I'll be waiting for you outside the MACBA (The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art). From there, we'll take a walk to CCCB (The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona), which has a café and co-working space. Once we get there, we'll ask for coffee/tea and get ready to embark on our creative journey! The art-making process will serve as a bridge for social and creative communication, and the theme will be centered around traveling and the things that make us vibrate. We'll start by using imagery, storytelling, and moving freely between drawing and writing to collage. We'll also work collaboratively, with each collaborator adding to a composition in sequence, allowing creativity to flow as we play. The main objective is self-expression, awakening creativity, having fun, and sharing a nice time together while colors and words come together to empower the artistic experience. I will guide you in the right direction to create something that you may have never thought of on your own, and you can take your own pace with art and bring it back home. The aim of this art workshop is to enhance your own creativity and self-expression. I will provide all the art materials, and the cost is 25 euros for a maximum of four people for a one-hour-long session. An individual session costs 40 euros. We could also participate in a group collage exercise and discuss archetypes, the collective unconscious, symbolism, and active imagination. #### Un taller experiencial y sensorial que transforma la fotografía sin cámara en un acto pictórico. Trabajaremos con papeles alternativos y específicos para cianotipia, explorando cómo cada superficie ofrece una textura y un lenguaje distinto. La segunda parte será pura alquimia visual: experimentaremos con el **Wet Cyanotype**, un proceso donde el agua, el calor y los pigmentos crean imágenes irrepetibles, llenas de veladuras, texturas orgánicas y matices. ### ¿Qué haremos? * Preparación de papeles específicos y alternativos. * Tiras de prueba y exposición con sol e insoladora. * Creación de piezas únicas mediante el método Wet Cyanotype, trabajando con agua, pigmentos y elementos naturales. * Varias obras sobre papeles distintos, explorando contrastes y transiciones cromáticas. ### ¿Cómo va a ser? * **Primera parte:** Preparación de emulsión y sensibilización de diferentes papeles. * **Segunda parte:** Insolación práctica y experimental con los diferentes tipos de papeles, para ver las diferencias. * **Tercera parte:** Ejercicios libres de Wet Cyanotype, explorando las posibilidades pictóricas y orgánicas de la técnica. ### ¿A quién va dirigido? This month we will be discussing **Frank Santoro**, an American cartoonist, painter, and comics critic known for his expressive lines, experimental page layouts, and vibrant use of color. His graphic novels—including *Storeyville*, *Pompeii*, and *Pittsburgh*—blend personal storytelling with innovative visual structure, often exploring memory, place, and relationships. In addition to his comics, Santoro has been an influential voice in comics education and criticism, co-founding the magazine *ComicsComics* and creating the **Santoro Correspondence Course for Comic Book Makers**, which has helped train and inspire a new generation of cartoonists. Afterwards, we will have time to work on our individual art projects, hang out, and if anyone is interested in feedback on their work, there will be time for that as well.

So this month's prompt is more general. I think we can all agree that we are living in "unique" times that require coping skills. I think that one role and/or purpose of philosophy is to help us deal with our daily lives and our "unique" times. So, let's share our feelings and thoughts about which philosopher/philosophy we turn to in order to deal with our crazy events. Who/what helps you stay focused in your daily life and helps you sleep at night. I find that Stoicism with a little philosophical pessimism mixed in goes a long way in helping me deal with what I see as very destructive, fearful and mean spirited public policies at both the state and federal levels.
