By walking slowly, breathing, observing, and using the five senses to perceive the sounds, light, taste, and textures of the forest, it promotes health, enhances well-being, and reduces stress. The forest itself possesses wonderful substances, such as phytoncides, which positively benefit the human immune and neurological systems. ANFT's forest bathing is not just simple strolling, but a deep natural therapy practice. The guide will lead participants through a series of sensory activation activities, such as deep listening, breathing, mindfulness, slow movements, tea tasting, and sharing. Through this process, participants can connect with nature more deeply, achieving healing and recovery of body and mind. Additionally, ANFT's forest bathing emphasizes community interaction and connection. Sometimes the best way to meet new people is simple **get out of the house and do something in real life.** With spring weather still unpredictable, we’re keeping this one simple **we’ll be walking indoors at Polaris.** **Most people who attend come alone — this is a casual social walk designed to meet new people.** No awkward networking. No pressure. Just walking, talking, and good company. Using Philosophy to Cope with Current Events
So this month's prompt is more general. I think we can all agree that we are living in "unique" times that require coping skills. I think that one role and/or purpose of philosophy is to help us deal with our daily lives and our "unique" times. So, let's share our feelings and thoughts about which philosopher/philosophy we turn to in order to deal with our crazy events. Who/what helps you stay focused in your daily life and helps you sleep at night. I find that Stoicism with a little philosophical pessimism mixed in goes a long way in helping me deal with what I see as very destructive, fearful and mean spirited public policies at both the state and federal levels.
