*** ### **Why This Forum Exists** À Bruxelles, plusieurs initiatives proposent des débats structurés. The goal is not exclusivity, but accountability and quality of discussion. If this format doesn’t suit you, this event may not be the right fit.

Designing AI Governance for Real-World Deployment
Designing AI Governance for Real-World Deployment
We're thrilled to announce our **March 2026 Meetup**, hosted in collaboration with **Axway**. This edition covers two hot topics: governing your APIs and AI assets in the enterprise, and getting started with the AI Act — no legal jargon included. 📅 **Date:** March 19, 2026 🕐 **Time:** 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM 📍 **Location:** Quatuor - Tour C, Boulevard Roi Albert II, 4, Brussels (4 min walk from Brussels North station) **Agenda:** * **17:00 - 18:00** — Welcome coffee * **18:00 - 19:00** — Presentations with Q&A * **19:00 - 21:00** — Networking with food & drinks *** 🎤 **Talk 1: The Next Challenge — How to Create API & AI Asset Governance** *Rogier van Boxtel & Jarno Verrijzer (Axway)* Large organizations have created significant amounts of APIs over the last years. With corporate AI initiatives as next kids on the block, MCP and AI Agents are being developed in fast growing numbers as well. End result: all kinds of "integration assets", no governance, no management — resulting in all kinds of (security) risks. The solution: a central governance layer built on a complete, all "integration assets" service registry to be able to create, monetize and show relevant services to internal developers, business partners and "the world". During this presentation Rogier & Jarno will explain today's reality and share the way Axway can help to solve the governance challenge. 🎤 **Talk 2: No Legal Jargon — How Do I Get Started with the AI Act?** *Enzo Marquet (CRANIUM)* In this session, Enzo Marquet will translate the AI Act into concrete implementation: what does the AI Act say, how do you get started with it as a company, what reflexes should you develop, and what should you definitely avoid doing. All of this peppered with best practices! *** **Speaker Bios:** **Rogier van Boxtel** is a highly experienced integration software expert. Over 20 years ago he started as a consultant at TIBCO focusing on Business Process Management & Application Integration. He moved to a Solution Architecture role at TIBCO and after 10 years joined Axway as a Solution Architect and manager covering the complete set of Managed File Transfer, B2B & full lifecycle API Management solutions Axway offers. Today Rogier runs two Solution Architect teams, one covering Benelux & Nordics and one DACH. **Jarno Verrijzer** is a Pre-Sales Architect at Axway, supporting the Benelux, Nordics, and DACH regions, with a focus on the Amplify Platform. With over 10 years of experience in frontend, backend, integration, and enterprise architectures, he helps companies with their API strategy — whether they're just starting out, tackling specific challenges, or scaling their API landscape. **Enzo Marquet** is a Data Protection & AI Consultant at CRANIUM. He works extensively on the overlap between data protection and AI regulation, looking for workable solutions in an ever more complex landscape. Alongside his consultancy work, Enzo provides trainings and lectures on data protection and AI for various training institutes.

Small Joys, Long Visual Stories — A Moving Panorama Workshop
Small Joys, Long Visual Stories — A Moving Panorama Workshop
**Small Joys, Long Visual Stories — A Moving Panorama Workshop** On the United Nations International Day of Happiness, the Brussels Creativity Lab invites you to slow down and take a closer look at joy. In this workshop we’ll explore happiness not as a grand finale, but as something quietly unfolding over time. Together, we’ll work with the moving panorama — an early storytelling art form and ancestor of cinema — to tell stories that stretch small moments into long visual journeys. A moving panorama is a hand-cranked storytelling device: a long illustrated scroll wound onto two spools and viewed through a small window as it slowly unrolls. In this workshop, you’ll be guided to create a short story, visualise it on a long piece of paper, and construct a simple cardboard viewing box to bring it to life. Our focus will be on small joys, long stories: Stories built from tiny pleasures: a shared laugh, light through a window, a familiar route through the city. By drawing these moments out across the length of the scroll, the panorama becomes a way to slow happiness down so it can be noticed. Expect a hands-on, playful session where experimentation is encouraged and artistic skill is not a prerequisite. You’ll meet others, exchange ideas, and discover how storytelling, rhythm, and movement can reveal joy hiding in plain sight. Come curious, leave with a story — and maybe a new way of noticing happiness as it gently unfolds. All materials will be provided. **Ticket: €5 in cash at the door.** Ticket covers cost of materials and some snacks. **To help our lovely hosts at Unity Bookshop continue supporting community events like this, a small donation on the day would be greatly appreciated.** **::::Agenda::::** \- 18:00 Arrival & Welcome \- 18:30 Start of session
\- 20:00 Closing followed with networking **::: Location:::** Unity Bookshop, Chau. de Wavre 331, 1040 Etterbeek

Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations. If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!). **HOW IT WORKS** **Step 1: Bring a topic** Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event. **Step 2: Circle up & share** We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds. **Step 3: Walk, talk & float** We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!" **Step 4: Feel more alive** Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times. *For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)* **HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC** A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about. Recent topics include: * "What are you passionate about right now?" * "What makes a good friend?" * "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?" * "How do you want to be remembered?" * "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?" Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter. **WHAT TO EXPECT** This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.* But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here. **FAQ** * Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk! * We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space. * We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space. * Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know. * Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic! **LOGISTICS** * If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event. * This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs. * Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details. * If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. 🤠👋 **IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...** [The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up. * This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. Using Philosophy to Cope with Current Events
Using Philosophy to Cope with Current Events
So this month's prompt is more general. I think we can all agree that we are living in "unique" times that require coping skills. I think that one role and/or purpose of philosophy is to help us deal with our daily lives and our "unique" times. So, let's share our feelings and thoughts about which philosopher/philosophy we turn to in order to deal with our crazy events. Who/what helps you stay focused in your daily life and helps you sleep at night. I find that Stoicism with a little philosophical pessimism mixed in goes a long way in helping me deal with what I see as very destructive, fearful and mean spirited public policies at both the state and federal levels. Hope to see you on March 28th!

**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 **Abstract** Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively. This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way. **YouTube Link** TBA
