Business Owners Walk & Coffee @ Battersea Park Saturday 10 am
Business Owners Walk & Coffee @ Battersea Park Saturday 10 am
Own Account London Circle A peer circle for independent business owners who don’t fit traditional networking, business memberships or socialising. Building a business in London is lonely. Not in a way you’d admit out loud - but in a way you feel on a Saturday afternoon when there’s no one to call, or when you have a small win and nobody around you really gets it. I wanted to start something I couldn’t find. I’m looking for a small group of confident, independent business owners in London to occasionally meet for a walk, a coffee/tea, no forced agenda, no speaker, no pitch. Just honest conversations about business, life, growth and wellbeing with people who understand the life you’ve chosen and face the same challenges. Real accountability doesn’t come from a paid programme or assigned accountability partner. It comes from people you genuinely know, care about and want to impress. You’ll fit if you are: \- Approx 35–55\, based in London \- Running a business\, agency or independent practice \- Not a startup\, not eligible for £3m\+ founder clubs \- Socially selective \- looking for peers\, not contacts \- Want connection\, not exposure This is not: \- A networking or pitching opportunity \- A startup mastermind or business course \- A front for an organisation\, membership or upsell \- A support group or therapy session \- A dating event or after\-work drinks \- An online community You might relate to some of these: \- The people around you \(friends\, family\, partner\) don’t really get it\. \- You work alone most of the time\, or your relationships are purely professional\. \- You moved to London and don't know many people\. \- You don't want to be pressured to share \- but if you do\, you’ll be heard and supported\. \- You want a small\, easy circle where conversation actually goes somewhere\. \- Who you’re becoming is as important as what you’re building\. \- You’d like a few hours outdoors\, clear your head and enjoy like\-minded company\. First meet: \- Battersea Park \- Saturday morning \- Walk and a coffee/tea \- Simple introduction \- Max 6 people If you read this and thought “finally” - let’s meet :)
Day trip by coach - a church, a battlefield & two towns in Northants! (only £33)
Day trip by coach - a church, a battlefield & two towns in Northants! (only £33)
Come along on Saturday 4th July to visit a 9th century church, a 17th century battlefield and two pretty towns in the county of Northamptonshire! **About the day** Northamptonshire is a landlocked county in the east Midlands. Its quite rural, with lots of farmland and market towns. It also has lots of pretty little villages with stone cottages and thatched roofs. The county has enough local stone buildings to rival the Cotswolds. **All Saints' Church, Brixworth** Brixworth is a historic village, primarily famous for housing All Saints' Church, one of the oldest and largest surviving Anglo-Saxon buildings in the UK. The church dates from the 9th century and is built of local stone and Roman stone, taken from nearby abandoned Roman buildings. **Naseby Battlefield** On the 14th June 1645, one of the pivotal battles of the English Civil War took place here. The Battle of Naseby was where a relatively unknown cavalry commander in the Parliamentary Army, a man named Oliver Cromwell, changed the course of history and routed the Royalist armies under Prince Rupert. **Oundle** Oundle is a quintessential English market town that sits at a bridging point on the River Nene and amidst the rolling countryside. The town has a medieval street layout lined with 17th-century Jacobean and Georgian stone buildings. Today it has many cafes, pubs and independent shops. **Uppingham** Uppingham is a market town with lots of honey coloured buildings and with its art galleries it has become a popular destination for art lovers. It also has lots of independent shops, including lots of antique shops. A little over 1 mile from the town are the earthwork remains of a medieval motte and bailey castle. **Coach seating** * If you wish to reserve a seat on the coach in advance, after you pay please look at the seating plan in the photos [here](https://www.meetup.com/coach-day-trips-out-of-london/photos/36017628/534585627/) and then email me - [general@cultureseekers.org](http://general@cultureseekers.org), with the seat number/s you wish to reserve. FREE SUNDAY HIKE - Viaduct, River, Castle & Lavender: A Darent Valley Loop
FREE SUNDAY HIKE - Viaduct, River, Castle & Lavender: A Darent Valley Loop
Looking for a Sunday that feels like a soft slice of summer? Join us for a beautiful 12–15 km loop through the Darent Valley, where riverside paths, rolling green fields, and blooming lavender come together in one of Kent's most charming landscapes. This valley has been shaped by centuries of life and travel, and you feel it as soon as you step onto the trail. We'll pass beneath the towering arches of the Eynsford Viaduct, a Victorian engineering landmark that has carried trains across the valley since the 1860s. Further along, the route brushes past the historic grounds of Lullingstone Castle, a Tudor manor once visited by Henry VIII and home to the Hart Dyke family for over 500 years. From there, the path opens into the quiet lanes of Shoreham village and the purple shimmer of the lavender fields drifting across the hillsides. As we move through meadows, woodlands, and open countryside, the day settles into that easy summer rhythm where everything feels unhurried and lightly golden. It's the kind of walk where the scenery does the talking: the river winding beside us, the scent of lavender in the warm air, and the countryside unfolding in soft greens and purples — a Sunday that feels sun-warmed, peaceful, and just a little bit dreamy. We will head to a pub near the station when we finish for a pint or/and lunch. ## 📅 **Event Details** **Meeting Point:** Eynsford Station (Start / Finish) **Meeting Time:** 10:15 AM for 10:30 AM sharp start. **Distance:** approx. 12 to 15 km **Elevation:** \~300 m approx **Difficulty:** Moderate **Pace:** Steady **Estimated Finish:** Around 2 PM ## 🌿 **Route Highlights** * **Eynsford Viaduct Viewpoint** — one of Kent’s most photogenic spots, especially in summer light. * **Ancient woodland paths** around Ashen Bank, offering shade and cool forest air. * **Shoreham Village** — postcard‑perfect with its stone bridge and riverside charm. * **Darent Valley Path** — peaceful riverside walking with open fields and gentle breezes. * **Shoreham Lavender Fields** — with sweeping purple rows and great photo opportunities. * **Lullingstone Country Park** and **Castle** — meadows, woodlands, and a relaxed finish back toward Eynsford. Free Human Towers Rehearsal + Social (Sunday)
Sunday rehearsal with Castellers of London. Meet us at the OBC Community Centre to help build human towers! This get together is a great opportunity for you to meet new friends, socialise and have a go and explore your abilities as a human tower builder a.k.a Casteller! For newcomers we have a team of trained Castellers who will introduce you to the group, guide you through the activity and help you safely take part in this unique Catalan tradition. When you arrive just approach us as we are really friendly! If in doubt ask for Cuss! Please let us know if you are bringing guests. After the rehearsal we go to a nearby pub for social drinks where everyone is welcome :) What do you need? 1. Ideally a cotton shirt: to protect your neck and shoulders, the more durable the shirt/top the better. We do not recommend any thin items of clothing! 2. Jeans: allowing you to move freely without breaking. 3. Mask: We still require the use of a mask as you will be very close to your fellow Castellers - basically you will be hugging people! The rest of the equipment is on us! We take health and safety very seriously, both in relation to COVID-19 and also the activity- please be assured that the safety of all participants is of the utmost importance to us and we take all necessary precautions to minimize the risk, ensuring we all have a great time! Our regular members won't be filling in the Meet Up to say they are going 🙂 So don't be put off if you see only a handful have said they are going. A minimum of 25 on the day is normal. What the Meet Up may show is how many new people like yourself are going.

The DJ will be playing music on deck where we can dance til 11 pm and after that we can continue with more dancing in the clubroom downstairs til 2 am . I have a table reserved on deck (usually this is the first table on your right as you walk down the ramp onto the boat , but if you can't find me please ask a member of staff .) . This will be our base whilst we are chatting , having a drink , dancing on deck , til 11pm , then we move down to the clubroom , where I have reserved another table for us . **\*\* Event Fee : £7 for 1 person £10 for 2** **Buy your ticket online from : https://fatso.ma/fkx8l** You are also free to use the bar/ward room below deck . This is a nice cosy refuge if it's chilly on deck and the windows provide an amazing view of all the coloured lights which illuminate the famous icons on the opposite side of the river (London Eye , City Hall , Southbank Centre , etc). PLEASE NOTE that this event begins at 8 pm - **arrive before** **9 pm to avoid paying an entrance fee directly to the venue** , as well as to me . THE BOAT MAY START CHARGING AFTER 9 PM . We'll meet at The Capital One Café, 167 Easton Town Center, Space A-103. This is in the main mall where the Microsoft store used to be, on your left if you're standing at the bottom of the AMC Theater escalator. Join us on Saturday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking! • What we'll do Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros. 10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour. 11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you! • What to bring Whatever you need to be able to write! Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block noise or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Electrical outlets are limited, so charge your devices before whenever possible. See you at The Café on Saturday!
