Lampwork Glass Flower Making Workshop
Join a hands-on **glass flower lampwork workshop in London**, just a short walk from Stratford Station, and learn how to transform molten glass into delicate, handcrafted floral designs.
This beginner-friendly experience starts with a safety introduction and live demonstration, followed by step-by-step guidance from an experienced tutor. You’ll choose your own project and glass colours, then learn how to heat, shape and control the flame to create your own unique piece. With close support throughout, even complete beginners can feel confident working with this fascinating material.
You can select from three session options depending on how much you’d like to explore:

**HOW IT WORKS**
**Step 1: Bring a topic**
Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event.
**Step 2: Circle up & share**
We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds.
**Step 3: Walk, talk & float**
We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!"
**Step 4: Feel more alive**
Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times.

**HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC**
A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about.

Join a relaxed, creative and playful session where pairs paint portraits of each other.
The workshop takes place at *BE Ka Art Studio*, Elena’s atelier, overlooking the Thames.
If you don’t arrive with a painting partner, a lighthearted pairing process (such as a simple draw) will be used, making it easy and fun to connect with others.
No artistic experience is needed. This is a light, social and engaging experience designed to spark conversation, creativity and laughter—while creating something uniquely personal.
Elena, visual artist and teacher, will guide you step by step. You’ll begin with a quick and simple sketch, learning how to place and balance facial features on the page. You’ll then move on to painting with acrylics, exploring colour in a playful way, and finish with markers to add bold, refined or pop-inspired details if you'd like.
The focus is not on perfection, but on expression, connection and enjoyment. You’ll leave with a colourful portrait and a shared fun experience to remember.
At the end of the session, you can choose to keep your artwork as a personal memento, or gift it to the person you’ve painted.

We begin in charming Bosham Bay before taking a scenic boat ride across Chichester Harbour, arriving at the stunning white sands of West Wittering. Expect coastal views, sea air, open skies and time to relax, swim or explore the shoreline.

Outpost Ongar: Ghost of The Long Lost Central Line, Heritage Steam Train Ride

**DESCRIPTION**
Join us for a countryside stroll along the ghost of the Central Line! With lots to see along the way including wild deer and pigs. Starting from Epping station, we’ll follow a scenic trail near the disused rail line through fields, woods, and heritage stations, past the worlds oldest wooden church where we can enter and have a look (845AD) finishing in Ongar (where the central line used to go to)
After lunch, the heritage steam/diesel train back to North Weald then herritage bus 339 on the last leg to Epping underground station. This is 17km route so you’ll be back in time to freshen up for your night out.
**WHAT TO EXPECT - HIKING INFO**

09:00: Start from Epping Underground Station
11:00: Pass North Weald station, near the airfield.
11:10: Some wild deer have been spotted here.
11:45: Pass the ugliest and friendliest pig in the world.
12:00: Pass Blake Hall station (now a mansion, yes someone lives there with a central line platform in there back garden)
12:45: Worlds oldest wooden church where we can enter and have a look (845AD)
13:15–13:30 Arrive in Ongar for lunch at local pub.
15:00 The heritage steam train back to North Weald (via the mansion that has a non-used central line platform in back garden.) Then herritage bus 339 on the last leg back to Epping underground station (both included in price)
15:45 ish depending on steam train schedule, arrive back at Epping Central line station.

**UP** is a dynamic photography workshop designed for creatives who want to see the world differently. We’ll travel to a series of curated locations where the most compelling shots aren’t in front of you - they’re above you.
From architectural lines to open sky compositions and using nature to create frames, this workshop trains your eye to look up, frame boldly, and capture the extraordinary hiding in plain sight.

FULL - Social Walk, Games & Pub Trip | Hampstead Heath
**It's landed. Another Sunday and we’ve got your weekend sorted again with another special Spring Social Walk and Pub trip, exclusively for 20s and 30s.**
Yep and for this latest free Sunday walk, we’ll be heading back to one of the most popular hiking spots in the capital, Hampstead Heath in North London.
As always before heading off on the hike, you'll be allocated a group/team for an initial mix of fun and light-hearted games, designed to help you break the ice and get to know your fellow walkers a little better.
After the games and everyone is warmed up for walk, we’ll then set off on our 2-3 hour hike across the heath.
Along the way, we will wander past the stately home, Kenwood House and the famous Parliament Hill viewing point overlooking London.
We will then ramble through the stunning ancient woodland, Highgate Wood before finally before ending up at a pub in Muswell Hill, where you'll be able to relax, have a drink and chat with those you've met on the walk.

Set up in November 2021, the project was set up to help 20s and 30s in London meet, connect and hopefully build life-long friendships.
To help make this happen, we also host all kinds of events from free social walks, games evenings, day trips, social events, activity nights to picnics.

Nature Walk through RSPB Rainham Marshes Nature Reserve
**Hello and welcome! 🙂**
Join us for a relaxed, social walk through **RSPB Rainham Marshes**, one of London’s most impressive nature reserves. With wide open landscapes, big skies, and a rich mix of wildlife, it’s the perfect place to unwind, enjoy nature, and connect with others at an easy, unhurried pace.
🌟 **What to Expect**
* A gentle group walk through open marshland and nature trails
* An easy way to meet new people with friendly, low-pressure conversation
* Learn to spot birds, landscapes, and seasonal changes you might normally miss
* Discover how noticing more in nature can make everyday walks more calming
* Leave feeling refreshed - with new connections to both people and nature
Even if you’ve never thought of yourself as a “nature person,” this is a welcoming, easy way to get started - and see just how good it can feel.
**Agenda**
* **Meet at 11am** outside the main entrance to RSPB Rainham Marshes (next to the little bridge, near the visitor centre). About a 10 minute walk from **Purfleet train station.**
* **Begin walk at 11:10am**
* **Walk will end around 13:00pm**, finishing back at the entrance
To help encourage people to sign up early there are usually some free spaces. After that the usual price will apply. The charge helps cover the cost of the Meetup group subscription. Thank you for your support!
👋 **About Your Host - Matt**
I work as a doctor in A&E and I’ve always found that time spent outdoors helps me recharge, especially with the pressures of city life and work. I grew up in rural Devon and have spent thousands of hours immersed in nature - and I love showing others how even a short walk can shift your mindset, boost your mood, and help you feel more present.
No need to be a wildlife expert — I’ll point out birds and other wildlife along the way, and you’ll leave with a few simple tips to help you enjoy your own walks even more in future.
This is a welcoming group — whether you come solo or with a friend — and a great way to combine light exercise, real conversation, and a bit of calm in your week.

We meet to learn and practice American Sign Language and to grow our familiarity with Deaf culture. Facilitated by hearing folks (with a connection to a professional interpreter) using Deaf-created content. People of all ASL skill levels are welcome! As we learn, we hope to connect more with the Deaf community in Central Ohio. Join us as you're able!
Come regularly or just once - whatever you're looking for! Each meetup will explore different topics related to ASL/Deaf culture, and will feature time to practice conversation with one another. Just bring yourself and a willingness to learn!

Spring into greenery at Chadwick Arboretum & Learning Gardens! Join us for our annual Spring Plant Sale Fundraiser and dive into a lush world of botanical delights. With over 16,000 fresh, exotic, and time-tested edible and ornamental plants, there's something for every green thumb!
Experience the thrill of our tree and shrub auctions, where you can bid on unique specimens to enhance your garden sanctuary. Step into our Learning Lab, where engaging educational demonstrations on various garden topics will unfold throughout the three-day sale, enriching your knowledge and inspiring your green endeavors. Take part in an exciting, live auction offered each day, as well as a silent auction on Thursday and Friday. Explore vendor booths brimming with gardening essentials and delightful treasures. CMG Gives Back: Serve Brunch at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event:
FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces.
PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1
week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve.
