**This week's venue: Beer People \| Lázár utca 7\, Budapest 1065** We hold a bi-weekly workshop to encourage creative writing where we share pieces of creative writing and solicit feedback from the other attendees. Some members also use the forum to find others with whom to collaborate, edit work, and/or brainstorm plot, themes, settings, and so forth. And from time to time, we participate in competitions, recite and/or offer material for events organized by other groups. At the moment there is no prompt for this particular meetup. Instead, writers are invited to submit something they have (or are working on) or to craft a short story specifically for the event. Of course, there's no pressure to submit something. Many participants are interested in hearing ideas, questioning the authors, and examining style and technique. Often, we explore other published works as well. The submission guidelines are as follows: 1. limit the piece to 850 words (to give enough time for any other submissions being read at the event); 2. make the text available (though you can read it aloud) for the other attendees. Many authors bring a few printed copies, others post their work in the comments of the meetup; 3. have a question in mind for the group about the submission; and, 4. If offering something from a longer work, be prepared to give a little bit of background first.

Elsőre ez logikusnak tűnik: akik többet tesznek hozzá erőfeszítésükkel vagy képességeikkel, jobb életet érdemelnek. Mégis sok kritika éri a meritokráciát. Egyesek szerint egyszerűen nem működik a gyakorlatban. Beyond Simple Solutions: Cynefin, Antifragility, and the Art of Learning in Uncertain Environments With [Gábor Erényi.](https://www.linkedin.com/in/gaborerenyi/) In a complex world problems don’t behave the way we expect them to—and trying to manage them with simple or complicated methods often makes things worse. During this meetup, we’ll explore the Cynefin framework and how it helps you to understand different types of situations and respond accordingly. We’ll look at what truly complex environments require, how learning and adaptation emerge from uncertainty, and how ideas from antifragility can help us not just survive volatility but ride on its waves. Expect a mindset shift that you can apply the next day.

This month's meetup is about the **[Titans](https://arxiv.org/abs/2501.00663) neural network architecture** published by Google Research: The goal of the architecture is to: * scale transformer-based sequence models for tasks requiring very long context * enable test-time memorization This allows models to maintain long-term memory effectively while running—without the need for dedicated offline retraining. We'll discuss the Titans architecture, with a focus on its implementation of the long-term memory module: * how neural networks can act as memory vs. classical fixed-size recurrent states * how this type of long-term memory compares to traditional RNNs, and why it enables models to learn new context on the fly We will also take a look at the **[MIRAS framework](https://arxiv.org/abs/2504.13173)**, which provides a higher-level abstraction for designing sequence models. The key idea of MIRAS is that sequence model architectures—from transformers to linear RNNs—can be viewed as complex associative memories under the hood. We'll see how Titans fits into this framework of neural network design, and why the authors state that Titans and MIRAS can: **"combine the speed of RNNs with the accuracy of transformers."** *** **Follow-up from the last event** HOPE, the reference architecture for Nested Learning, is built on a modified version of the Titans architecture. A program a **Budapest Accessibility Meetup**, a **UX Budapest** és az **Appy** közös szervezésű eseménye. **Hány kattintás kell ahhoz, hogy egy teljesen működő felület használhatatlanná váljon?** Néha egy is elég, ha közben elfogy a mentális kapacitásod. Sok digitális termék úgy készül, mintha minden felhasználó figyelme egyformán működne, korlátlan lenne, és a döntések nem igényelnének valódi mentális erőfeszítést. A következő meetupunkon a **kognitív akadálymentesség** és a **neurodiverzitás** kerül fókuszba, és az, hogy ezek hogyan írják át a tervezési alapfeltevéseinket. A kognitív akadálymentesség hiánya sokak számára ugyanúgy blokkoló lehet, mint más, jobban ismert akadálymentességi hiányosságok. Ez nem csak azokra igaz, akik születésüktől fogva érintettek. **Vannak tartós állapotok mint például a neurodivergencia, de vannak szituációs és életkori tényezők is, ami miatt gyakorlatilag mindenki érintetté válik. It covers the very basic elements of astrology, including how astrology can be used and the ethics involved in working with clients. Written materials are provided, along with instruction on drawing the glyphs of the planets and signs. The Whole Signs House system will be used as the basis for this course. This system makes it easier for students to comprehend the meanings of elements, modalities, sect, and aspects. Each class is 90 minutes in length.
