Escape the hug of Hibernation: Cycling & Picnic at Echternach lake: 45km or 65km
Escape the hug of Hibernation: Cycling & Picnic at Echternach lake: 45km or 65km
Hello Easy Spinners. Temperatures will reach 8 degrees Celsius on Saturday the 7th of February and the total rain forecast for that day is 1mm. This is a good opportunity to **escape the hug of hibernation**. **What we will do together** **1.** Cycle from Luxembourg gare **(front of Police station)** to Echternach lake (about 45km). **2.** Have a picnic at Echternach lake **(warm dining area inside the Youth Hostel).** Those who wish to do a shorter ride can take the **bus** from Echternach back to Lux gare. **3.** Cycle from Echternach lake to Wasserbilling gare (about 20km). If we maintain an average speed of about 18km/hour and have a total stop time of 90 minutes (including 1 hour picnic at the lake), we can finish the ride in 5 hours. **Getting home from finishing point (Wasserbillig gare)** There are trains from Wasserbillig to Luxembourg Gare every 30 minutes. Also, there are buses going from Wasserbillig to other directions. **What to bring** 1\. Your bike in tip top condition\. 2\. Energy snacks\. 3\. Lots of fluids to stay hydrated\. 4. **Packed food** for the picnic. **ALTERNATIVELY,** you can **order food** at Echternach Youth hostel. **Disclaimer** If you decide to participate in this event, you are responsible for your own property and health. This distance (65km) requires ***high exercise tolerance/endurance/fitness.*** The organizer will **NOT BE RESPONSIBLE** for damages to the property or the health (including cycling injuries) of the participants. The organizer will be responsible for navigating the cycle route from the start point to the finish point. **Weather conditions.** Updated on 01/02/2026 (https://www.bbc.com/weather/2960316) 8 degree Celsius. Mostly misty and cloudy, and **61**% chance of rain. Total rain forecast is 1mm. **If the forecast becomes worse**, the organizer **may** cancel the event 6 hours before the start time or earlier. The **terrain is 99% tarmac** (paved), 51km of which is cycle path. **Komoot route:** https://www.komoot.com/tour/2094897906?share_token=a7wDXlz37wTatQbgMRCWfqVxwH59Mhi2SiRpJI1PNPHvhPdaaO&ref=wtd Want to **join our WhatsApp group?** Use this link: [https://chat.whatsapp.com/LmB9eTUkPb918blGeGaqZy?mode=ac_t](https://chat.whatsapp.com/LmB9eTUkPb918blGeGaqZy?mode=ac_t)

It's published in 2025, and it's 286 pages long. ✅ Check out the book [here](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/216336470-superagency). You can also audio-read it on Audible or Spotify Premium (~8 hours). 🎉 We're meeting on the 1st of February (Sunday) at 14:00 at Park Plaza Hotel, ground floor, in the *library area*, on the right, after passing the reception. 🧩 This session will be prepared and run by Sean Cox who proposed the book. 💡You can join us even if you haven't finished the book. In this book club, we learn by hands-on activities and games! Happy reading everyone! 🙏🏼 [Please note that the area of the library/café cannot be reserved, so just in case I'll book a back-up table in the area of the restaurant, also on the ground floor, under the name Marilena.]

🍂🍁Bambesch Exploration 2 (10km) 🍂🍁
🍂🍁Bambesch Exploration 2 (10km) 🍂🍁
Hello Friends! There are still lots of paths to explore in Bambesch, and why not do it twice in a row? Same starting point as last week, same lunch break location, but 90% different paths! We're going to start by crossing the road. It might even be a little foggy around that time, and until your lunch break, it will clear up, and we can expect some sunshine. **Meeting Point:** We will meet at the hotel "Sieweburen" and start the hike around 10:50. https://maps.app.goo.gl/6RMGoU7Xg4B1S1tY9 **Public Transport:** There are multiple buses, 21, 33, the destination is right in the middle between the bus stops "Rollingergrund, Roudebierg" and "Rollingergrund, Villeroy & Boch", depending on which direction you come from, one of them is the best. And if you miss both, you will do some jogging as a warm-up :) **Disclaimer:** The hike is at your own risk, and please make sure you wear proper shoes and bring some water for yourself! Looking forward to hiking with you! Jens.

Board games at The Forge
Board games at The Forge
The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area. Parking can be challenging. There is a parking lot behind the neighboring Mexican restaurant that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.

Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations.
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that. We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus.
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn.
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders…
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords…
IMPORTANT:
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for.
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.

Intro to Shaders in Unity
Intro to Shaders in Unity
This meetup is a beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop focused on building shaders in Unity using Shader Graph. Instead of slides or theory-heavy lectures, we'll build real shaders together step-by-step. The format is structured but interactive. You'll watch a quick demo, then build each shader yourself with guidance. By the end, you'll have created multiple shaders you can immediately use in your own projects—and understand how to make more. **What to Expect:** * Build 4–5 complete shaders from scratch * Color tints, snow accumulation, scrolling water, dissolve effects, and more * No prior shader experience required * Checkpoint files provided if you fall behind * Resources for continued learning All experience levels are welcome. Whether you've never opened Shader Graph or just want to fill gaps in your knowledge, this is a supportive space to learn by doing. **Food and drinks provided. Join us to learn, build, and level up your shader skills.**
