**Winter Solstice Gathering** You are lovingly invited to an evening of quiet beauty and sacred remembrance as we honor the Winter Solstice—the longest night and the gentle returning of the light. We will begin indoors, gathered in a circle around the Sundance drum, allowing its steady heartbeat to awaken our spirit with Lakota prayer songs. From there, we will move outside together to walk the candlelit labyrinth, each step a soft meditation, each breath a release. As the night deepens, we will gather around our fire circle for a guided Temple Gate blessing and purification fire ceremony, offering what we are ready to lay down and calling in the light that is ready to rise within us. We will close with a collective sharing and prayer, sealing the evening in gratitude and connection. Please dress warmly and in layers, as we will spend part of our time beneath the winter sky. Join our ASL Brunch on Sundays in Greenbelt! All ASL users and learners are welcome. Brunches are alternately held at two restaurants in Greenbelt, both in the same town plaza. ODD WEEKS: 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays, we meet at Cedars of Lebanon, 103 Centerway. EVEN WEEKS: 2nd and 4th Sundays, we meet at New Deal Café,113 Centerway. We are the Greenbelt ASL Community, a group of both Deaf and hearing people who hang out, chat about everyday goings on, trade stories, get to know each other better, and of course, enjoy food together. Many members use ASL as their primary language, several are interpreters or other fluent ASL users, while others are ASL learners who wish to improve their skills while making new friends. The Board Room does not offer food, however you are permitted to bring some of your own; there are also TVs all around, in case you like watching sports; and we can basically sit anywhere we want, though sometimes certain tables are reserved for other groups. While some attendees head out around 3 PM, you're welcome to stay longer if so desired. Please try to arrive by noon, so that we may enjoy ourselves for as long as possible. To the more experienced duelists, Yu-Gi-Oh! is more fun when players match decks of similar power levels. Therefore, I advise you to bring multiple decks: ideally a top-tier deck, a low-tier deck and a non-competitive deck. I want to make sure the novices enjoy themselves too!

Hey Poetry Lovers! This group is on a roll. Here’s the gist: We meet at the **Capital One Café in Chinatown** from **12pm - 2pm** every other week. For enrichment, we start by reading and reflecting on a **“published poem”**, suggested by someone in the group. No advance preparation is necessary. This is an in-person meeting. Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance. Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you. The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life. For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues. So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them? That is what this meeting will be all about. Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life.
