Chess For Fun - back to the game!
Chess For Fun - back to the game!
A beautiful Kreuzberg Café La Tienda hosts us on regular, weekly basis. The owner is very friendly and plays chess too. Please, please respect the invitation and leave some money on the bar - it's a café, so please behave like in a café and carry your responsibility for the chess community you are part of. More then before small business need our support. Female players, beginners and hobby players -it's our event! Please note that the number of attendees on Meetup doesn't correspond the amount of people coming to La Tienda. There is a vivid community around, so we are always many!

Drawing Cafe [#7] Coffee & Sketching in Berlin
Drawing Cafe [#7] Coffee & Sketching in Berlin
We meet and sketch each other in Berlin. This is just an art gym that we also exercise our social skills. Afterwards usually we go for lunch as a group. **How Does It Work?** This event is simple, we meet and sketch each other doing portraits. Most of the participants use pencils or watercolors. Main aim is to socialize while we draw. There will be plenty of time to talk and get to know each other. We have to mention that this event is suitable for all levels. Many have started to draw in our event actually. **Structure** A. Warmup Phase: We pose to each other for 1 minute. B. Main Phase: We pose to each other for 10 minutes. C. Showcase Phase: We show some of the drawings we did to each other. **Who We Are** Creative Sessions is an art events group located in Berlin. **Is it Free?** The event is free of charge. It is advisable to get a drink though. This is a cafe, we need to have at least half of the people on each table with a drink. They accept only cash and most hot drinks cost from 2.50 to 3.50. **How to help or donate?** The event is provided for free but many people help this be a regular thing. We also need people to volunteer and help for minor tasks like the serving of the drinks or cleaning up. Just send us a message. If you want to donate and keep this event from happening, via Paypal to the host (Miltos) : https://ko-fi.com/miltosthings/ **Art Materials?** Bring your own art materials. **Our Instagram Profile** Follow us on instagram @icreativesessions Use the hashtag #icreativesessions on your post description there to find out drawings from the event!
Productive Sunday Morning - Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all work welcome)
Productive Sunday Morning - Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all work welcome)
Hey everyone! I’m organising a co-working + socialising session for all of us who like to work on something (e.g. our own project, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. 🙂 To ensure that we have both **socialising** AND **working**, we will be using the so called “Pomodoro” technique: **50min of deep work** (silent), followed by **10min of break** to socialise. Then repeat! If you get into flow, you're also welcome to skip the breaks. It’s an effective way to stay focused - you can read more about it [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique). Anyone from any background is welcome, whatever project you are working on or whatever is your personal background. I (the host) speak English and German, so either is fine :-) ——————————————————- AGENDA: * **15min Intro** * Get to know everyone, talk about what you will work on today * **Pomodoro Session** (3x) - *Each Pomodoro session consists* *of...* * ...**50min** of uninterrupted “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, no phones) * ...**10min** of break: share your progress with others, talk about what you are stuck on etc. * Repeat * Conclude and celebrate your progress Share your progress, socialise and get to know others 😊 ———— We'll be at the Social Hub Berlin (they have a food menu in case you get hungry). The structured part will end at 2:30pm, but you're welcome to stay longer, go for lunch together, or leave earlier. See you there 🩵 **\*\*We'll reserve the long table. Please update your RSVP in advance if you can't attend!\*\***

🟣 Surprise Session | Playful Expression | Expedition Metropolis (Kreuzberg)
🟣 Surprise Session | Playful Expression | Expedition Metropolis (Kreuzberg)
# Welcome to Uncommon Club Uncommon Club runs curated experiences across Berlin that invite you to step out of autopilot and into something new. Tickets via [luma.com/uncommonclub](luma.com/uncommonclub) *** ## Overview **Location:** Expedition Metropolis **Language:** English **Group size:** 18 people **Uncommon Factor:** 🟣🟣⚪ **Guide**: Surprise **Event Manager**: Joost *** ## This session Let go of script. What happens when you stop trying to be clever, and simply respond? This session invites you into a playful exploration. Guided, interactive, and open-ended. You’ll be offered simple prompts and situations that unfold moment by moment, shaped by the group rather than a fixed plan. The exact form stays a surprise. What’s certain is a light, well-held group space where you can experiment, react, and build something together.. without pressure to perform, be funny, or get it right. No experience needed. You can jump in, take a step back, or observe when needed. Participation is always opt-in. *** ## **Today's guide** Today’s session is held by a Berlin-based artist and facilitator working across live performance and group-based creative work. He has led sessions for institutions such as DIE GORILLAS and the Berliner Volkshochschule, and regularly works with both performers and non-performers. His approach is less about instruction and more about attunement, sensing the group, responding in the moment, and creating a space that feels playful, human, and low-pressure. ![User Uploaded Image](https://images.lumacdn.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,fit=cover,dpr=2,quality=75,width=800,height=640/editor-images/6l/496e252f-f4b0-4409-a4af-aefed8f61976.png) ## ****Practical notes * **Clothing**: Comfortable clothing recommended. We’ll be indoors; bring a warm layer. * **Beverages**: Light beverages provided (please eat beforehand). You might want to bring your own water bottle. Strictly no alcohol allowed. * **Health & pregnancy:** Any involved movement is gentle and voluntary. * **Accessibility:** Ground floor, wheelchair accessible. * **Bring a +1:** You can purchase a ticket for friends via Luma or they can book their own ticket separately. * **Children**: This session is designed for adults. We don’t have facilities or supervision in place for children, so we kindly ask parents to arrange childcare in advance. *** ## **Compatibility** This session is for you, if you ... * are curious about improvisation without stage pressure * enjoy playful interaction and responding in the moment * like experiences that feel social, light, and exploratory * appreciate clear guidance with freedom to opt in or out * feel okay warming up gradually in a group setting No experience needed. Participation is always voluntary. Not sure if this session fits you? Ask any questions via [hello@uncommon.club ](https://mailto:hello@uncommon.club/)or take a 2-minute test to see what type of Uncommon Club sessions suit you best: [Matching Survey](https://www.uncommon.club/) *** ## **What others said about similar sessions** > “It made me laugh, but also notice how much easier things flow when you stop planning every move.” > — **Fatos from Germany** ![User Uploaded Image](https://images.lumacdn.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,fit=cover,dpr=2,quality=75,width=800,height=640/editor-images/g4/fcee4f21-9438-4cfe-a576-9bfd622137b3.png) If you want to explore more reflections from past participants, you can find them here: → **[www.uncommon.club ](https://www.uncommon.club/)**or on our **[Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/uncommonclub.berlin/)** *** ## **Cancellation, reimbursement & flexibility** We want booking an Uncommon Club session to feel easy, human and low-risk. * You can cancel or transfer your ticket **up to 48 hours before** the session for a full refund. * If something unexpected comes up closer to the date, reach out, we’ll always aim to find a **fair solution**. * If we can reassign your spot to someone on the waitlist, we’re happy to refund you. If you join a session and need to step out early for a serious or personal reason, please let one of the facilitators or our empathy angel know. In such cases, we’re open to **reimbursing your ticket**, even after the session has started. *** ![User Uploaded Image](https://images.lumacdn.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,fit=cover,dpr=2,quality=75,width=800,height=533.3333333333334/editor-images/9k/472d0c13-5f95-4952-8f20-c18e7241737f.jpg) ## ****What is Uncommon Club? Uncommon Club creates guided group sessions built around shared novelty, doing something unfamiliar together, in a way that feels safe, human, and intentional. We believe that when people step into a new experience at the same time, without knowing exactly what will happen, habits soften, curiosity opens, and connection becomes more natural. That’s why Uncommon Club sessions are: * carefully guided and consent-led, * designed around presence rather than performance, * and kept partly a surprise. *** ## What Uncommon Club **is**, and **isn’t** **Uncommon Club is:** * ✅ A guided, facilitator-led group experience * ✅ Focused on curiosity, embodiment, and human connection * ✅ Structured, consent-led, and psychologically safe **Uncommon Club is not:** * ❌ A party or club night * ❌ An intense fitness class * ❌ A networking or dating event * ❌ A sexual setting * ❌ Therapy or counselling *** ## How our sessions work Every Uncommon Club session is carefully guided and unfolds in phases **Phase 1️⃣ — Arrival** Arrive, settle, and land in the space and group. **Phase 2️⃣ — Warm-up** Gentle invitations help you arrive in your body and the moment. **Phase 3️⃣ — Exploration** The heart of the session. Playful, embodied and surprising. **Phase 4️⃣ — Reflection** We slow things down and let the experience settle. **Phase 5️⃣ — Connection** A clear closing moment, with space to linger.. or leave quietly. ![User Uploaded Image](https://images.lumacdn.com/cdn-cgi/image/format=auto,fit=cover,dpr=2,quality=75,width=800,height=533.3333333333334/editor-images/gk/7f77d4f7-c573-464f-9b2e-a392e9727fea.jpg) ## ****Frequently Asked Questions **❓ Who is Uncommon Club for?** Uncommon Club is for any adult. You don't need to be a performer or social butterfly, just someone open to exploring horizons beyond the everyday. **❓ What if I realize I don't want to participate?** That's fine. A "no" is as bold as a "yes". You can always step back or observe instead of joining in, and this will be explained and emphasised at the start of every experience. **❓ I struggle with strangers. Will it be awkward?** Our guides are trained in spaceholding and use a unique event process to make connection flow easily and naturally. It's structured so that everyone feels included without pressure. For more FAQ's, please visit our website: [https://www.uncommon.club/](https://www.uncommon.club/) *** ## Safety, boundaries & wellbeing * Participation is always voluntary. * You can opt out of any exercise at any time. * Clear boundaries are held throughout. * An empathy angel is present, someone you can approach anytime if you’d like to talk. * We recommend leaving a little space before and after the session. Not because it’s intense, but because embodied experiences tend to land better when you’re not rushing. * Uncommon Club welcomes people of all backgrounds and bodies. Diversity is the fabric of our experiences. * Please read more in our [Community Guidelines](https://www.uncommon.club/community-guidelines). *** ## Disclaimer * Uncommon Club sessions are creative group experiences, not therapy. * If you’re currently going through an acute or overwhelming personal situation, we recommend sitting this one out and seeking appropriate support. * If you’re unsure whether this session is right for you, feel free to reach out via hello@uncommon.club. We’re happy to help you decide safely. *** ## Photography & privacy * We care about privacy. * Please don’t take photos or videos of others. * Uncommon Club may capture a few atmosphere shots only with clear consent. *** ## More information Instagram: [@uncommonclub.berlin](https://www.instagram.com/uncommonclub.berlin/) Website: [www.uncommon.club](http://www.uncommon.club/) Email: [hello@uncommon.club](https://mailto:hello@uncommon.club/) Blasts [Uncommon Club](https://luma.com/user/usr-zfFBmbmComnOuye) [Feb 3, 11:00 PM](https://luma.com/blast/N6FX6uAhxW) ## Evolving our concept and pricing We want to share a small evolution in how Uncommon Club sessions are offered. Until now, every Uncommon Club session was a complete surprise. Going forward, we’ll work with a mix of Open sessions **⚪️**, where the format and facilitator are shared in advance and Surprise sessions **🟣** where you step in without knowing what will unfold. Our intention remains unchanged: creating spaces for you to feel human again. During our events you enter with curiosity, trust the process and experience something new. This change simply offers more choice in how you step in. You may also have noticed a change in our pricing. We’ve decided to lower prices for future sessions to make it easier to return and easier to say yes, while keeping the same level of care and attention in the space. Because you signed up at the original price, we want to acknowledge that. If you’d like to join a future session, just reach out to us and we’ll make sure you receive a **50% discount**. Thank you for being there from the beginning. Your Uncommon Club team, Joost, Oktay and Jonel
