In Good Company – Saturday Walk & Coffee (Rosedale → Brick Works)
A simple way to meet new people and spend a relaxed Saturday morning outdoors.
This is a new, small meetup series — first walks are now starting.
We’ll meet just outside the main entrance of Rosedale Subway Station at street level (I’ll be standing near the exit and easy to spot), and walk through Rosedale onto the ravine trails toward Evergreen Brick Works, finishing with coffee and conversation.
The format is simple — just a walk, fresh air, and easy conversation.
Most people come on their own, so you’ll likely not be the only new face.
It’s a smaller group by design, which makes it easier to talk and connect without it feeling overwhelming.
Conversations can stay light or go a bit deeper depending on what feels natural — there’s no agenda or structure.
**Timing**
• Meet: 11:00–11:15am at Rosedale Station
• Walk: \~40 minutes at an easy pace
• Coffee: around midday at Brick Works
You’re welcome to join for the full walk or meet us at the café.
If you’re running late, feel free to join us along the route or meet at the café.
If it’s raining heavily, we’ll skip the walk and meet directly at Brick Works instead - the Pop-up Cafe inside the Young Centre at Brick Works. In case it rains, I will update this invite on the morning of the event day.
I’ll be there to welcome everyone and keep things relaxed and easy.
Looking forward to meeting you.
Avengers’ Saturday Cafe for the Homeless
Note: You may be removed from the attendance list if you've participated in the previous week's event. This allows for more people to experience this Meetup.
Avengers put your costumes on and let’s go and save the world!
Well we can’t save the world (yet), but we aim to try to play a small part in the lives of those experiencing homelessness by making their day a bit better!
Description: Before the event the organizer will post a list in the comment section of the attendees and what they are responsible to bring (food/drink, kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies). We normally ask each attending member to bring approximately $15-20 worth of ingredients/supplies to our event. We will use the items to prepare and serve food/drink at The Meeting Place.
Timeline: We will meet on location at 11:00 am, with lunch served between 12:30-1:00 pm.
Membership Dues: Membership dues are $2.00 for the calendar year. Membership dues go towards paying for food/supplies incurred by no-shows. Membership dues are due at the first meetup of the year that you attend.
No Shows/Late Un-RSVP: We’re relying on members who RSVP to bring key ingredients for recipes! Please try your best to show-up or alternatively change your RSVP early so another member may fill the empty spot.
\*\*\* If you are on the waitlist, keep checking as you may be moved into attendance to replace someone. We will try to message you to confirm your attendance in advance.
Donations will be assigned before the event.
MEAT UP

Taylor Creek Peaceful Slow Walk & Chill
# Taylor Creek Slow Walk & Reset
Join us for a relaxed, no-pressure walk through Taylor Creek.
We’ll meet near **Cullen Bryant Park** and walk at an easy pace toward **Victoria Park**. (**Route**: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/vd4vmBeLiyk18k9i7](https://maps.app.goo.gl/vd4vmBeLiyk18k9i7))
The route follows the creek through a peaceful ravine, with stretches of trees, open green space, **gentle water sounds**, and the feeling of **being tucked away from the city for a while**.
It’s the kind of walk where you can slow down, notice the light through the trees, listen to the creek, and let the conversation happen naturally.
***
## What to expect
The walk is about **4 km** and will take around **1 - 1.5 hours.**
We’ll keep the pace comfortable and take a short pause along the way to enjoy the surroundings.
You’re welcome to chat, walk quietly, or move between the two. There are no pressure to socialize in any particular way.
Just showing up and being present is enough. **Being there is enough.**
***
## A few notes
1. Comfortable shoes are still a good idea, and you may want to bring water. We’ll keep the pace easy and relaxed.
2. The route is mostly paved, with a calm trail feel as it follows the creek through the ravine.
3. This walk is for anyone who wants to be around people in a simple, low-key setting. You don’t need to be a fast walker, a big talker, or “good at socializing.”
The "Low-Down & High-Up" Boyne Valley Trek
## Details
Get ready, team. This Saturday, we’re taking you low before we get you high. We’re diving deep into the Boyne Valley watershed, weaving through the forest, and eventually conquering the **512-meter lookout** for a 360-degree vista that’ll make your Instagram followers weep with envy.
You don’t want to miss this—unless you have a personal vendetta against fresh air and spectacular views.
**📍 The Game Plan**
* **The Rendezvous:** Meet at the **Subway** sandwich store at Hwy 10 & Hwy 89.
* **The Time:** **9:45 AM sharp.** (That’s "9:45" in human time, not "9:45ish" in hiker time).
* **The Logistics:** With gas prices being what they are, please carpool—or ensure your Tesla is topped up with enough electrons to get us there and back.
* **Pro Tip:** This is your golden opportunity for a "civilized" bathroom break and a caffeine infusion before we vanish into the woods.
* **Distance options:** 9 km (The Appetizer) or 13 km (The Main Course). We’re ranking this a Level 2.5 effort and 5.0 views, enough to justify that post-hike snack."
**🚗 Parking Tetris**
Depending on our numbers, we’ll drive two minutes north to the **Lilliputian parking lot**. If we show up looking like a motorcade, we’ll leave a few sacrificial cars at the Subway lot to keep things manageable.
**🗺️ Don't Get Lost (It's Embarrassing)**
For the directionally challenged, use these for pinpoint accuracy:

**🎒 The "Must-Haves"**
Please bring **water and snacks**. You’re all big girls and boys now; I shouldn't have to remind you that dehydration isn't a personality trait.
**One last thing:** People ask if we’re climbing mountains or just "hill-areas." Honestly? It’s going to be **hill-arious** until we hit the incline—then it’s just business.
See you on the trail.

**About Wilderness Union**
Wilderness Union is deliberate about building an outdoors community that connects you to the life-changing magic of the outdoors and helps you find your people.
Members range from 20-40 years old. The group is a mix of GTA locals and newcomers to Toronto from within Canada and abroad.
Attendance numbers on Meetup don't reflect our actual event attendance - we typically have 15-20 community members at each event. Large enough that there's someone new to meet but small enough that it's not overwhelming!

LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1
week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to all of YOU for volunteering at this (and any of our previous) CMG Gives Back events!
Should be another good/fun/meaningful time together, Dan
