Plan before you build: Deterministic planning patterns for AI agents
Plan before you build: Deterministic planning patterns for AI agents
Can your agents scale without bankrupting your API quota or your compute budget? Join this session to explore a production-ready architecture that uses the LLM Council pattern, Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK) for Java and Spring AI, all deployed on Cloud Run. And discover how replacing probabilistic reason-and-act (ReAct) loops with LLM Council enable goal-oriented action planning (GOAP) creates agents that are not only smarter but also significantly lighter and faster – making them the perfect workload for serverless execution. **About the venue** Free Times Cafe has bistro-style seating and a full food and drink menu. The Safety Portfolio: Where Should AI Safety Effort Go?
**This is a ticketed event. Please register at [this lin](https://luma.com/trajec-bgfb)[k](https://luma.com/9cs5o16b).** If AI is one of the most consequential technologies humans have built, then how we try to make it go well matters a lot. But "AI safety" includes a variety of approaches across technical research, governance, evals, international coordination, slowing things down, building better culture inside labs — and they're not interchangeable. Some of these matter much more than others, and reasonable experts disagree about which. You'll get 100 points to allocate across seven safety interventions, weighted by how much expected reduction in catastrophic AI risk you think each one produces per dollar. Then we'll compare, argue, and try to get to the cruxes of where people's ideas about how we can be prepared for the future are.

🏡🌿 THE BRIDLE PATH (DRAKE’S MANSION) & EDWARDS GARDENS WALK 🌿🏡
🏡🌿 **THE BRIDLE PATH (DRAKE’S MANSION) & EDWARDS GARDENS WALK** 🌿🏡 Luxury Streets, Hidden Trails & A Garden Escape Some parts of Toronto feel like a completely different world — and this walk takes you right through them. Join us for a social walk through The Bridle Path, one of the most exclusive and wealthiest neighbourhoods in the city — known for its massive estates, gated homes, and quiet, tree-lined streets. This is where celebrities and icons have lived, including Drake and the late Gordon Lightfoot. It’s the kind of area where the houses don’t just impress — they *shock*. From there, we’ll shift into nature and make our way toward Edwards Gardens, where things slow down with flowers, pathways, and a peaceful break in the middle of the walk. This is not a formal tour. It’s a social walk — a mix of city curiosity, nature, and good conversation. 📲 **Join Our WhatsApp Group:**[ Click here to join](https://chat.whatsapp.com/DRFTkxRlHS4B3IL1lMleUd) \*\*\* **🚶‍♂️ What We’ll Do** We’ll begin in the Bridle Path area, walking through the neighbourhood to take in some of the largest and most impressive homes in Toronto. From there, we’ll head toward Edwards Gardens, where we’ll take about a 30-minute break to relax, explore, and enjoy the flowers. After the break, we’ll continue along parts of the Don River trail, finishing near Eglinton & Don Mills. For those who want, we can grab something casual afterward at Tim Hortons or McDonald's. ☕🍔 You’re welcome to join or head out whenever you like. \*\*\* **🌦️ Weather & Expectations** This walk happens rain or shine. Please come prepared for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. The route is moderate and includes a mix of neighbourhood streets and park trails. Also — this is NOT a guided or historical tour. I’ll share bits of context casually, but the focus is on being social and enjoying the walk. \*\*\* 🧢 Meetup Details 📍 Meetup Location: Par king lot near Bayview Ave (exact spot easy to find on arrival) 🫎 I’ll be wearing my Moose Hat ⏰ Meetup Time: 11:00 AM I will only wait 5 minutes. Kick-off Riverdale Park 5K Run / Walk / Jog
Kick-off Riverdale Park 5K Run / Walk / Jog
I think we're ready to start this group's running season! 5K every week till the snows come down! Or try to! This seems like a good Sunday to start as the temperature and sunlight should all be moderate. Also, plenty of time to prepare with stretch and strength if you haven't run since last year! BTW, I've learned there is a lot of benefit to starting with slow jogging - rather than walking. Please look that up, if you are slow - like me - and want to improve your endurance, consistency, aerobic and anaerobic capacity. We'll meet by the track. I'll be there early to warm up. We will start the 5K exactly at 9:30am. As mentioned in the About Us, * Using the park track we can all go at our own pace and never really be left behind unless we all finish way ahead of you. :D I think an hour is enough time to dedicate to the run. I'm pretty slow, so you will likely have me around for most of the hour. * Members are free to leave the run whenever they want. * Bring your kids, your pets, your partners, etc. * All encouraged to stick around afterwards and enjoy the park or neighbourhood on your own. * Let's get stronger, healthier and foster a great community at the same time. * As part of our kick-off, I am open to heading off to get some brunch on the Danforth afterwards, if anybody is interested! Lots of great options there! We also welcome runners who are not in our neighbourhood and want to join us spiritually and run from their own neighbourhoods. :-) Imagine how much healthier and communal the world would be if we all stopped for an hour once in a while to run together; re-centring and re-charging together?
Urban Hike (Beltline Trail)
Urban Hike (Beltline Trail)

If you are planning to join: 1- You need to be fully vaccinated. 2- Please do not attend if you have any symptoms such as fever, cough, tiredness, aches and pains, sore throat, diarrhoea, conjunctivitis, headache, etc. 3- It is an easy hike; however, make sure that you have a proper hiking footware. 4- Disclaimer: You agree when you join this event with Borna that you have read and understand the below. "Metal Slinger" by Rachel Schneider
"Metal Slinger" by Rachel Schneider
Join us as we discuss our June pick: Metal Slinger by Rachel Schneider! Book description: Even though she's not one of them, Brynn has spent her life among the Alaha, training to be a guard and waiting for the chance to attend the annual market hosted by the Kenta–the very same people who exiled her adopted community to a life at sea. Going to the market is a rite of passage eagerly anticipated by all young guards, but Brynn does not anticipate breaking a century-long peace treaty while there. Nor does she plan for the intense encounter with an enemy soldier that now threatens to unwind the fragile coexistence between their people–and everything Brynn once believed about herself to be true. Brynn's loyalty to the Alaha is tested when the truth of her identity is brought to light by this soldier who's taken an oath to bring her back to where she belongs. Narrowly escaping death on the violent high seas, Brynn's connection to the Alaha is further tested when she learns about the world of magic she's been denied. She was once certain of her fate and where she belonged, but the dark, knowing eyes of this stranger have her questioning everything, including her heart. Packed with knife fights and seafaring adventure, METAL SLINGER is the smash-hit start to the romantic fantasy duology, the Fire & Metal series

Join us as we get together to see Paul Rudd in the latest comedy-drama-musical from John Carney, POWER BALLAD! The film follows a washed-up wedding singer, a fading boy band singer and a stolen hit song. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event: DESCRIPTION: Rick, a washed-up wedding singer, and Danny, a fading boy band star, bond over music and a late-night jam session. When Danny turns Rick's song into a hit, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves. It stars Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Havana Rose Liu and Jack Reynor. BUZZ & ACCLAIM: The film premiered to rave reviews at this year’s Dublin International Film Festival where critics call it “a sure-fired crowd-pleaser” that “just might be the feel-good hit of the year!” Others say, “Paul Rudd delivers a career-best performance in this charmer” that’s both “hilarious and deeply moving!” SUMMER OF ICE CREAM, VOL 2: SHAKE NO. 8!
