Volleyball Training and Games - Intermediate - B Level (SNHC)
Welcome to Melbourne Volleyball Academy! 🤗
**[[WHAT]]**
This session will be broken into 2 halves, 1st half is training and the 2nd half is games. Please arrive on time as we will start exactly at 5:30 PM.
Our intention is to have this training be the 'next step' after our beginner-level training at North Melbourne Community Centre.
We will be focusing on learning what specific roles on the court entail, improving 'volleyball IQ', breaking bad habits, and building better techniques.
**[[WHERE]]**
The session will be held as State Netball Hockey centre.
Please enter via the main entrance (the entrance with the larger parking lot), we will be on Court 3 & 4, please ask the person at the front desk if you need directions.
**[[WHO]]**
The training is intended for social volleyball players at the intermediate level or 'B' level (for more details on volleyball levels, please visit our site here: https://melbournevolleyballacademy.com.au/skill-levels-explained).
Players are expected to:
* pass freeballs and serve receive consistently
* have some knowledge of 5-1 (1 setter all around) or 6-2 (back row setter only) systems
* help others and have good sportsmanship
If you are a high intermediate (BB) or advanced player (A) you are more than welcome to join but you may find our open play sessions for BB/A level players more suitable.
For players that are at the beginner level, we suggest attending our training on Fridays at North Melbourne Community Centre 6-9PM as beginners may find the drills and level of play too difficult.
Players will be asked to attend a different session if their play is deemed unsafe or if they are not of the appropriate skill level.
**[[HOW MUCH]]**
$21 card payment will be collected on the day via square (EFTPOS) payment.
**[[WHEN]]**
The stadium is booked for 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM. However, feel free to come early and stretch as the stadium is open earlier.
**Last-minute dropouts and no-shows will have a zero-tolerance policy going forward.**
All players are expected to **update their RSVP at least 24 hours** in advance if they are unable to attend. This applies to players on the going list and the waitlist.
**[[THINGS TO BRING]]**
We ask that you bring:
* Water bottle
* Appropriate footwear for indoor court shoes - netball shoes, volleyball shoes, or basketball shoes would be suitable.
* Wear contacts or sports glasses if possible.
**[[OTHER DETAILS]]**
Only those on the “going” list are permitted to play. If you are on the waitlist, or not registered at all, you will not be permitted to play.

Event details:
Hobart's favourite purveyors of spirited Italian food team up with their fellows on Little Bourke Street for an Amalfi-inspired Sunday feast.
Federica Andrisani, Oskar Rossi and the team from Hobart favourite Fico are getting together with their fellow purveyors of contemporary Italian flavours this Festival to cook a lunch inspired by Federica and Oskar’s recent travels on the Amalfi Coast.
“Fico’s creative embrace of Tasmanian produce is deeper, more interesting and tastier than ever, wrote the critics at the Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide back in August. “Where (nearly) 10 years might see some adopt cruise mode, owner-chefs Federica Andrisani and Oskar Rossi continue to surprise with both creativity and craft.”
With those sentiments in mind, and with the dial pointed towards that most beautiful stretch of the coast of Campania, you can expect lemons, you can expect tomatoes at their peak, you can expect seafood – heck, there might even be pasta – but it’ll all be offered with that same creative spirit that make Fico and Ilaria such celebrated destinations for lovers of good food and wine.
On their own, they’re exciting – together they’re incredible. Back it all up with the service that Tipo and Ilaria are known for, and drinks list packed full of good things and you’ve got a day full of sunshine and fun.

From Web Forms to Web Components - Burton Smith
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
**Abstract**
Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively.
This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way.
