Hi All, Come and join us for social running and a coffee! We meet at the main gate of Vystaviste - tram stop Vystaviste Holesovice. We will run in Stromovka. Usually we run around 50mins and it is up to everyone how many kilometres. We welcome all levels of runner. We can all run together or, if there is more of us, we can split into groups and at the end of the run we all meet close to the starting point to go for a coffee to a nice local coffee place (where they also sell cakes and great chocolate). If the weather is great, we can also just sit in one of the outside coffee placces in Stromovka and enjoy the sun. We are a group of runners who meet most weeks for a run around the beautiful Vltava River's edge. You can bring your running shoes straight from the office/home office if you don't have time to stop at home. There will be a place to put your bags in the Cafe. We will run about 9 km along the river and have a drink afterwards. Paces vary! We will meet in the square near Kavarna Liberal (Hermanova 6), near the Vltavska metro/tram stop at 6:30 on Wednesday. This is an ancient tradition which is very popular in the Czech Republic and many other European countries. In the eve of the 1st of May people gather around large bonfires outside of villages to celebrate the arrival of spring. The roots of this custom come from pagan celebrations of spring and exorcism of evil spirits later influenced by the Inquisition. HIGHLIGHTS * Experience a popular Czech tradition with local people * Take a relaxing walk in the spring forest * Meet like-minded international people DIFFICULTY: Easy (suitable for people who are new to hiking and want to build up their stamina) LOGISTICS We will meet **at 17:00 at the Prague Main Train** Station in the ticket hall. A 40-minute train journey will take us to Senohraby in the Josef Lada County south-east of Prague. We will walk some 6 km in the forest and along the Sázava river and around 19:30 join locals at the bonfire. There will be a stand where you can buy beer and sausage and a DJ will play music to dance. You can stay as long as you want, the celebration takes places very near from a train station with regular direct trains to the Prague Main Station. *There is a train every 30 minutes until 9pm and then once hourly until 11pm. **Hike Slate Run Metro Park and visit the Living Historical Farm. We will aim for 3.5 to 4 miles of hiking and then do a quick pass through the Living Historical Farm. From there those who are interested can join for lunch at Brewdog, 96 Gender Way, Canal Winchester, just 11 minutes away.** **If you’d like to spend more time at the Farm plan on arriving early (they open at 9).** **Living Historical Farm: Time has been turned back to the 1880s at Slate Run Living Historical Farm. Experience first-hand what life was like on a 19th-century Ohio farm. As you stroll through the gardens, barns and farmhouse, you will see the farm’s costumed staff and volunteers going about their daily chores. Pigs, geese, turkeys, Percheron horses and other heirloom animals can be seen.** **The gothic revival farmhouse was built in 1856 and restored by Metro Parks for authenticity. Visitors can tour the living room, parlor and kitchen and watch the farm ladies prepare meals on a woodburning stove and tend the house. The multi-bay barn was built by Samuel Oman, the fourth owner of Slate Run Farm, and restored by Amish carpenters.** **Allow at least three hours and maybe more if you're joining for lunch.** **Pace is 17-18 minute miles with no one left behind.
