healthful (research-backed) practice which is also fun, and you can participate according to your own comfort zone! (you are welcome to get a bit zany, or not at all!) I'm a certified Laughter Yoga leader (yes that is a thing!) and I do it both professionally and as a volunteer. (I'll be leading laughter at a marathon warmup the day before!) Join me from 2 - 3 pm in Nottoway Park to try this practice and feel the benefits! The park is just 1 mile from the Vienna metro station. I'll bring large blankets so we can sit on the ground if desired (or use a picnic table). All you need is a water bottle. Please include your cell number so we can be sure to find each other. Improv Night at the Happy Treehouse with The Ripple Effect Improv Troupe Let’s be honest. Life gives us plenty of serious moments. This night is not one of them. Join us from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM for a night of spontaneous comedy with The Ripple Effect, an improv troupe that travels around the DMV bringing laughter to places where people could use a little more joy. Hospitals, community events, gatherings like this one. Anywhere people need a good laugh, we show up and start a ripple. And once the laughter starts, it spreads fast. If you’ve never seen improv live before, you’re in for a treat. Nothing is scripted. No one knows what’s going to happen next, including us. The entire show is built in real time based on your suggestions from the audience. You might shout out a job. A location. A random object. And suddenly you’re watching a scene about a dog therapist with boundary issues or a married couple arguing about who forgot to charge the emotional support Roomba. That’s the magic of improv. Quick thinking, unexpected twists, and the kind of laughter that sneaks up on you. Why people love watching improv: *You laugh harder because you never see the joke coming. *You get to participate by shouting out ideas that shape the scene. *You watch performers build something hilarious out of thin air. And the whole audience ends up laughing together because everyone is experiencing something that has never happened before and will never happen again. You’ll definitely walk out feeling lighter than when you walked in. And along the way you might meet a few new people who also enjoy laughing. Because honestly… who doesn’t want funny friends? The vibe for the evening This is a relaxed BYOB potluck gathering under the pavilion. *Bring your favorite drink. *Bring a dish to share. *Bring a lawn chair if you have one. If you forget a chair, no problem. You can grab one of the chairs here, relax on the in-ground trampoline, or find a cozy spot around the pavilion. We’ll have the fire going, s’mores ready, and plenty of room to settle in and enjoy the show. Think backyard comedy club meets campfire hangout. Great people. Great laughs. A little silliness.
