We Built an AI Platform Using AI — Here's What We Learned
We Built an AI Platform Using AI — Here's What We Learned
A small team of AWS Solutions Architects not traditional software engineers, built AIRE Traffic Control (ATC), a production agentic AI platform now serving thousands of builders. We used AI at every stage: spec-driven development, AI-generated code, automated testing, and agentic workflows. In this talk, we'll share the real story, the architecture, the failures, the breakthroughs, and what we learned about driving adoption from 32% to 92% in 10 weeks. You'll walk away with practical patterns for building multi-agent systems, using AI-DLC methodology, and empowering non-traditional dev teams to ship production-grade applications.

**Agenda:** • 5:00 PM - Doors Open (in-person attendees). • 5:30 PM - **Deep Dive into Claude Code** • 6:30 PM - Networking • 7:00 PM - Doors Close **Talk Overview:** **Deep Dive into Claude Code** Ever wondered what happens under the hood when Claude Code runs your next Android task? This talk dives into the internals of Anthropic's AI coding agent — its bootstrap pipeline and agent loop. You'll see how fork agents share prompt-cache prefixes to cut input token costs and how four-layer context compression keeps long conversations from exhausting the window. You'll leave with a mental model of how this production AI agent actually works. Whether you're building custom MCP integrations, orchestrating multi-agent tasks, or just trying to get more from the tool you use every day, you'll have a toolkit of patterns to apply to your own Android workflows. **Speaker**: Mohit Sarveiya **Speaker Bio:** Staff Android Engineer AirBnb & Google Developer Expert **How to find us:** 1680 Capital One Drive, McLean, VA 22102 We'll be located in C2 **100 D/E**. Arlington to Herndon on the W&OD with E-bike Lovers
Arlington to Herndon on the W&OD with E-bike Lovers
[https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43436538](https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43436538) 33 miles. Toilets at beginning, middle, and along the way. Lunch in Herndon at approx. 16 miles. Join us for a leisurely ride along the W&OD trail, one of northern Virginia's best bike routes. This is a regularly repeated ride because it’s easy. Parking is good, there are rest rooms, the path is not usually crowded, and it’s mostly flat and mostly paved. It is longish, but requires very little navigation. Our lunch break is near The Herndon Caboose which is located in the historic Town of Herndon, a small town that embraces its railroad past. Check out the Green Lizard Cycling & Coffee shop, or grab something at the bakery in town. We meet at 10:00 and leave at 10:15 from the south Bluemont Parking lot, The address listed above (which is the address of the house nearby) will get you to us. It’s just a minute after you cross route 50. This ride is about 33 miles but it’s mostly straight so you can turn around at any time and find your way back. If you would like to extend the ride, you can keep going past Herndon. Or ride past the return spot in Arlington to pick up one of the other bike paths that connect nearby. **NOTE : Please be careful on the road crossings since there are several small ones and a few busier ones. Gallows Road, for example, can be busy, but it does have a traffic light to help you cross.** Bring plenty of water! Bring snacks or grab something on the ride in Herndon. Someone will stay with the bikes. Pump your tires, charge your battery, and check your brakes before the ride. Consider carrying a spare tube. **THINGS TO KNOW:** The group stops a few times (certainly before tricky turns) for slower riders to catch up. We maintain polite bike path etiquette and are respectful of others using the path. As usual, non-assisted bikers are most welcome. For the E-Bike Lovers group to be successful, we need to grow our membership carefully. Please feel free to invite other E-Bike lovers spread the word, and let’s have fun! **We recommend that you download the Ride With GPS route to ensure your independence.:** [https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43436538](https://ridewithgps.com/routes/43436538) **Free Ride With GPS for E-Bike Lovers** The Ride With GPS E-bike Lovers club membership is now free as www.ebikelovers.com generates sufficient income from ads to cover the costs. **\*\*\* We've Moved! Bold Penguin - 6555 Longshore St, Dublin, OH 43017 \*\*\*** Ryan Carroll **Local AI in Rails: Fast, Cheap, and Predictable** Rails apps usually reach for external AI services when they need “intelligence,” but that approach can bring latency, cost, and unpredictability along for the ride. This talk shows a different path: running a Japanese sentiment model directly inside a Rails app, using ONNX Runtime, background jobs, and real-time updates to keep the user experience fast and responsive. Using a small app called **Sentiment Omikuji** as the case study, the talk walks through how the model was trained in Python, exported to ONNX, and loaded into Ruby for local inference. It also covers how Japanese text is tokenized, how the sentiment output drives a fortune generator, and why the app uses Solid Queue to keep model work off the request path. Along the way, the talk explores the tradeoffs of local inference versus API-based LLMs, and why classic machine learning can still be the right tool for focused problems. Attendees will leave with a practical architecture they can adapt in their own Rails applications, plus a clearer picture of when local AI makes sense, how to keep it predictable, and what it takes to make it feel good in a real app. **AGENDA:** * See updates to parking below * Doors open at 5:30, feel free to come and hang out before! * Official start of the meeting is at 6:30pm * After the meeting is done, we will go hang out at a nearby space in Bridge Park! If you can, please sign up via meetup by noon the day of the meeting so we can have an estimate headcount for food :) We always order extra, so feel free to join us even if you don't get signed up! Thank you to Bold Penguin for providing the food and location! **Parking & Arrival:** **Parking:** Parking in Bridge Park is free. The closest lots are the Mooney Garage and the Hotel/Endres Garage. **Entry:** The doors to the office are to the right of PINS. The street level door and elevators lock at 6pm. If you arrive after that, someone should be there to let you in, else call the number posted. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor. Once you exit the elevator, turn right. \*\*\* We are a bunch of professionals, students, and geeks who are excited about Ruby programming language ([http://ruby-lang.org/](http://ruby-lang.org/)) and Rails framework ([http://rubyonrails.com/](http://rubyonrails.com/)) and the joy they have brought back to web development. Our main goal is to share the love of the Ruby and Rails ecosystems with anyone that is interested. We cater to everyone, whether a non-programmer through advanced Rubyists. * We give lectures on programming topics * We freely provide decades worth of experience * For full details of this month's meeting please visit [http://columbusrb.com](http://columbusrb.com)

Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
This is an in-person meeting. Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance. Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you. The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life. For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues. So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them? That is what this meeting will be all about. Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This group is created by the Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
